I have had mechanics do me favors by offering to do additional work than what they charged me. Sometimes it was because I said I can’t afford all that because the repair bill was already large but sometimes they just did it. Mechanics have given me rides home when I had to leave my vehicle. I have dropped off little happies for them at the shop during the holidays. Judge Judy probably has never smiled at her mechanics let alone gifted her mechanic anything. Also one of my former employers took the company fleet to one particular mechanic. So I would take my company car and my personal car there. I think they had a vested interest in keeping the employees happy with our personal vehicles so we would not complain to our bosses. They made a lot of money from servicing our company vehicles.
I don't think Judge Judy's mood was helped by the plaintiff being unprepared and trying to duck a question, while the defendant ignores her shushing him. Hopefully her lunch was good to get her back on track.

It is a complex of primer, then matched paint then the clear coat. And no, all mechanics are not bad. I have an impeccable reputation. Long story short, do your due diligence before making any decisions.
