Capt. Obet, I love watching your videos. As a child growing up in Africa I loved aircraft and built a few from scrap metal, wire etc but never accomplished my goal of working on them professionally, so I enjoy seeing those who made it and have great passion. The 747 series, DC-10, L1011, and the Concorde are top on my list. Safe skies!
Big fan of the 747. This time of the year is great in Memphis, TN when the 747's make their annual return for the season. I've got lots of photos of them this year.
Watching these kinds of short films, I want to sit in this third seat waiting for the take off, to feel the positive atmosphere and hear more interesting stories about the 747 or aviation. Greetings to you and your fellow aviators.
Its such a lovely environment, the comms chatter, the weather is just right, and the anticipation of going into a flight and a new destination. what more can a human ask for?
What a small world. I also trained at the Australian Aviation College in Adelaide (now Flight Training Adelaide) although my first solo was in the Tobago! Cool videos thanks!
I've been on the MD 11 for the last 11 years, came from the B757/767. I've always loved the B747 and sad to see they're leaving the skies in passenger configuration but will be around for many more years to come, in freighter versions, much like my MD 11. Good job and fly safe!
I love your videos obet!! I can see your passion on airplanes and you are so kind to your crews. Safe flight forever~ Cadet program student pilot from Mainland China
Thanks Captain for sharing all the details on the Super Jet B model 747-8 the systems and what is the lowest you have flown with the runway RVR is at 1200 .
Loved your video, earned a new sub! I really loved the part where you put the sun visor and called it HUD comparing it with the flashy 787s and a350s out there 😂😂❤️
Hi everyone wishing you all a very Happy New year, i would of loved to of learnt to fly but now im to old at 60, and are not good at maths. This is a great video.
You’d think for commonality/safety, flight levels or altitude would now be universally in feet! Wonder how many accidents have arisen from the inevitable errors/mistakes arising
So as the first officer was switching it from feet to meters. I noticed on the top of the dashboard that there was some worn area there and I would imagine that that is because you usually use your thumb while you're flying one hand on the yolk right hand left hand on the dashboard switching the switches with the thumb. Just guessing.
I suggest but not necessarily recommend that the front window visor display the speeds and configuration... Even air force jets have that capabilities and we make much more money than them...Expedite/ with haste!
I liked your videos Mr Pilot. I have a question for you please, for how long you have been flying airlines and how far you describe the safety of air transporting ? I have much confidence in your face/career as I found this channel as a young man coping with fear of flying due to trauma back couple of years ago watching airlines to feel relief as therapy to trust one day back catching flights. Thanks pilot Obet.
It really is just flying. I flew the B747-400 passenger flights for 12 years before the passenger version was discontinued. Some things you miss but there’s a lot of good operational aspects with freight operations 😀
Am 55 will be 56 age February 26,2022. Still want to go to pilot school to this job here I have dream of since 6 years old back in Jamaica n I wear glasses 20/20 corrected . Kind of shocked at how high the cockpit was off the ground.

That must be one heck of an experience to fly something that massively large.
Thank you for showing us around ! It is not often we get to see the pilot area.
You guys are awesome thanks for sharing that with us and the 747-8 sure is a beautiful aircraft!
I’m convinced that pilots are just simply the kindest people on earth.
Good presentation.
I just regret I've never got the opportunity to fly in a 747!
Thanks

Thanks both 🙏🇨🇱
captain, do the seats have memory while you're flying, or do you have to re-position it each time you leave you seat(breaks, bathroom etc)?
Sadly not but there are markers to indicate position
@@pilot_obet I sat in the left hand seat in a Qantas -400, but I was to overwhelmed to take in too many details.
So as the first officer was switching it from feet to meters. @@pilot_obet well there's some observations for you I had no idea thank you.
Great video! I would be keen to see what you use the iPads for! :)
Get some Costa sunglasses 😎
Wow it looks so high up from the cockpit I don’t know you get used to it

Good
Cool
Lol, the thumbnail got me thinking the 747 actually had HUD 😂😂😂. And you have a very familiar accent.
Learned some new stuff on the 747-8. Excited to find this channel. Is Pilot Obet from Kenya?
Zimbabwe
Guildford,of course it’s beautiful it’s in Surrey,Just like my place of birth Woking
The queen 👍.
How comfortable are these planes on the long flights? Also what is with the furry seat covers I always see in planes?
I believe I can fly I believe I can touch the sky 🥰☺️ 🤠
good report, nice office you have! I subscribed .Thank you captain! Just with 4 takeoffs and landings you are "on your own" in this monster jet?
Thanks

That black pilot looks more like seal and dr dre at the same time haha
Thanks Skipper. Do flight crew seats recline? How do pilots have "controlled rest"?
Yes, the seats recline to about 30-40 degrees.
1:45 Nice video, but was this not also there at the first 747 in 1969?
CN and FO sun visors were swapped. The long edge goes towards the center so you can block the sun under the compass. 😁
Ha ha….
Asante sana

Big goats 🐐 💪
If he come from a B777 as a Captain, once he finishes his conversion, does he automatically become a Captain of a 747-8?
Thank you captains! Any thoughts on your personal preference in flying cargo or passengers? Or is it all just flying?
It really is just flying. I flew the B747-400 passenger flights for 12 years before the passenger version was discontinued. Some things you miss but there’s a lot of good operational aspects with freight operations 😀
@@pilot_obet thanks for the reply! Have a great 2022!
@@pilot_obet no complaining passengers 😅
Do the sky waitresses give messages?
Wow
The captain has just landed the plane and then doesn't know where the front visor fits because " I'm not fully rated on this aircraft".......
