Really interesting situation and one that I thing so many more people would get great value of doing. We do it as a family where my Mum and Dad have their house, we have ours, my Sister and her husband are planning the build of theirs and we are on two adjoining blocks of land that basically make one. We are rural and I don't work, so I tend the land and most of the animals, Mum and I both garden and we have a couple orchards that we are building up. My girls have the benefit of not only their Dad and I but their extended family too and I truly believe it takes a village to raise kids and that is exactly what this system offers while being better for the earth too.
