    Man o man!!! U ain’t just a prima donna Hy Tech Scan Boy. U know how to get it on down and dirty. Loved the Allen wrench trick!! U must of got it pretty near perfect otherwise u would have set a cam crank correlation code. Doing that on the floor with a creeper was not easy. Super impressed!! Lovely family!!!

      Actually, I think it would have been hard to be off by much if you just eyeballed it. The space between the teeth on the chain would have needed several degrees to be off for it to even get to the next tooth. But good trick with the allen key and bolt!

    Good job Eric! You're a hard worker that needs all the Lord's blessings....Be sure to use only 100% synthetic oil to prevent the sludge from happening in that engine...If you're on a budget, use the Walmart Super Tech Synthetic oil...It's a very good oil for the price without going crazy price of the name brands...

    Ford dealership technician here. You sir are a brave individual to mess with any part of the timing chain components on any Ford 4.0L SOHC engine without the proper timing tools. I've seen MANY other guys mis-time this engine and let me tell you, the outcome has never been good! It's been a LONG time since I've been inside any 4.0L SOHC engine but I still have those tools sitting inside my toolbox collecting dust. As much as I hate to say it, the Mustang donor engine didn't look like it had its oil changed on a regular basis either. But for $600 for a used engine? I guess you do what you got to do. Those cassettes are very finicky on those engines. Usually a cassette failure on one of those means the whole engine is only five minutes behind. You should have replaced the thermostat housing assembly too, while you had it out and apart. Those are notorious for leaking coolant when the age, due to the plastic halves warping. The good news is, it's not difficult to change.

    • @ADVANCEDLEVELAUTO
      @ADVANCEDLEVELAUTO  4 года назад

      Yes. I replaced the thermostat housing on the original engine about 6 months ago. I just swapped it over to the replacement engine. Thanks for watching!
