Seeing Franklin Richard's call Ben Grimm uncle ben just hits different
I didn't even catch that.
The flag had been raised people.
RIP the Thing
@@TritonWaning OH NO
Don’t worry, guys. Ben is an aversion to that other Ben. Hell he flat out reject the whole “Great Powers, Great Responsibility” speech that Spidey tried to give Franklin in that recent FF comic.
Though in a way he is also Uncle Thing.
That rice...
The same people who strolled up to his parents and told them, to their faces “When he’s ready, tell him his real family is waiting for him”. Mad lad.
Those aren't fightin words.
Those are roll up to your hood for a massacre words.
That was cyclops.
Cyclops, that silver tongued devil. Lmfao
Joshua Alvarado
Cyclops bout to lose that tongue if he said it straight to Reed or Susan’s face.
Krakoa is for all mutants.
For some reason, seeing Magneto in the fetal position in Sue Storm’s ball was hilarious 🤣
So much for master of magnetism.
Mess with the invisible Mama Bear, you best beware.
@@HeilRay beware of what? He could kill her instantly lol
I'm wondering how well Susan's powers would work if Magneto inverted the polarity of her brain?
Daniel Loomis
And Susan could kill him three seconds before that instant.
Threaten to take her special boy? No instant for magnet man, she’ll show Eric and the X-men his bloody nuts in an invisible ball.
There’s things you just don’t do in the marvel universe.
Don’t argue with Cyclops, don’t offer Deadpool a chimichanga, and never threaten to take Susan and Reeds children.
*HellRay* all valid points haha
Reed is one of the most shady “superheroes” ever. Just on accident away from being Doom. Hope he’s depicted as such in the MCU.
Foxx Feo The Maker in the MCU could be very cool.
Reed is more a super scientist.
The super hero moniker is more to help other heroes sleep at night from the fear they wake up being Mr Fantastics enemy.
Ssssssh! Don't let the Joker hear you!
Man, Reed f--ked this whole thing up!!!
Well, when you opt to not cure cancer in fear that it will affect your bottom line for your research - yeah
I'd like to see what Franklin's roles in Moira's other lives were, if that's also a factor in the X-Men trying to get him to join Krakoa so urgently (besides the whole losing-power thing).
I didn't even think of that! I wanna see that too now
This story is going to change a lot especially from Reed Richard's perspective about Mutant and possibly Xavier as well
Hopefully. At least (ideally in the end) in that way the XMen have another established team who would constantly be on their side, or at least willing to help. Lord knows the Avengers wont
How else would they bring the Fantastic Four back into the Lime Light?
Reed Richards is the worst enemy to make.
*HellRay* words never said truer
@@HeilRay
Yes, Sue is a momma bear. Nice most of the time, but if you mess with her cubs she will end you, and it won't be pretty.
Reed on the other hand could create a targeted disease that utterly destroyed you, if he had motivation.
If he can mask a mutant signature I'm sure he could also target every mutant on the planet (or off it).
Franklin Richards is that kid you NEED on your kickball team.
That's one hell of a kickball team
Franklin is another version of Peter Parker in a sense, with great power comes great responsibility and he has a Uncle Ben.
He got everything that Peter doesn’t have, he has both of his parents, his uncles Ben andJohnny, a little sister. He is also a part of the fantastic Four/future foundation and the X-men.
I'll be real... I never saw it in that light before. Great observation. This is why I skim through the comments. Lol.
Warren L. Thanks homie
The whole time I was wondering; "What would Doom think of this?" and then he shows up...
I bet the opening line for the next one is from Valeria- “Hi uncle victor”
Doom: Pryde, Ororo, explain this!
Kitty: These kids stowed away on our ship; we JUST found them here!
Ororo: By the bright lady, do you children know what you've done??!
Val: Don't worry, I'll think of something?
Doom: You THINK of something?? Do you have any IDEA what reaction that YOUR MOTHER is going to have knowing that her children are with both the X-Men and Victor von Doom?? Stand down, people this is a crisis. Logan, do you have whiskey? Doom requires a drink.
@@infinitecontent8001 and now "Doom requires a drink" will be a thing for me! Hahaha
Pretty shady move by the X-men trying to take a kid away from their family. Richard too.
I mean they kinda established they become villain
@@codysingh2572 Nope
Krakoa remains above all a question of survival
Power of X explains that very well Mutants are not villains
Humans are villains
And by convincing the Earth to recognize Krakoa as an independent nation, Charles tries to prevent them from exterminating the mutant race with the overpowered humans
This issue deserves all the praise and coverage it's getting. It's the level of writing Marvel heroes deserve.
