Your daughter just stole the show. Enjoy these days brother, when they’re small.
Man you're a soldier!! I didnt think you would get it running that night. 👍👍💪
I was extremely sore the next day. I think the heat exhaustion made me sick. Thanks for watching!
I have a 2014 sport trac. I don't want to quit on it. I've gone through 2 transmissions and all kinds of other shit.
Man o man!!! U ain’t just a prima donna Hy Tech Scan Boy. U know how to get it on down and dirty. Loved the Allen wrench trick!! U must of got it pretty near perfect otherwise u would have set a cam crank correlation code. Doing that on the floor with a creeper was not easy. Super impressed!! Lovely family!!!
Actually, I think it would have been hard to be off by much if you just eyeballed it. The space between the teeth on the chain would have needed several degrees to be off for it to even get to the next tooth. But good trick with the allen key and bolt!
@@jum5238 As long as he didn't loosen the sprocket. They have no keyway. I think
It warms my heart watching the kids all over the project. It would be interesting to have a "question meter" keeping track of how many questions are being asked. Brings back fond memories.
Tons of questions. She learned the difference between a bolt and a nut, also what washers are used for.
Your work ethic and analytical skills are supreme. So many times I've come across electrical ghosts in my cars. I enjoy watching you overcome those nagging electrical and system issues that plague most cars made today. Keep on fighting the good fight!
You better pay your little assistant, she know what she's doing!!
She gets paid in LOL Dolls!
Well done! Glad to see that thing running again. I'm glad I'm not the only one who will pull and all-nighter finishing a car...without even any food. I have a feeling we'll be seeing more of your assistant. She stayed on task throughout that entire hoist assembly. She's got the bug!
That’s tuff to do in a drive way. Respect
At least he lives in a state with little to no rust. This would be a lot harder in the rust belt
Major props to you, dad, for letting that precious daughter of yours help out. She's a sweetie. Dad is the most important job!! 😁
Lots of respect guy. Tough job for to do in a repair facility, to do outside takes perseverance. Hats off to you. Hope it lasts.
You are such a talented hard working genuine guy. I wish you so much success and happiness in 2021. God bless you and your family.
Wow you can do more in a day than I can in a week. Respect man.
me in a month
That exploder is clean underneath here in the great white north you need a torch to remove most bolts the rust. stay safe Eric you jave a great apprentice I'm glad you survived the engine swap nightmare 👍
I'm grateful that we don't have to deal with rust much down here.
Eric it’s always great to watch you work on cars, you sure do have great skills.
I am not a technician. However, I know when a man knows what he is doing. You know what you are doing and you work your butt off!! GOD bless you and your family.
Thank you and God bless!
You work really hard for your family good luck too you all 👍
I found this video series very helpful. I learned never to buy a Ford with a 4.0.
you really have done a TITANIC job. my admiration and respect for what you did in this car may God bless you and your beautiful daughter. from Tijuana 🇲🇽 Mexico. 👍👍👍
Hey at least with the alternator wire issue you won’t have to dig up wiring diagrams since well you did it! 😃
Man, you are some hard working dude!
Kudos to using the instruction manual for the hoist assembly. Lot of mechanics would tough it out.
My wife would be proud. You read the directions... :)
Thank you for the video! Enjoyed it! I've been told when buying an engine from a salvage yard be wary of the car donors that were overturned because you don't know if the engine ran with the car upside down with no oil pressure. Seems like you did well though. Really cute helper! Know you are proud!
Thoroughly entertaining, thank you great job!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great job sir. Love the video. Might be in my future at some point. Appreciate you taking the time to put it together
Looks like the heads have been replaced with those heat tabs on them. great job, OH SO GLAD TO BE RETIRED!! What memories you have brought back. Congrats.
Man you're a hard worker, it is not easy trying to work for somebody like that (yourself). Tired and hungry is a bad combination. Great job, fun video.
I appreciate that
without even watching , BIG LIKEEEE! ,,,, i like your work and learn much from you man
big thankxxx
Great to see you still working hope things are going well
Great video. I'm glad thing are falling into place for you.
