The new i-864 form that expires 12-31-23, does not have interactive form fields like previous editions. This was purposefully done by Homeland Security so that people would have a harder time filling it out, hoping it would cause some people to make mistakes, which in-turn, lets them deny more cases. This was a small retaliatory action from Homeland Security since they are understaffed (due to the pandemic), which contributed to them getting sued for being too slow with cases.

I only have IRS certified 'verification of non filing' and 'wage and income transcript' which verifies zero income and zero tax returns. My husband who i am sponsoring pays taxes in our home country. 1-After you filling out the PDF form on you computer , can you also sign it using the track pad or stylus in case of touch screen devices ? or do I need to complete the form on computer and then print it out , sign by hand and mail in (USPS) ?
2- can you submit a I-864 form online .from what I can see in ceac.state.gov/ site there is a section for upload document ,which is confusing ! Can this form be submitted online or does it have to physically mailed?

Thanks a million for this video. Although its from June /2019 I got plenty info to help me with my form. The lady was very detailed however on some critical points input was not provided to make it very clear. To be specific on the page 4 - part 6, line 7 current income, I was assuming for the amount it should be entering the gross income stated in your tax return of last year, but it is not. She takes the current year salary 47K and that is very different from the 83k from John's taxes prior year. Very concern with my case because due to COvid 19 I Iost my job in the middle of July /20 and I I am receiving unemployment help. Anyways, it was very informative and you deserve a LIKE and of course my subscription to your channel.

Hello just wondering I am filling up my I-864 part 3 number 29. Enter the number of immigrant you sponsoring, I put 1. And in part 5 sponsor household size number 1 said provide the number you entered in part 3 item number 29 is blank and I can not put 1 but in number 2 Yourself automatic 1. The household size is automated 1. As I watch your video the household size is automatically set 2. But on mine it’s just 1. I can’t even edit to make it 2. My I 864 expires 09/30/2021.

You did not explain for part 5 # 6-7. And my question on that is .
If the petitioner has previously filed n obtained green card for the mom but the mom doesn’t live with us. So we still add her on the form as part of the household.

This is confusing for me. The instructions on USCIS for this form say to put my wife's name and address for section 2a in care of name? This is confusing because you're advising to put my address even though she's not in the US with me and we're going through the consulate in her country. Can someone please help clarify? I don't want to make a big mistake

Hi, thank you very much for this video! I just have two question: I'm petitioning only my wife and I'm the only one sponsor, so can I use I-864EZ form? And I filed taxes only the last year because before I was the full time student, so can I write a letter-statement explaining that I was a student and didn't file taxes and it will be sufficient, right? Thank you for your answer in advance!

Thanks for your reply. But I need to specify 2 things I forgot on question 1. My wife is abroad now and is pregnant and will be due in around 2 weeks which form should I use? I-864ez?
3- for my child case, should I just wait until he is born before applying (for everything included my wife) or should I continue with the procedure and just apply for the passport. I am a US citizen and have been living in US for more than 5 years and I am 30 years old.
I know that in this case I won't need to apply for I-130 for my child because she will be born when I am already US citizen.
    Thanks

Thank you for making this very useful informative video. I have couple of questions. I'm filling I-864 for my mother in-law and father in-law. Also, combining my father's income to meet the poverty guideline requirements. Do I have to file separate I-864 for each or just one I-864 is sufficient for both where I put 2nd intending immigrant name in family member 1 under Part 3. Also, does the joint sponsor have to fill I-864 even though he is filling I-864? Hope to hear from you soon. Take care of your self. Bye!

14:14 Part 5. sponsor’s household size. Actually if I mark 1 for questions 1,2, and 3, my household size on Q8 is “2” which is correct for me and my spouse. In the video you tell us we should not add a “1” on Q 3 because it would reflect a household size of “3” and increase the amount of money to meet poverty line. Am I correct or what should I do? It contradicts the video and the video is showing my exact same case: husband and wife.

Is there a problem if the petitioning sponsor was required to file taxes for the last 3 but only filed 2, including the last one. Should we just write 0 or didn’t file on his 2021 year? My husband has a co sponsor because our son doesn’t make enough income to sponsor him anyway. Thanks!

Hi! I noticed in this video the narrator is not putting any N/A or None in the forms which USCIS tells us to do when filling out and leaving no blank spaces. This is a bit misleading. Can you please clarify if we should be putting N/A or None for all blanks like family member 1 - 5, province and postal code (if residing in US) etc.?