Thor: to me Mjolnir
Silver Surfer: to me my board
Galactus: to me my herald
Franklin: TO ME MY GALACTUS
See I think in a lot of ways the two former Illuminati members, Charles and Reed, are very much alike. Yes, I do agree with you that Reed is protecting his son in his own way. But like Charles in the past, especially with Scott, the secrets both men held back on their loved ones are pretty significant. So when Xavier says to Reed, “It looks Franklin has made his choice and we don’t have to do anything”,(Paraphrasing) Xavier knows what’s happens when the father or father figure makes choices for a young one with out them knowing it. He knows it usually comes back to bite them in the ass. Remember Reed is possibly the smartest man in the world but Xavier has a ton more experience with teenagers and getting them to adhere to his goals and dreams. In fact, I’ll say Xavier knew this fact before going to meet the Fantastic 4.
Yup this is bang on the money, with young teenage children to young adults in their early 20’s with powers & problems struggling with reality xavier has the most experience with young mutants from troubled family relationships to orphans to renegade kids.
Who else is really afraid that Reed is responsible for Franklin losing his power 🤚🏿
@Pio Pius We don't know yet
@Pio Pius hes too powerful and in order to make a decent story he needs to be depowered
@Pio Pius I'm not being cold Lols
@Pio Pius I'm aware Lols
@@theone3746
No you don't. I swear to God when people say that I catch a headache. When you have a op char you DON'T depower him. You treat him like a old Greek story. Give him a problem where his powers don't matter. Or something that requires him to use his power outside the so called norm.
How odd that they don't mention the events of Onslaught in this issue? After all that was the last time Xavier came after Franklin and that didn't turn out so well.
You act as if they did that with their own free will. Onsalught was a separate entity altogether
There's some arcs which it seems the comics rarely bring up and Onslaught is one of them.
I usually wait until all parts are uploaded so I can watch them, but I absolutely love Franklin Richard and I had to watch it now
I heard doom so i clicked lol anything with doom & i click faster than his doom bots!
Hasn't the behavior of Xavier since Dawn/House of X essentially been very similar to what Cyclops was while he was running everything on Utopia. No one has any issues with how Xavier is behaving though, but why Cyclops was behaving this way it split mutant-kind down the middle.
How you can tell a Franklin is becoming a rebellious teen?
Dyeing his blond hair, black like he has My Chemical Romance on heavy rotation...
He's turning into an emo
Ugo Eze when one comment can predict your age group. Lol
So when are you covering Max Faraday
6:25 "uncle ben".... Ngl i had to rewind to make sure i read that right 😂
Secret weapon to lure hormonal teen Franklin Richards to Krakoa: Kitty Pryde
Robert Jefferson... The KING of cliffhangers!
Zdarsky has been doing some really great things at Marvel...especially his Daredevil run. When ya gonna cover that, Rob?!
Ed Mackey that’s a good idea rob
Rob; "...but with that being said-"
Me: "No, Shut up. Don't do this."
Wesly Z 😂😂
Right I just want him to keep on speaking, that’s why I like the movie length videos
Ah when Doom shows up you all now it’s going to be an party :D
so what happens if Professor X scans Franklin richards mind. gets his DNA and clones him, just in case the FF gets Mouthy
lmao
But he never showed to do that...
Hell Yeah! Next issue...”Doom on the High Seas!” Lol
9:34 Shmi Skywalker didn't seem to mind too much.
The power source is not running out, more like Franks powers would be replenished via that power source and his connection to said power source has somehow broken down
Which is what i think reed has done
Whatever Reed did to Franklin to mask his X-gene is probably blocking it.
Reed probably being a dick.
Tushnim Yuvaraj good theory! Similar to how Wanda (when she was considered a mutant) is channeling chaos magic and cyclops’ eye beam is channeled from another dimension
I'm calling it Reed Richard's is responsible for his son losing his powers. Until they name someone different, I'm 99.999999999 percent sure its Reed.
Most likely, but if he is then we know there's a bigger reason for it. And I think I already know what
Reed is the type of person how thinks of every possible scenario but regarding Franklin it's usually pulling parent fear total universal destruction and it's warranted with Franklin level of power but as usual Reed pulled a ace up his sleeve and just made the problem worst
He will have to release his power block on Franklin once the Sentry/void goes nuts and he needs to be stopped
@@shadowx8145
I don't care what the reason is. Its Reed Richard's hes automatically wrong.