Hi man I am a Chinese living in Texas, I always am amazed by Mexican's life. My life is the opposite of your. Thanks for your video, your little daughter is so adorable.
Good job Eric! You're a hard worker that needs all the Lord's blessings....Be sure to use only 100% synthetic oil to prevent the sludge from happening in that engine...If you're on a budget, use the Walmart Super Tech Synthetic oil...It's a very good oil for the price without going crazy price of the name brands...
Thanks for the tip!
yup i think super tech oils are just fine. wal mart can sell it for the $ they do because they buy massive amounts and put it in their own jugs. it meets or exceeds the latest API standards
Here's another shout out on the Super Tech. Produced by Williams Oil and it's perfectly good stuff!!
I have one even better. Watch a guy on YT called Farm Project. He actually performed a test between all of the synthetic oils. They’re basically all the same. Look at the labels on all the bottles. Again, basically the same.
Awesome , looks good. Lot of work
Thanks 👍
You got yourself a good little helper there.
Love your little girl having fun assembling the engine hoist =). Superb job and patience !!!!!!.
FordTechMakuloco has videos for replacing the chains on these. Tells you everything about this.
IIRC you have to remove the jackshaft to get that gear out.....I may be totally wrong though.
Jesus! How many hands do you have, the camera work is perfect!! Very cool content
Thats cute man. My daughter is always outside with me to lend a helping hand too.
Great great job my friend, I learned a lot and the best thing is when u work for yourself is better
Congrats on getting that thing back together! Those 4.0 S.O.H.C. engines are a nightmare to work on.
I know this a old a$$ comment but they are really easy if you know what your doing lol
Great video , very well explained..I got a smile when the little Girl appeared, thought about my own Daughter..thanks for the video..
Your an amazing mechanic man ,love this channel.
Very useful video, I will subscribe to this channel because my ford explorer 2009 really gave me a nightmare here in Dubai mainly due to dishonest mechanics.
Good helper! I get my daughter all the time to pass me tools
Great finds and solutions for the DYI guys
When you buy an engine from a junkyard. If they say it has 65k miles. It has 135k miles. If they say it has 100k miles. It has 150k miles.
I BOW to the grand master. Good video my Latino Brother !!!
Another entertaining vid! Looks like you have the same problem i have, everything seems to become bigger and more of a whipping, I've learned a simple job takes forever and i need to add time in the planning before i start. 🙄🙄🤣🤣 Keep em coming. 👍👍🤘🤘
What’s the name of that song you play in the background? Sounds like great study music.
Yes, you have earned my subscription! Like your effort and style!
fordtechmakuloco did a video on the timing chains r&r on that engine. i like your hex key improvising. neat trick.
Jesus I want to move south after seeing the underside of that Ford.
he who rules no rust
Good job on timing jig,,I had the same issue, I had to swap engine in 04 sportrac ,because of timing guides falling apart, shops up here wanted 2 to 2.5 k to swap engine,,so I took it upon myself,,it took me around 26 hours..you know when u do it yourself, just think of the money u save and the quality of job done.👍
well done bro amazing god bless you
I am really happy for this accomplishment, thanks 🙏 for posting.
Glad to finally see the conclusion to the explorer revival.
It was amazing! You just save a Mustang. Like i said before you have gold in your hands
Well done sir, thanks for the content.
3am finish. Tough day. Respect 👍
Wow! Hardly any rust under there.... anywhere! What I wouldn't give to see some vehicles like that! Lol
Dang.... you have Northern tool by you! LUCKY!.
Yeah, that's the Mustang's common state, at least around here. Young kids think they know how to drive, speed, and not used to the rear wheel drive vehicles.
I'm grateful that we don't have to deal with rust down here. Thanks for watching!
Your daughter was a great help. That was cool.
Enjoy your show. Thank you. Need help with my 94 caprice cooling fan. Trying to fix my car before my cancer treatment in 2 days. Let me know if anyone wants to help.
