      1. PBS Documentaries
      2. Curiosity Stream

    This was so informative. I've honestly never seen a video that does exactly what the title says to completion with no fluff. Well done.

    I had not heard of Curiosity Stream before your post. Thanks for making us aware. I like documentaries, but am a big fan of PBS. I think their quality is excellent, so I am not in the market for any paid, add-on, documentary services. I am glad that PBS is free to the public so that its programming can be shared to the largest audience possible.

      Agreed, for what it offers PBS is such a solid choice. CuriosityStream is good, but we don't watch documentaries enough to justify the cost.

    Curiosity Stream is one of my favorite RUclips tv add-ons, so I always get it.
    I wish that RUclips tv would add the Curiosity Channel too.
    As for me, I see no reason to pay for the 4k premium package either.
    1080p is just fine with me.
    You ask in your headline if it's better than Netflix, and I say IMO, DEFINATELY. Netflix documentaries don't hold a candle next to CS.

      Agreed on both YT TV & video quality. We thought the video quality was really very good in our testing and saw little need to upgrade, unless you're a videophile. We'd tend to agree as well re: vs. Netflix, especially if you're more than a casual watcher of documentaries.

      I kind of also agree on the video quality. 4K is quite a jump in video viewing. I have a 4k TV display, but i dont go out of my way to only watch 4K content. Like you, i am happy with 1080p viewing. Good comment.

    Hmmmm!! - Interesting. Thanks for this information - did not know about this service. I currently have HBO Max which soon is going to be merged with Discovery+ in 2023. No idea of new merger costs.
    So i guess my question would be - How does Curiosity content stack up against the Discovery+ content?.
    Thanks again and take care.

    • @FrugalRules
      @FrugalRules  Год назад +3

      Of course! Good question. 🙂 Discovery+ is much more entertainment focused, being driven largely by unscripted lifestyle-type content, some originals, and not a ton of documentaries. CuriosityStream is solely educational focused - meaning only documentaries.

    The problem is, there are so many free stuffs on RUclips already, so much that I cannot finish to watch in my lifetime, why would I pay to subscribe to another channel?

    I need to unsubscribe from Curiousity Stream as I can't afford it. Please unsubscribe me from the Service immediately, I haven't used it, and I don't want it. I'm 100% Disabled, and I don't have any excess money for the Service. Please unsubscribe me immediately, as I thought it was free content available through RUclips.