Such a failed comment
Dope! Please keep covering this story. Love the FF
You’re the best
My commute to work is soo much more enjoyable
Keep up the great work :)
all your videos are great.. tried to read just a comic and said nope need you to do it bro.. keep up the good work do all the comics im sure we will all watch them.
Awesome!! Rob please keep coving all the X-men and FF titles. You were doing it for a while but you slowed down a bit. 😊
Bro you explained life with ease at 6:10 that was dope
does Franklin's power drain have anything to do with that entity named Entropy the FF encountered recently? Entropy drained his powers somehow, I didn't see the conclusion to that arc
This first issue has got me so damned hyped I can't wait for #2!!! Thanks for the video Rob!
I was worried you weren’t going to cover this lol I’m super pumped for this story
This what I was waiting for!
Can't wait for part 2!!!
Franklin: I can resurrect Galactus and create a whole universe whenever I want. I can do anything I want by just thinking of it and happens!!!!
Thing: Hey Frankie my boy!!! Can you help your ol uncle Benny out and help me change back to human whenever I want?
Reed: Nah
Frankie........has left the chat
Franklin Richards could actually transform Thing/Ben into a normal human, but Ben actually doesn't want to. In the 80s there was a story where FR became an Adult (Avatar), that version of him could change Ben Grimm but Ben's subconscious mind didn't want to change.
@@kylvarvoglar poor writing if you ask me. He could give Ben the ability to control his transformations just as well.
It seems like itd too easy to do.
Not without needed drawbacks.
Well, when he did restore Galactus it did also break his powers too. It wasn't till his future self came along that he got them back.
Yes it's a pothole but that would betray the main theme of the things character.
Or... hear me out, Reed is being the same controlling ass he's always been and might be interfering with Franklin's powers
This time it felt right considering what he's dealing with.
If a family wanted their child to stay with them and the island Xmen wanted to take their child, they could do nothing but watch helplessly.
Mess with Fantastics son against their wishes, you wouldn't get out of it in one piece without some mental scars.
@@HeilRay The FF are strong enough and Franklin himself? That the choice was always going to be on their side and not letting Franklin have any say at all? No, Reed is in the wrong.
*HellRay* um.... so what if Franklin genuinely wants to go to krakoa after making his own decision? And u do realize there’s other reality Warpers in the island, don’t u?
Maverick Li
Yes, and There’s ONE Mr fantastic of the fantastic Four if they’re lucky.
Mittens FastPaw
Reed is a parent and Franklin is a kid living under their household.
Reed doing what he did is comparable to a parent taking the keys to his truck so their son can’t drive off to join some racist supremacy gang.
It wouldn’t stop him, but it slowed him down.
If you grow up seeking the approval of your peers, your parents failed you.
What are artist if not seekers of adoration for their talents?
Yeah but if you can't think for your self then they've also failed you.
Rob, I appreciate that you are thorough with your commentation and knowledge about comics and actually some subjects in general, even if you and I don't agree that Hugh Jackman's Wolverine is crap. I listen to your videos while I work and I may have read that comic but you give some history and open my mind to different aspects of what was written. Thank you
So far so good..i am liking this story.
Need part 2 NOW!!!
So where is Legion? With Xavier being back he could’ve easily brought Legion back and helped him control his powers like he did a while back.
what no peace at the end rob!!!!! PEACE must be had
I read this last week!!! Loved it
I’ve read Dr Doom in FF4 and other books since the 70’s. Funny thing, the man hasn’t aged since. Comics.
3 things I got from this:
1. Sue's reaction was exactly what Lois reaction SHOULD'VE been when Jon left. Lois should've lost it .ALL MOTHERS will fight to death for their child.
2. Why I feel like Frankie's and Kitty's relationship...is um more than friends. I know there's an age difference but still.
3. Bout damn time we got some development with Frank aka Powerhouse... I always felt that was his fatal flaw.
1 sue is freakishly op in terms of her abilities 2 kitty x Franklin could happen but most likely it'll be similar to wolverine and Kitty's mentor/student relationship especially after what Reed did to his son so kitty is going to be the only person in krakoa Franklin will trust and 3 Franklin will most likely learn how to deal with his current power situation as well as deal with his issues regarding reed
Lois Lane is no mother that's for sure.
"1. Sue's reaction was exactly what Lois reaction SHOULD'VE been when Jon left. Lois should've lost it .ALL MOTHERS will fight to death for their child."
