The Citroen DS is stable and comfortable up to it´s top speed, if correctly tuned, maintained and with properly balanced tyres, etc. It´s a true Grand Tourismo car!

The semi auto gear lever starting switch is clever, I had forgotten about that..I used to get driven around in one as a child and drove a manual and auto for about 30 years...I miss them mainly for the great ride/stability that modern cars dont have.

Great video and great car! Awesome to see it at speed, not many videos uploaded where can you see that. I can see it is very stable and does well for a four speed I think! Thanks.

I am surprised that no automobile manufacturers followed the Citroens Nitrogen and Hydraulic Fluid filled brake apparatus system. As it appears to be a much superior ride.

Richard Holmes : Mercedes licensed it & used it for their top cars for years.

Mercedes uses the Air suspension which is better than the Mackferson, but it's no where near as the Hydropneumatic. It's Patented by Citroen, and it's almost exclusive to Citroen,so barely any manufacturer can use it.

Rolls Royce used it didnt they ?

Think they used the Air suspension but not sure entirely on this one. Anyways,No other car rides as comfy as a DS. A car that was made 50+ years ago and still rides better than every other car.

Ciao Stefano! molto bello super giro in una leggenda, mi piace multo la Citroen DEA ;-) Anyway, I think this fabulous car would have deserved another engine like a 6 V cylinders as originally planned! That would "move" this car way above the 170 km/h showed on the tacho ... Unfortunately, at this time Citroen didn't dare for a better engine because of the selling costs... This decision made the DS a "car without motor" dixit almost all of the journalists of this time ... Nowadays in terms of "performances" the DS doens't compete with actuels modern cars , and even that makes "her" a legend!!! ... I honestly doubt if modern Citroen cars like C5 or C6 or some "DS" extra series will achieve the same legendary story like this car .... troppo male ;-) - saluti da un francese che vive in Germania

The small speedometer in the up left corner is totally inacurate. The car's speedometer reads 140 and even 180 sometimes

@Stefano Meroni I like the length of this video. More time to get a feel of DS stability, and sounds.
DS videos are usually too short- like they’re hiding something!
No need to watch the whole thing if one is easily bored!
