I'm from Co. Cork in Ireland. I absolutely loved hearing all about your trip here. It is so lovely to hear you both had a wonderful time in our beautiful country. Make sure you come back! It's the land of a hundred thousand welcomes - Céad míle fáilte (hundred thousand welcome in Irish). I'm sure you will have seen our unusual looking language on all of our street signs! We don't speak it but we do learn it at school. I'm sure the Irish Tourist Board will be very delighted to hear all the beautiful things you have said about Ireland and her people ☘
I was so lucky to be driving from Galway to the Aran Islands years ago (my husband is a Dub). There were small painted signs along the way that said “hand knit sweaters.” We’d drive down a smaller road to a small cottage and go in to purchase beautiful Irish woolen hand knits. Back when “Cottage Industry” really was people knitting and selling out of their cottages. My husband was a fireman in Dublin and tells of a co-worker whose family had an Irish knit sweater business - like so many, he knew the traditional cable patterns by heart and would knit Irish sweaters when the station was quiet. I’m so glad you got to Power’s Court to This Is Knit. What a gorgeous spot and terrific yarn store.
Realised this morning that I’d only watched the first 45 mins of this episode! I’ve had a lovely morning listening to you talk all about your trip while I knit and drink coffee. Your trip sounds amazing! And is something I could actually do as I live in England. Thanks for highlighting the fantastic yarns etc xx
I loved hearing about your travels in Ireland. It brought back wonderful memories from my 2018 trip. Listening to the two of you chat is like visiting with friends. 😊
Was in Ireland four years ago, and it was the best vacation of my life. We felt so welcomed by everyone and safe wherever we went. I recommend it to everyone.
Thanks for telling us about your trip. My best friend and I were with a group of knitters in Northern Ireland for a week . We went a week early and spent our time in Dublin and the surrounding area. We loved it and you are so right everyone was very friendly. " I will walk with you it is just up the hill and then left"
I'm literally on the edge of my seat this whole podcast- tell me more! I have to get to Ireland. You lucky ducks. Thanks for sharing all that you did and the joy you had there. We feel it!! Love the Galway intel as well - it's important to keep these traditions alive!!
I just love Ireland. I’ve been there a few times. I bought many sweaters knit by lovely Irish knitters. I bought several from home businesses on the back roads. these sweaters are over 20 years old and are like new. I do take great care of them. These knits last for years.
I’m Irish but haven’t been to Ireland. It’s on my bucket list, your information gave me so many things to add to my eventual itinerary. Your sweaters are lovely, and I’m thinking I will add “Spacetime” to my shortlist of sweaters to make soon. 😊 Love you ladies
It was so good to see you both after so long. Tracie, your sweater is gorgeous! That pattern is definitely in my queue. I LOVED hearing about your trip to Ireland!! I am going on a UK cruise starting in London the end of August. Unfortunately, we will be in Dublin on a Monday, and This is Knit is closed that day. :( However, I will be researching other shops and hope to bring home some yarn souvenirs!
Girls, I love your 'Podcast' and what a pleasure it was for me to escort the F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S. 'Grocery Girls' and their entourage around the 'Emerald Isle'...come back soon! ❤
You could make a little lavender bag with the lace. Sew a plain matching color back and tie with ribbon. I got one already made as a gift and it’s really nice.
Your trip to Ireland sounds fantastic. I love Emma’s podcast. Her commitment to natural dying and Irish yarn is amazing. I cannot wait to see where you go on your East Coast knitting curse. I live right near Boston and am wondering if you guys would do a meet-up?
I enjoyed watching this podcast…love your dress and cardigan❣️ is there some design of a different color yarn on your right sleeve? Your daughter’s crochet items were darling!!
OHHHHHH loved seeing all the Ireland Things, I have a trip planned for this September to Ireland and I am so excited. Now I have more places and things to check out.
Love and hearing about the tour. I think you should come to the west coast of Canada and the US. Vancouver island?? Seattle?? Lamb & Kid??? Come do a cruise here !!
I highly recommend also making your way to the north coast of Ireland if you get the chance to go again. Northern Ireland has stunning scenery and the people are also super friendly and will give you a warm welcome.
Loved your podcast.. too many things to say, but do you think you could make a rainbow mini set that matches your little sweater? I know you have some rainbows, but I like the softness and the pop of the cold you picked. really want to make one for my two year old granddaughter.
I love the Hand Maiden Rumple yarn that U r knitting. Couldn’t find the bias wrap pattern that U get for free - HELP. I DO WANT TO BUY THE YARN USING THE PATTERN THAT U R KNITTING IN THIS PODCAST. JUST LUV THE 2 OF U AND SO GLAD THAT U R BACK MAKING MY DAY A VERY PLEASANT ONE TO ENJOY❤️🙏🏼.
Tracy, quick question I love your sweater. Could you tell me again who/what is the pattern and would you suggest this for a beginner.? The red is just beautiful. I’m I’m jealous. I am such a want to be knitter.
I have some yarn for Spacetime in Sport. It calls for DK but I guess you got gauge changing needle size. I love it on you and the color is great. Great pattern.
I have good news and bad news…the bad news is that the leaves in NS won’t be giving you a show at that time. They peak in mid-October, September is still pretty warm. The good news is that Tracy’s Rolling Yarn Shop will most likely be parked on the dock.
Did you write down the tour name you took on these knit shops in show notes. I want to go to lreland sometime and would like to go on the tour you took.
Yes totally enjoyed heraig about your trip. I also have good news. My daughter gave birth last week to a tiny prema boy, Gustin, he is OK and has started drinknig form the breast yesterday.
Hi Ladies you are way 2 cute soooooo glad you had a wonderful time on yr trip. Did anyone give you the name of the app that chooses colours for stripes? Thanks 💋❤️🇦🇺
Knitting portions are good but the pushing of all the personal care products is a turn off and actually sad.stick to knitting not being a sales person for products to punch on women…
And here I thought the big news about the cruise is that I’M COMING 🤣🤣. And I am so excited to be spending my 65th birthday with all of you 💃🥰

Very nice to see the Aran ribbing. I have been twisting my stitches every 2nd round for years. It makes a nice even fabric.