@@Akkbar21 no the problem is that Mothers are naturally protective of their child. Sue's reaction to Frank was realistic. Lois and Clark seemingly just allowing Jon to go with Jor-El who was a sketchy character already. Yes you have to let your kids go at some point but the difference between Sue and Lois is that Sue naturally went ballistic while Lois was upset but was like okay. Mind you Jon was 10 and Frank is about 15 so the roles actually should've been reverse. Would you let your TEN YEAR OLD go to space. Would you let your teen go to a weird island that has APOCALYPSE and Magneto roaming about? HELL NO
Which is why i hate Bendis cause I love Jon Kent. To me Jon is DC's version of Frank as far as development and potential.
Those illustrations tho!! 😍😍
Yes, people tend to forget that how powerful Susan is.
She created a force field around whole planet
+ Make the planet invisible for how long we don't know
+ This planet size force field hold against Sentry that was under the Void control, so he wasn't holding back whan he punched this force field.
Eventually it broke, but she was maintaining it while under attack by individuals that have the power of one million exploding suns.
yes, keep covering this :D
I would say Sue storm and Magneto are a stalemate
They are indeed.
My cousin used to say Franklin Richard was a nobody when I would pick him as someone to have on my team. I knew I picked right kid is a power house but adult him is OMG
Finally, the return
X-Men is best thing coming out of marvel rn
justin wulf 100% agree. Only thing better would be a Galactus/Thanos team up series.
Immortal Hulk is a good read.
Venom ain’t bad either, and I second Immortal Hulk
I just want to say that I truly value your efforts to be a long term form of
entertainment during this whole quarantine thing, I have made other comments on your video's since this began and god alone knows how many years I have been sub'ed Rob corps (where's my ring?) so, D.C. Marvel, Image , Dark horse, doesn't matter to me. Just thanks.
Great story Rob... I used to read Power Pack in the eighties.... Please do LEGION of Superheroes .
Mister M beyond omega level
I saw this comic and thought to myself, Rob's gonna cover this
Franklin looks like Namor. I'll leave it at that.
The artist for the main FF book actually used Sam Alexander's design for Franklin and copied Sue's design for Val. It's pretty noticeable.
I havent touched FF in a long time im actually shocked to see how much Franklin has grown.
This is gonna be a good one. I can feel it.
Everytime rob says "and yeah" a stranger nuts in his face.
Reed Richards , would go to jail for child neglect if Susan , and Ben wasn't around.
@antwan1357
But Susan IS around. It's called a *NUCLEAR FAMILY.* It's a quaint concept in 2020, I know, but they still exist.
You can't put the guy that built a super prison for world threats.
Jails he can just stretch out of them
@@Akkbar21 I believe it's already been asked in the FF plots, but is he really saving the world, or choosing to run or control his family. It very well could be possible that he could have done both.
No he would not, and the Fantastic Four is a family unit.
Fun Fact: Franklin Richards superhero name is Powehouse though unlike his parents his superhero name isn't said as often as Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman.
love this freaking story man!!! please keep up this fantastic story..... sorry for the pun. lol
I feel the Mourner at the end of all things, or Reed with Molecule Man's powers did something to Franklin.
Is my boy Franklin Richards the ONE above ALL
Franklin Richards & Galactus merged into a singular being lol .....I wanna see what that being looks like 🔥
It's just Franklin Richards with Galactus' helmet Lols
I just got issues 1-3 and pre-ordered issue 4! What an amazing story!
I love Susan storm so powerful like seriously always wanted her powers
Didnt Shaw un-alive Kate Pryde in the latest Mauraders issue?
Ye I think we have to assume this happens earlier but I think this may be one of the first continuity errors with all the comics coming out atm
it can be happening sometime before since kate isn't in her pirate outfit, but it could also be happening at a later date where she was already brought back or somehow survived.
We don't know when in the timeline this story took place. So that makes things really hard.
Maybe but then she could just be resurrected
More than likely, she doesn't really die.
X-Men here becoming more like Inhumans here.
Rob, You should do a to powerful for the MCU Wiccan because I just read one of the comics and he’s like crazy powerful!
@8:03 I think Rob just created the Marvel Gumbiverse.
been waiting for fantastic four to hype up a moment like this. it just took the xmen to make it happen. excited to find out what will happen in this series.
good background song
Really like to read this books
Franklin is still under their roof, and as such, and at his age, they still have right to make these decisions for him.
