  • Had this car for 4 months now and sorted out all of the issues it had, good time for an initial video on this fine piece of French automotive delight. I do plan to do more videos in the future focusing on what to look out for when buying a car like this and all the quests I had to embark on to find and fix mine.

I had one in silver. 2.2 petrol with 163 bhp. Owned it for about 2 years and put 35 thousand miles on it. The car never let me down. Still looks good, not too many around now.

If this car had been produced in 1939 before the Battle of France, they still would have lost the Ardennes. But they would have looked good doing it.

They are not that expensive, I fell in love and after searching a couple of months the 4th one I found was good enough to buy. Keep an eye on Autotrader, Gumtree and OLX. These are excellent cars

      Paul Roux Hey there Paul!
Just getting in touch to let you know I got my hands on one! Gold 2009 3.0 v6, and I absolutely love it.
I'm a little disappointed about the Say Nav issue, but I'll just get an aftermarket unit down the line.
Hope all is well with you.
      Regards.

KING BEER Running costs are not that high, or at least not since I've had the car.
Have yet to take it in for a service though, so who knows. The petrol increases have hit us all in the pocket, but hey, what can you do about that?

P.K Dionysus You tell me my friend, I am from Portugal, we are so fucked around here. A shame.
My father has a 407 SW 2.0 136 HP and it's fine tho, is there a huge difference?
Talking about the Coupe 2.0 and not the 3.0.

Great video! I'm going to buy a black 407 coupe 100k fsh one owner £1.4k 2.7 hdi and egr dpf delete remap the gearbox & ecu for quicker shifts and 250bhp 400ftlb should be nice at that level something like my Alfa romeo 2.4 jtdm 20v 5-pot :) iv had 205gti 306 2.0 16v cabriolet. Looks like a great tourer for around Europe maybe 50mpg cruising after remap. Seats look comfortable

Correct. Front bumper needs a complete respray and there are two minor dents on the passenger side.

@@Rouxenator hi Paul - Matt here from Joburg 🇿🇦
Coming out of an Audi A5 3.2 V6 ownership experience (4 years of...) in looking for a “different drive” - I just test drove a P-406 V6 petrol (Svelte, Soft-ish and Sexxy as a southern France redhead 👩‍🦰 ) and straight after climbed into a P-407 2.7HDi = a proper Hard Man “put the foot in the corner” driver’s car 😈👹 = will get into beeg trouble with new AARTO regs coming soon
2 VERY different cars tho - Hhmmm which one ???? Both similarly priced options 🤔
Am looking at testing the Renault Laguna Coupe V-6, if I can find one 🤷‍♂️
However - question is how has your 2 years of ownership been ??

@@captbiggles2808 I had the car for 3 years and sold it last March. Made the mistake of fitting a Chinese pirate A/C pump shortly after getting the car and eventually it blew up taking the whole A/C system with it. Worst part was the stock unit was bench tested and there was nothing wrong with it.
So I still would have had mine if it was not for that issue. They are lovely cars, just keep in mind parts are pricey and have to come in from France (couple of weeks). The 2.7HDI was shared with Land Rover and has a list of known issues, all fixable. The 3.0L manual petrol is awesome.
I now drive a 2015 Astra 1.6T that has slightly more power than my old 2.2 407, but the ride is nowhere near as nice.
