  • The Omiya Bonsai Village is the general name for the area on the north side of Omiya Park enclosed within the Tobu Noda Line and JR Utsunomiya Line. Known as one of the most outstanding bonsai cultivating areas in Japan, visitors can take delight in the bonsai all year round, as they change from one season to the next.
The area consists of five main Bonsai gardens, or Bonsai nurseries, including : Fuyu-En, Kyuka-En, Seiko-En, Mansei-En and Toju-En. The Omiya Bonsai Village has come over time to be not only one of the best places to buy and enjoy Bonsai, but also a place where a few very lucky people from around the world, come and learn the ancient art of Bonsai.
Please note that these Bonsai nurseries are private gardens and as such it is forbidden, without prior authorisation, to take photos or videos within the grounds.

Wonderful place. Love your approach. Still video as photography. Makes the trees look more majestic. Smooth and natural background sound is great too. Great video. Please go to Kobayashi.

Thank you, Leo! You get what we are trying to do Stillness or still in videos with subtle movements. Now I am afraid that I am not familiar with "Kobayashi", this is the name of a person, what do you have in mind?

TokyoStreetView - Japan The Beautiful Hello! When I saw your video immediately thought how wonderful combination it would make with the Shunka-en Bonsai museum garden of Kunio Kobayashi, one of the most celebrated sensei bonsai masters . My apologies as I wasn't clear enough . Your serene and impeccable style would suit his magnificent work perfectly.

Are there any public viewing areas where we can film? I'd love to take a video for my mom who loves bonsai.

Hi, no, not I am aware of. These are Bonsai shops and not garden per se. However the Bonsai Museum have an area for people to take photos of a few Bonsai (but not their best ones), or if you want you can still go and check www.tokyostreetview.com/happo-en/ and their Bonsai display, there you can take photos and videos of their Bonsai without any problems.

Thanks! The guides from the Tokyo Tourist Info site said nothing about rules about cameras. And I only just learned that cameras aren't really accepted in most places, even in public.
Love how beautiful and simplistic your videos are.

+TokyoStreetView - Japan The Beautiful Last year I visited Koko-en, in Himeji, and there was no restriction about cameras (afaik). They've got beautiful bonsai there, but they were not so numerous as in this video.

You can take photos and videos pretty much everywhere, but these are "stores" and like in other countries, people do not like having tourist taking photos in stores.

Did not had the chance to visit Himeji yet, will make sure to check Koko-en! Thanks for the tip!
