The Stormtroopers in the first films are actually so accurate they were missing intentionally. Supposedly, they were specifically ordered not to kill Han Solo (just as an example), and during the opening scene of A New Hope, if you count the amount of shots fired by the Imperials vs the Rebels as well as the amount of casualties sustained by either side, you'll see the Stormtroopers are far superior to the rebels, and that's BEFORE you factor in that the Rebels were all in cover and formed up, and that the Imperials were essentially coming in, one by one, single file through a doorway under heavy fire.
Stormtroopers are pretty badass. Especially TR-8R.
Yup, I wish more people knew this.
They planted a tracker on the Falcon, wouldn’t make sense to take them in. That’s how they found the rebel’s main base.
That makes sense for A New Hope, when they need Han, Luke and Leia to lead them to the rebels, but in Empire and Jedi, the troopers suck just as much. I agree that some troopers are pretty cool, TR-8R is a particular favourite, but the vast majority are average at best
@@JoshuaHillmanatorHillman I mean I get the joke but its suspension of disbelief to me. In all action films the goons can't aim. Its just plot armor. We follow the characters who aren't allowed to be hit so of course the troopers don't appear to be very good
I like when Brad has familiarity with the topic, because then it becomes more of a dialogue rather than a monologue interspersed with questions
I love Karl mentioned Equilibrium...anyone who love gunkata/gun-fu NEEDS to see that movie..it's goofy..lord can it be goofy with how over the top the gunkata get but it's one of the best "guns as a martial arts" movies I know of. Ironically enough in most of the fights the hero is in with the regime..the biker helmet wearing mook soldiers have about the same ability to hit him as a Star Wars Stormtrooper..from point blank range with machine guns.
I love your format. Hate or love it , you always try and be honest about the quality and the intelligence of the movie. You guys are great. Please keep up the great work. And Karl get a new green tattoo on the other arm now 😂
He had to power up because he really wanted to force clap Dem cheeks and that was throwing off his gangsta.
im sure Anakin was controlling the robot suite with the force the entire time and along with robotic assistance
Maybe finn was a sociopath
I personally think The Last Jedi has the opposite effect in The Force Awakens. At least with me personally I loved The Force Awakens and after The Last Jedi, not only have I noticed the mistakes of The Force Awakens but all of the plot lines left open at the end of the movie are completely ruined by The Last Jedi
Because pain literally fuels the Darkside of the force
Yes and no it's not just pain but hatred and anger as Well as dark emotions and other intense negative feelings pain is just one way to them but very few can use it in combat with Kilo also failed to do properly. He was hitting the wound to get angry but lacts the focus or self discipline to use it probably a prime example is Savage Opress and Darth Maul they could use there pain and suffering for greater focus and strength because of there training not just by wacking themselves in the gut a few times
Have you heard the tragedy of Darth plageuis the wise?
nobody it’s not a story the Jedi would tell you
Oh yeah I know that one... wasn't a big fan, I prefer comedies myself, like the hilarious tale of Kylo Ren
The title of the original video is the reason I didn't watch it.
Honestly quite happy to see your take is more nuanced than the title suggests.
It's not just "ReY Is a mArY sUE foRcED DIversITy" again.
I should never have doubted you Karl.
She is though..lol
God she really is, I'm sorry.
I find it funny the clone troopers have more soul and personality and are literal child slaves then the storm troopers who are from all over and mostly join up of there own free will
You've made the Finn character more interesting here by bringing up the terrible writing, because it could be that he's literally a psychopath manipulating everyone around him (like Darth Jar Jar). Him being happy about killing the stormtroopers, his old friends, in the Tie fighters at the very first opportunity is just his mask slipping. He just likes killing people and being vindictive and spiteful, and doesn't give a single crap about anyone but himself., but he has to keep up the pretence that he's actually a decent guy because he's not got what he wants yet.
I enjoy your take but I look at it as more of he wasn't able to resist the indoctrination as much as he thought and while he doesn't like killing innocents he will kill people he thinks go against his morals. Kind of like the Justicar Cyber-Knights in Rifts by Palladium. It shows the duality of people and how even within one person thinking things is a straight GoodvsEvil is a bad idea.
Austin powers cut scenes when he kills dr evils hench men are class, maybe Star wars should of done that.
Why do people just trust Kylo Ren? He may have been lying the whole thing
The legends time line books are awesome, it's much more indepth the books are legends books are way better really good reads.
