    I just did the same swap in my 1989 ls brougham but for some reason I can’t get it to run without putting fuel in the carb bowl

    Nice project.i have a few questions relating to the swap.
    1 what sump/oil pan did you use.
    2 what's the compression ratio.
    3 what back axel you using.
    4 what gearbox has it got.

    • @AKANEWK
      @AKANEWK  3 года назад +1

      Stock axles and rear end, stock compression ratio for the 5.3 LS, and I used the Gm LS hot rod oil pan from summit

      Question, I have similar setup with msd red box. I'm having backfire when I try to start, eventually it starts though. Did you have similar problem?

    • @AKANEWK
      @AKANEWK  3 года назад +1

      I didn’t have any issues. Make sure all of your coils are good. Also make sure your cam and crank sensor are good as well

    Clean job i like it 👍
    A word to the wise change that weak oil pressure line try to get the stainless steel braided one i think its around 35$ or something like that because the nylon one like you have always break or leak and it's going to be hell to get that thing cleaned from inside the car not to mention the oil smell so please don't cheap out on this one :) for me i just went to the electric gauge route, and are those exhaust manifold from an ls2 or the truck manifold? Because mine are the truck ones and didn't work specially on the passenger side one of the studs hugs the frame but the driver side can be managed but it also needs some work :(

    • @AKANEWK
      @AKANEWK  3 года назад +2

      Those are stock truck manifolds. And that pressure line was temporary

    LQ4? Stock heads? What cam?

    • @AKANEWK
      @AKANEWK  4 года назад +1

      Stock heads, sent to machine shop for new valves and a valve job. New springs and seals. Stock 5.3, stock cam. 862 heads. Runs great, put around 390 miles on it already, no issues
