I built my 42009 set without the clutch gear, it's suprising how much it can lift with a singe change. You should try that. It doesn't damage the motor, it just stalls, and doesn't strip the gears.
this professionally made video, with matching music, interesting presentation and creative locations reminds me that youtubing is indeed a proper job where enthusiasts keep raising the bar whilst doing what they love . ps: loved the subs
Very interesting video, but you should refactor the results, depending of the respective scale of both models. I mean 42009 has a smaller scale, and can't raise its boom as high as 42082, but if you refactor, i think it's at least similar heights or even perhaps inverted results... and so on for almost all the measures :)
There is no way I would just sit and watch 42082 just bend like that until it snaps! I was clutching my throat in fear for the poor Lego pieces! I wonder if Lego will work on making their cranes in the future more capable of actually lifting a decent amount of mass!
in the end the 42009 is still easily one of the best technic sets that you could have bought, I would love to see you do a review on it someday like you do with the newer sets
something i see here is that even if you extended the arm of the 42082 a little to the level of te 42009 it would be quite sturdy (i have a 42082 and it is very sturdy when not extended much) and be able to lift with no breaking but still the height of the 42009
I have the MKII, I bought it brand new at Legoland Orlando along with my Technic Unimog U400. However after displaying the MKII for a few years, I decided to "scrap it" and use parts from it for attachments for my U400, the only remaining parts of the MKII that are still together is the middle of the carrier chassis lol.
Schönes Video, but du hast den gelben Kran falsch aufgebaut! Die “Scheiben” zwischen den Radiatoren glaub so heißt es, sind falsch aufgebaut. Denn dann wäre der Ausleger viel höher.
Hello hello, i had a question for you sir, is there anyway to find complete bags for older sets, i bought the 42082 and it was mussing the last bag, how would you find the pieces to complete. Any information will be greatly appreciated thanks
Regarding the price, I can get a new 42082 for 278€, no used ones. While there is a used 42009 for 110€ that I can get. Should I get the 42009? Both have a few c models, though 42082 has more large ones
Hi there, Can I please ask you if you know how to fix LEGO Technie 42009 Mobile Crane MK 2 Building Error?? At 3:30 you show a building error on LEGO Technie 42009 Mobile Crane MK 2 and at 4:19 the mobile crane boom gose higher than at 3:30, can you help me please??
Sorry I Take way too long like 3 Weeks or more days to replay back to you, I hve to do other things on those day and got no chance to say, Thank You for helping me and tell me how to Fix the Buliding Error on LEGO Technie 42009 Moblie Crane MK 2,
5:05 ooooh the bending on the 42082's boom looks so bad. The 42009 is based off a Liebherr, and the two stage boom gives it more ruggedness and doesn't bend when extended that much at all. 42009 is the grandfather of the 42082, so lets all give this retired veteran of the technic lineup (42009) some respect.
It would be surely nice to show all cranes produced since the introduction of 855 but I don't have them. I had these two so I compared the ones with the highest piece count.
Wow I'm a crane operator and wouldn't pick up the weight with all that boom out like that bring it closer to the crane suck in all the boom and then maybe
Are you sure that your compare is OK? You forgot that Crane 42009 has 2500 pieces, Crane 42082 - 4057 pieces (40% more). This is the situation like you compere bicycle and Harley Davidson motor.
I did not forget it, still these are the two largest cranes made by LEGO. The size or functionality difference does not necessarily come from the different piece count.
@@RacingBrick considering how many of those pieces are gears I disagree. Its like comparing a 1/8TH scale vs 1/10th scale model. I can see what you were going for, its just not really fair. Of coarse the one that cost heaps more and is bigger will be better.

Nice battle. I personally like the 42009 much more. The lifting capability could be easily improved by doubling the wire in the pulley system.

@@UnitSe7enno, it wont. LEGO motors are safe and can stall for ages.

42009 is the best Technic model in my mind! it has stayed with me 5 years~

It was my dream set back when I was a child, but unfortunately they removed it from shelves once I got a job typical.... 😂

42009 is much better looking though.
Better in real life too
That’s because it’s designed after a mobile crane. Mobile cranes like that generally have a higher working load limit as well.
Year release?
yes i think so
I like 42082 better, I don’t know why

It’s a bad comparison in lifting the weight, cause the cranesbill Lift, when the boom if fully hovered and that’s not the case.

42009 might not be the best crane
But it’ll always be my favorite technic set ever

I saw the mention in the summary about lack of suspension, cranes don't really have a suspension it would make them to unbalanced
But thats using logic and common sense. This is youtube remember.
Cranes have airsuspension.

I don't think there's a prepared list for that. You can check the instructions and count / take note of all parts used in that specific section.
I have them both and the old one struggles a lot more...
they are different scale, can't compare IMO
Most LEGO machines are different scales, I compare their features and playability
Vastly different prices too.

I have multiple videos about that set, suggest to watch those

you can lift more wheight on the 42082, you have to replace the clutch gear with a 24 tooth gear
