    When I first went to Japan a few years ago, to be honest, the toilet is the first thing I was so impressed with that I sat on it for hours without even having to do my business. First it’s heated. Heated! 🤯 I nearly cried at the level of comfort it offered. And second, it talks and third it plays music after each use. This isn’t even in a hotel, this is an AirBnB house I stayed in Kyoto.

    The school I went to had Japanese toilets. During winter I spent extra time sitting there cuz it feels nice and warm, such an experience!!😂. Japanese are genius, seriously.

    I like when he mentioned licking them without fear the reason people typically don't do that is because consuming harmful bacteria from urine or feces regardless of whether it's yours or not will lead to symptoms of fever vomiting and diarrhea but with these washlets you could have added in something like chocolate syrup or whipped cream

    As an Engineer i have to say, thank you Meshida-san and Ken-san, for the ever so "enlightening" background on how TOTO developed and researched @$$pects ... .oops .. i mean aspects of the washlet. To all those TOTO Engineers that took a hot one to the @$$ to figure out the optimum thermal envelope and performance regime.....     I installed the first bidet in 2020, entire family only used one bathroom for 1 year before I installed in the other bathrooms, I am also a Japanese toilet lover, Meshida and Suzuki San are awesome

    I stayed in a serviced apartment in Hanoi that had been built by a Japanese company in 2014. It was now managed by the Vietnamese.
    Unfortunately, the heated toilet seat would not switch off despite it being the height of summer in northern Vietnam.

    Meshida-San, I think the ultimate addition to the Japan Report would be and ideal background for you and Suzuki-San. Other than that,you 2 did a fantastic report. And special shout out to Lie-Chan for the song suggestion. Japan has truly set the Gold Standard for toilets, and the rest of the world appreciates it.

    I bought two of these installed in my new house, the exact model, Neorest, and they almost broke my bank account, and that is quite true that I sometimes skipped washing my hand because the only thing I touched was my clothes.

    Honestly... I've never used these. Even when I was in Japan I just treated these as normal toilets... so these features were wasted on me. I just ignored the spaceship controls beside me.
    At least toilets were clean and maintained, even ones giving off 80's vibe.

    I love Japan but I think it's a huge irony that they are super clean on one hand, (even using different shoes when entering the restroom) but don't wash their hands with soap on public toilets, though it's proven that washing your hands without soap barely helps to remove the bacteria. Not using soap is in fact very dirty.

    They used sell these toilets at my local Lowes. They were really expensive. They didn't play music though. Blame the French they started this.

      Perhaps if you want to discuss eating raw fish, you should ask about fugu. Fugu is blowfish, and it has to be prepared a certain way to prevent poisoning. Some people still get sick from fugu poisoning.
