Love this tutorial - managed to paint my Kairic Acolytes using this guide, and damn they look great ! (I still need to work a bit on the blue gradients/glazing to get a better hang of it, to stop overdoing it. Guess that will come with practice ).
Will you be doing a paint tutorial on the Gaunt Summoner model? That's stressing me out on how to paint that models. You paint your models well. Thanks!
+The War Gamer brilliant! I'll look forward to that. That's all my models built & primed. Between reading the magazine & watching your vids, I'll get there with them.
+lantern gardner I thoroughly agree, I am hoping that we will see them getting the same treatment as the Blood Warriors and Bloodreavers from the Age Of Sigmar starter set and getting their own kits soon.
Exactly, I have wanted fully tzeentched up mortal followers just like Khorne since first seeing the blood warriors/reavers. It'd be a nice step up from blue chaos warriors and the (discontinued) forsaken kit. Really nice work on the paint job btw.
Great video. Love the skintones. Regarding the grey undercoat - do you find that it makes a difference to the finished paint colours, or is it more of a personal choice?
+Craig Withers Personally I don't see that much difference in the overall finished piece. I think if you layer up your base paints enough to give a good solid tone you won't get a desaturated finish. For how much easier it makes apply brighter colours over a black primer I personally would opt for grey.
Ideally I would use both, prime first with black then dust over with white from above. That gives you some really nice pre-shading on the miniature. However, if I had to use one then it would probably be black. White is generally better for bright models like this but I find it's often too light for my own tastes. You could get away with using black though as all of the areas get a Citadel 'Base' paint base layer. This gives you a really nice starting point in which to build up from.
+Will H For the other golds I experience the same issues as yourself, however Retributor Armor is a 'Base' paint so has a higher pigment content than the others. This makes painting your first layers that much easier.
Love this one. The skin in particular is great, especially the different colour for the feet.
+Hawken Valhalla I really like the subtle mutations on these guys. Not quite as 'in your face' as Nurgles gifts.
I found this to be ever so useful; sometimes just having an idea of where to start is handy in itself. Thank you for taking the time to post.
You're welcome, thanks for commenting!
I still come back to this tutorial even after like 3 years, so many good things, I've used the skin colours like 10 times.
Brilliant paint guide very helpful and easy to follow.
Looks great! Love the neat "Dothraki" sword too!
It is a pretty awesome looking weapon
Really good tutorial. Love the skin and the transition on the feet.
I'm not going to lie that was the part I was most pleased with the outcome of.
This is your best mini to date mate.

Will you be doing a paint tutorial on the Gaunt Summoner model? That's stressing me out on how to paint that models. You paint your models well. Thanks!
The poll on my Thaumaturge video is overwhelmingly in favour of the Gaunt Summoner so it looks like that will be next.
+The War Gamer brilliant! I'll look forward to that. That's all my models built & primed. Between reading the magazine & watching your vids, I'll get there with them.

hi would you be able to do the rest of the minis to this game please as I love you tutorials thanks
these guys and the tzaangor need their own kit!
+lantern gardner I thoroughly agree, I am hoping that we will see them getting the same treatment as the Blood Warriors and Bloodreavers from the Age Of Sigmar starter set and getting their own kits soon.

Really nice work on the paint job btw.
Fantastic work! Is there any chance you'd do the the rest or most of the other Silver Tower miniatures?
+Nortic111 There may be an avianesque beastmen that is currently being painted...
The War Gamer Aaaah (conspiratorial wink)

+The War Gamer Thanks, I'll order some in along with the rest of my new paints. Looking forward to seeing the Tzaangors.
did you not prime the mini first? Edit: This is a really excellent tutorial by the way - I hope you do one for every Silver Tower miniature!
Yep 0:34
haha thanks, that what I get for watching without sound! If you were to choose black or white instead of grey, what would you use? Thanks!
Ideally I would use both, prime first with black then dust over with white from above. That gives you some really nice pre-shading on the miniature.
However, if I had to use one then it would probably be black. White is generally better for bright models like this but I find it's often too light for my own tastes. Реально круто мужик, продолжай в том же духе!
Tzeentch Sorcerer Lord for the expansion!!!! PLEASE!! I'm begging you! :p
How do you do the blue gravel base? Tutorial anywhere?
nice bro
+sanguina555 Thanks :D
AWESOME!! TZEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNNNNNTTTTTTTCCCCCCCCCHHHHHHH!!!
+Skarloc The Wanderer Easily my favourite chaos god.
When you paint the base after the model is done. How do you make sure not to paint over the feet.
Do the war priest
What is the grip that you attach your model to while painting?
+Michael Cross It's a Tamiya paint pot with a big blob of blu-tac on the top. Cheap and a perfect size.
how does your gold cover so well? all of the gw metallics i have tried need a few layers
+Will H For the other golds I experience the same issues as yourself, however Retributor Armor is a 'Base' paint so has a higher pigment content than the others. This makes painting your first layers that much easier.
+The War Gamer ah, cool. Thanks!
Crap, I've glued my shield on before painting them separately. Idiot that I am. Lol
I did the same lol. I regretted it a lot - however I managed to live with it, and painted it fine, but it was difficult and awkward as hell ;)
why do you say in the title the model is from age of sigmar but it's from silver tower?
It's actually from both. Silver Tower is set in the Age of Sigmar universe and the Kairic Acolytes can also be used in Age of Sigmar.
oh
Good tutorial but feels very rushed :(