Incredible effort well done
Good thing your a mechanic and can do it your self
Great work, sorry you had so many issues ,your daughter is a sweetheart
Mucho trabajo. A lot of work. Changing an engine is not easy. 👌
Bro..I wish I had know about the timing issue. I have the ford timing tool for the ford 4.0 and I am south of Houston
She's the TINY GRAND MASTER in auto repair :)
She always wants to help. I just wish my son had the same interests.
Excellent video, well done.
Your videos are awsome ! thanks for sharing
great job and congrats for the new engine :) just curious, replacing with a used truck would be more expensive ?
At least RUclips is paying for your wife’s repair bill 😂
That explorer is gonna fly with that mustang engine...... :))
its the same engine- same horsepower
Great job, you are the man.
Jackshaft has to be pulled forward . And that means replacing front chains . I just did that job . You need the tool to time engine. Ebay has tool for 80 dollars . Well worth money .
Great Job bro wish you the best .
Awesome job bro. Love your videos.
Northwest Houston... Crowded!
I just did a timing chain on a 4.0 and you have take out the shaft to get the cog out and that bolt you took out is a one time use bolt
I have been waiting for part2 .. loved the video.
You got it! On to the next project.
Good work!
Nice progress👍
With the extra time, did you install the rear main seal sleeve? Stuff like that would just eat at me even thought the current one looks fine. I would be thinking, I have it right here with the engine out, gosh, I know I should replace it. That stuff just bothers me. But you're pressed for time and like you said, it'll be someone else's problem after a year or so... Wrecking yard engine, off a different car, you're bound to run into some problems...Another great video . Thanks!
Ive got an 03 did the same engine swap, never had a fight like that before, took 11 months to complete and if failed less than 24 hours later so now it's back and it's fighting me again, obw don't remove the hood just the hood shocks and tie the hood back it will almost go straight up and out if the way.
Your every clear on how you fix and Diagnose also what that jam you play as your Bildung tue engine hoist
One hell of a good job.
Good job as always brother
Eric thank you for sharing and one heck of a job. Good thing you had your beautiful daughter helping you and telling you how to put it back together. Nice job and keep us posted. Did you change the rear main seal or just say the heck with it? Stay well and safe Artie 😊😊😊
I never got around to ordering the tool, so I just left it alone. Thanks for watching!
Eric I meant to ask you was the engine and pcm compatable know you said there was no check engine light but was wondering if you replace an engine with a comparable one should the pcm and engine work together or were you just lucky. With all of today’s programming I was just wondering. Thanks pal stay well 😊
Good job bro
hermano te felicito por tan excelente trabajo. saludos desde bogotá!
Awsome work. thanks for sharing. I was watching a "FordTechMakeuloco" 4.0 video, and it seems that the piece that did not let you pull that rear sprocket is a spacer. In your case it seems it got stuck to the sprocket.
Exactly!
Ford dealership technician here. You sir are a brave individual to mess with any part of the timing chain components on any Ford 4.0L SOHC engine without the proper timing tools. I've seen MANY other guys mis-time this engine and let me tell you, the outcome has never been good! It's been a LONG time since I've been inside any 4.0L SOHC engine but I still have those tools sitting inside my toolbox collecting dust. As much as I hate to say it, the Mustang donor engine didn't look like it had its oil changed on a regular basis either. But for $600 for a used engine? I guess you do what you got to do. Those cassettes are very finicky on those engines. Usually a cassette failure on one of those means the whole engine is only five minutes behind. You should have replaced the thermostat housing assembly too, while you had it out and apart. Those are notorious for leaking coolant when the age, due to the plastic halves warping. The good news is, it's not difficult to change.
Yes. I replaced the thermostat housing on the original engine about 6 months ago. I just swapped it over to the replacement engine. Thanks for watching!
GREAT WORK..
great job and great video
That's definitely a southern state vehicle! No rust!
Big Job, How Much Do You Think This Would Cost Having This Repair Done In A Shop?
You are the man. As always great job!
Nice work , good video
Nice job! 👍🏻.