Yes yes yes yes
Personally I say they could have just skip the whole bullshit with Luke's lightsaber and they could have just explained it as oh Ray found a crash imperial starship somewhere on the planet didn't have to be a desert planet didn't have to be a frozen plant it could have been a forest planet it could have been a savannah planet it could have been a planet mostly made of water the point is they could have made it where she found any old lightsaber then proceed to have her believe its Luke's lightsaber she finds the nearest rebel Outpost and says do you know where Luke Skywalker is and made the majority of the movie about her trying to find Luke Skywalker to return what she believes to be his lightsaber information from a spy in the rebels going back to the imperials has kylo Ren hunting her down because he thinks that somebody has found his grandfather's lightsaber and that could have kick-started the whole movie of Ray finding out she's for sensitive not because of some BS but because I don't know she falls off a cliff or something's about to fall on her and she instinctively uses the force to protect herself that would make more sense then oh you tried to read my mind I'm going to resist you using the force that I don't know that I have and somehow become a master user of the force even though I've never used it up until now hell you could even explain away her using the force through her life go more in detail on her backstory instead of the whole oh yeah three movies from now we get the Revelation that she's the granddaughter of palpatine and she's only so good at the force because genetics which is b******* and if palpatine really wanted a powerful host to live inside of why doesn't he just wait for Ray to have a kid with kylo and then take over the kids body instead of taking over Ray's body or Kyla's body because then not only would he have a child who is the most powerful force user in the world because it is a palpatine and in Skywalker mixing together but still the point being you could go into depth about her backstory maybe make it more interesting instead of her being sold to a slaver instead maybe have it to her parents taught her about scrapping or at least her mother you know maybe explain that her mother is not for sensitive or that she was for sensitive and she taught Ray how to use the force but told her to only ever use the force in the most extreme of circumstances now hell you could even show her as a kid you know collecting scrap using the force and her mother comes up and tells her to stop stuff like that there was so much you could do with the character but instead they wanted to make the character as bland and as universally liked as possible which only resulted in the fans getting angry and those who defend the character of Ray seeming like they don't know anything or they just wanted a power fantasy and didn't want to deal with a character who had no flaws you know and it's for flaws you could make gray overly emotional you can make her psychopathic stuff like that help you could even say that she killed her own father by accident using the force stuff like that it would explain why she's able to use the most basic of dark side Force Powers I wouldn't go so far so she has Force lightning but certainly say maybe she is the force choke or the force crush you know which I don't think there's a difference between two but still it's still the massive point the character could have gone in any direction but they chose to tell the character no sit here in this one spot never f****** move and will tell you if you're getting better they went with detail don't show method of character development I mean she gets the ability to force heal without ever showing that she trained and the Jedi text that they made a big deal out of they never show her reading them they never shows they survived the lightning strike hell they don't even explain how ghost Yoda was able to call down Force lightning and strike the ancient texts all I do is have her stand in front of a mirror that is a dark side Nexus on a light side planet so in other words they wanted the day go best scene but they didn't want to build an entire set that couldn't be cgi'd and they didn't want to use a puppet for the most part outside of the CGI version and the whole series just looked crap the story stopped making sense when the leak started happening they should have just canceled the movie and we shot it with a different director and a different writer I mean I know that one of the writers was trying his best to fix the story and one of the other writers was messing it all up by rewriting the script rewriting the characters all that and this is a multi-page tangent at this point but if you do read the end of this I'm not an angry fanboy I am a person who likes to write stories in their free time who is angry at the fact that we could have gotten an epic tale that could have made its own three spin-offs on its own didn't have to have anything to do with the real trilogy to begin with but instead we got a story that a five-year-old could have written and that most likely the New York times would have fucking published and called it the world's greatest book to ever exist 10 out of 10 Stars
havent you talked about this before?
Ray is force sensitive because she is woman and movies need more female heros who are perfect at everything they do.
Also Rei was already a great fighter
Spider-Man and his amazing friends! It’s Rey, and that’s true. She learnt to fight and survive long before she even knew or developed force abilities
Renee Knezovich Knowing how to use a staff does not equate to knowing how to use a sword in the same vein as knowing how to use a pistol does not make you a sniper different skill sets for different weapons for example I know how to use a mace this does not translate into knowing how to use nunchucks throwing stars or a blowgun all of those things have to be independently learned that’s not how shit works basically
@@charlottewalnut3118
Yeah so? She a magical space wizard. Fucking relax
Theres a big difference between being a good fighter/brawler and being a highly trained martial artist/swordsman. For example Luke, who was the most powerful force sensitive to ever exist, besides his father Anakin, was trained under the exiled Jedi Grand Master Yoda and Jedi Master Obi Wan Kenobi (A Jedi known for his skill in defensive lightsaber combat) lost in his first fight against Darth Vader, not through Vader's superiority in the force but because Vader outclassed Luke in both experience and skill. Imagine having a decent street brawler who is somewhat decent in fights and knows how to wildly swing a stick go up against a highly trained and experienced martial artist who is a master in multiple forms of hand to hand combat, doesn't make much sense for the somewhat decent street brawler to win does it?

Kylo Ren had just gotten blasted in the side with Chewie's bolo caster. A weapon shown to blow entire vehicles apart. He was at a very weakened state. Plus, Kylo Ren was hardly centered in his mind. Frankly, by the time he Rei the chips were entirely stacked against him.
