Kashmir is named after Kashyap Rishi. First masjid in Indian sub continent was build in 8th century in kochin till than not a single muslim was in India. Muslim population increased significantly during the Delhi Sultanate and than during Mughal rule when forceful conversion took place. All the present day muslims if look and do research for their own past they will definitely get to know that someone from their forefathers was Hindu who was forcefully converted to Islam.