Holy crap this story is awesome
Me hearing Franklin's powers are dwindling. Franklin says to Ben Grim the Earth is looking mighty taste.
I couldn't understand why Kitty was flying the first pages of the issue because in my head, I thought Storm was levitating her..
But then when I saw her flying with Franklin, I got lost in my head...
Susan can kill them but she isnt more powerful.. X can easily mind warp him.. Storm can one shot her.. Bobby can easily flash freeze her, Magneto can take her out to..
Susan dont hold a candle to those mutants.. she is powerful and her shield can block attracts but it cant block telepathic attack.
@Alex Wolf as can Magneto! Storm can fry her brain in a blink of an eye.. X can make her forget that she even exists. Iceman can freeze her heart ir brain..
She is not the only one capable of these things.. Iceman cant even die..or need air to breath I think...
@@afro_princess1671 Susan is very capable and can give those mutants trouble, Obviously she can't handle telepathic attacks but she could of crushed Magneto when he was in her force field, Her shields blocked attacks from celestials and the Sentry she's more than capable.
@@cheeseburgerfreddy6350 i never said that she ain't capable.. and IW blocking the Celestials r bullshit, I will say that..
Eric wasnt even fighting her.. and the X-men did not come to fight, that wasnt their goal.
Sue is powerful but she ain't beating Margneto imo.
@@afro_princess1671 Its not Bullshit Lols you assume she's weak, she even blocked Galactus' attacks before that's not bullshit it's how powerful she is don't lowball Sue because the mutants you name have a lot of "BS" feats
@@afro_princess1671 I kind of feel the same way in regards to Susan. I don't think people are sleeping on her, because a great deal of fans know she's the most powerful member of the FF4. I believe the reason is the fact that some people are makng out to more than she actually is. Basiclly saying is taht she's powerful but not that powerful.
But i'm curious why do you think IW blocking Celestials is bullshit? Not that I'm a fan of that feat.
Picked it up for the Art. Didn't regret it. Cool story. Hope the artist stays in this book. I need to pick up more Marvel books anyway.
This kevin feige way ordering a story to form the basis of xmen fantastic four team up movie
Bring back Smooth Rob,. please. I miss relaxing to your videos.
Ok, I’m going to go buy this series
Talk about the DAREDEVIL SERIES!!! AND HOW IT RELATES TO TMNT.
????
First off this comic was AMAZING!
I couldn't believe the all out arrogance of the X-men, your gonna take a kid from his family, his Mother? That just happens to be Sue Richard's! She will fight to the End, NEVER underestimate the Bond between Mother and child.
I'm glad that you pointed out that she is one powerful lady, I thought of her blowing up their heart's with small space bubbles.
Very disappointed in Kate and Storm, other than a Brood neither character has been a Mother.
I will add that Reed does screw up with Franklin, but are you going to mess with one of the World's greatest mind's? You don't think this guy can't put a mutant power dampener together?
Franklin is raging with hormones, but like Reed said in a couple of years he could have made his own decision.
I totally sided with the F.F. on this one.
Can't wait for #2!
Anybody else notice that Dodson really jacked up Prof X's helmet on the cover?
franklin and valeria are one of my favorite young characters, next with wiccan and speed, moon girl and hope summers.
Do a video on Susan Storm Powers😂💯💯
You mention how Sue can kill "every single mutant there" with her powers... but we just saw Kate passing through her force fields.
Kate can move through Sue's force fields. So in a fight of Sue vs Kate, it wouldn't be that clear cut which I find entertaining because they are more similar than people think.
both women started out with pretty simple powers that seemed to be just defensive: Sue turned invisible, Kitty became intangible.
But both quickly learned new aspects of their powers that lend themselves to effective fighters: Sue learned how to create force fields, Kitty learned how to use intangibility offensively. They both still learned more about their powers as grown women and still have more applications then people expects "such simple powers" as invisibility and intangibility.
So Chip openly admits that the mutants are villains. When will Hickman do likewise?
Hmm, so I'm kinda confused but curious. When Sue is inside her force field could Magneto use the metal she might have in the force feild to attack her? And are her shields able to block telepathic attacks? Cuz if they can't I really dont see how They would beat her considering she blocked attacks from the Silver Surfer and a few lower level cosmic characters.
I freaking love everything related to Dawn of x storyline.
Hey I have a question about these diagrams you put on the screen. Are you making these things or are they in the comic book? I am asking because can't find them anywhere I want to read them all the why through.
I NEED MOOOORE
