- This video reviews Briggs and Stratton’s P2400 generator. It provides a high-level walkaround of the unit, its features, and some load testing to understand the quality of power it delivers. As always, please share any experience you have with this generator so we can help folks make more informed decisions when purchasing this type of equipment!
One oversite in this video was that the QPT was never turned “Off” so we didn’t see what type of resultant decrease in voltage sag that would have yielded during a heavy load.

A great review. Very comprehensive and yes, I just purchased one.
Great review, I have this model, and in my experience, if you are running various loads, shut off the QPT. It seems to run much better.
Great review.
Excellent review. I waffled between the B&S P2400, an Onan P2500 and the Honda EU2200i. I will be a very low hour user and the Onan offers 2200 running watts which is excellent and Honda quality is hard to beat but the price is ouch! Eenie meenie miney mo. It seems that you are hesitant when you posed the rhetorical question "Would I recommend it to a friend?" Another area you did not discuss, and this I have experienced personally; when the SHTF the first thing to disappear even before food is gasoline. This recently happened to me but there is no such a huge run on Propane. Think about it. As soon as people talk about an interruption of gasoline everyone heads to the gas station, Propane has a much lower priority, It would have been interesting to see what is involved in putting a propane conversion kit on this gen. The advantage in propane is availability, it doesn't deteriorate and it doesn't gum up the carb especially if you are an infrequent user.
I looked at dual fuel generators but the offerings are not as attractive as the gas only which can then be converted. Like you, I am leery of "white label" brands and low volume models for the reasons you provided.
Be interested to see the output sine from off-->full heater load with QPT turned off
We will certainly add a bit more testing when we do thr parallel comparison.
Thank you for this review. I just bought one
I'm looking for a small inverter generator for home use. A large chain retailer here in Canada has these on sale for CA$499 (50% off), which is like US$375. I think I'm dropping by tomorrow to pick one up!
Well done review. Thank you! Is it made in the USA?
Oversees. It was mentioned at the end of the video.
As a first time user, this is a great video in explaining the device and how to use it. BUT your chord should be laid out fully, with NO BENDS OR KINKS in it.
Can u do a video replacing the pull string ???!
Hi. Does B&S P2400 require coolant?
Nope. It's air cooled.
you know you wanna build it for torque test. come oooon
Does this generator have any form for petrol filter ?
Nope... no inline fuel filters.
However, it wouldn't be too difficult to add one.
Wow it’s loud
Does engine built in China? What is model & type?
Who is engine manufacturer?
Did you just say you dont know why a generator has usb ports!?...its so you can charge your phone and other electronic devices! Come on man, could you really not put that one together?
