This video made me cry. I'm an adult woman. But I was that kid. When I was 11, my friend and I found her mom's stash of her shade. We each took a box and dyed our hair. The color was only a few shades darker than mine, but when I washed it out and I looked in the mirror. In that moment, for the first time I was happy to look in a mirror. I saw that my hair could be my outward expression of the imagination and art in my mind. It was a canvas. I've never looked back. My hair is different all the time. Today I re-bleached my hair (I had a nice silver) and decided to bleach my brows, too. I was so unsure of what I'd done to my brows, and about an hour later, I saw this. It couldn't have come at a better time. I was so scared, but only of what other people thought. And as always, Mother Monster scooped me out of my sadness and fear. (Also, my hair and brows look amazing.)
I suffer from Asperger's syndrome. I have behavioral issues because of it and I'm bullied because of it. I also have axiety and suffer from depression. My friend mentioned this song to me last year and I listen to it everyday because she mentioned it. This song got me out of depression and it was saying, I am who I am and that's okay! You go Gaga! I had been attached to my hair since I was little, but when I was 5 I donated my hair to wigs for kids, simply cut it and handed it to the lady and I was happy. I used it to hide my face, my shames and insecurities. I blasted this song when I was getting my hair cut and cried my eyes out, a weight was lifted and I could finally keep my head up. It's beautiful when you find yourself, strive for that.

when i watched this when it was on tv, i was crying my eyes out, it's like i know her as a person, shes got me through so much, she gave me hope, she taught me to just be myself, and i hate it when people call her 'ugly' and 'weird' and they basically judge her because of her looks, looks arent everything, personally i think shes beautiful and has the BIGGEST heart, i love her sosososo much
