@Geekyranjit: It would be great if you could make a video comparing various SoCs such as Kirin, Snapdragon, Mediatek, and Exynos in the low and mid end. So that end users would have a better idea. Also, qualcomm has a near monopoly now, which is why phone prices are getting jacked up.
I'm that guy who loves wiring these stuff than actually listening to it! I also completely made myself one of the home theatre in the house. I designed the amplifiers, filters (by doing all the calculations), made my custom PCB from JLCPCB (China) and hand soldered the premium quality components. I also made my own speaker cabinets out of MDF. It really sounds great. And it costed a fraction of what expensive commercial products cost.
TDA2030 IC is a popular choice as it's cheap and descent sounding. It's a class AB power amplifier with built in output stage. 4Ω and 8Ω speakers can be hooked directly at the output, can provide about 10W output power.
We use a Soundbar since we don't have an enclosed room. A 100W RMS Soundbar with subwoofer is more than enough for a medium sized room for an average listener. If you don't have an enclosed room and if you're staying with family, it'll be a nuisance for other family members and the neighbors. Conclusion : There's no point in spending a lot of money on a proper Home theater if you don't have a dedicated soundproof room.
Yeah that's what ppl don't get it you need a proper enclosed room with some sound proofing for a proper home theater setup and most homes these days and if you live in a flat it's difficult to have that hence soundbar are way more convenient.
I am setting up a gym. Can anyone suggest me what should i go for soundbar or home theatre. And no i dont have soundproofing. And i live in the first floor and my gym is in ground floor. Guys would love suggestions. Thanks
Recently bought JBL 5.1 soundbar 510W @ 45k. It comes with Dolby DTS & 2 wireless speakers. Its a beast. Sound way better than other soundbars with only exception of BOSE soundbar which is way too expensive. Now JBL launched 9.1 soundbar too which is around 80-90k, out of my budget.
Mam changed the room setup.. Meanwhile ranjit sir - "generally this is what we see.. I've no list of pros but just cons of being married.. as u can see, this is very wrong and wives should stop doing this to us.." 😂
It also highly depends upon the room size/Service Area which often is not mentioned by many reviewers. For room size upto or under 200sqfeet 2.1 sound bar system is recommended. Upto 350sqare feet 5.1/ 7.1 is generally recommended. If your area is 500sq feet or more than it is best to go for AVR system.
I guess ppl living in small rooms and want a minimalistic lifestyle, a soundbar is recommended (modern soundbars built-in amplifiers are almost on par with home theater anyway)
You explained it so well! I would request you to make a video about why do we need an AVR in proper 5.1 setup. Because people in India are still buying and preferring conventional 5.1 ready setup from brands like Sony, Samsung etc which doesn't come with the AVR. Thank you❤️
@Airbus A380 Buddy, just got a new Samsung Qled tv and it simply not outputting virtual 5.1 surround from my soundbar as even there is no option to switch to dolby. Its playing in stereo. Whereas, my 6 years old tv plays it properly.... i think it's some kind of hdmi cec issues or something. Can ya assist me plz ?
My Samsung smart tv Netflix only has 5.1 output.. Not Dolby Atmos My question: If I play Netfliex 5.1 content on dolby atmos sound bar with only sound bar and sub woofer ( no rear speaker). Is it effective? Or Dolby atmos soundbar is not that effective at playing 5.1 content?
After seeing your last few videos on sound bars, I was also thinking if we can get your professional opinion on home theaters vs sound bars. Thanks for making this video.
the huge gap of performance between sound bar and AVR system is to be taken into consideration, but you need to take into equation HT system with wireless satellite speakers. One cannot replace the surround sound you get with speakers....so please check options for HT systems with wireless speakers and then you can provide comparision between three...i am sure it will get down to cost then....!
Well put sir, Soundbars have come a long way since their inception. I feel, a pair of good quality TWS compatible Speakers would give us much better theater experience. It's a cheap hack for those who want the theatre experience.
I have Onkyo 5.1 AVR system which is nearly 7 years old. It came bundled with 5 satellite speakers and a passive subwoofer. The satellites are so so and eventually I replaced them with Yamaha speakers except the subwoofer which is really nice. For front channels I am using Yamaha NS-8390 and for center and rear channels I am using Yamaha NS-P51. The output... you have to listen it yourself to believe it. It's true, for an AVR system you need to have a proper room and you have to plan before hand. Sound bars are compact, hassle free, easy to setup... but they really miss that punch of a proper AVR home theatre system. But the most important thing is that AVR systems are for audiophiles and soundbars are for others. And another thing, how expensive a soundbar maybe, it will never match even a mid range AVR system with wooden speakers. According to my opinion, if space is a constraint, then go for a soundbar. But if you plan to buy an AVR home theatre system, don't buy an HTiB setup i.e. with bundled speakers. Buy the receiver and the speakers separately. It may become a tad expensive but it's worth spending the money.
Totally agree!! I've had the lot from soundbars to surround sound packages and then from budget AVRs right up to audiophile grade AVRs and the biggest noticeable difference for me, was moving from a surround sound package to a budget AVR and a pair of budget speakers!
How do we get the sound from the TV with the Bluetooth headphones connected? We just bought a Sony Bravia X80J Smart TV with a pair of headphones for my friend who is hard of hearing. However, once his headphones are connected, no one else can hear the TV. How can we fix that?
Well explained and totally agree. I had a Denon/Mission theatre setup, but now we just have a Polk soundbar and I use good headphones. We have small children and they're always running around the lounge, poking speakers and pushing them over is just not worth the risk and stress with an expensive setup.
I'm a fan of traditional speakers and amplifiers and have a 5.1 Yamaha system at home. That said, the other day I went to a store and listened to a JBL soundbar + subwoofer that costs $500 and completely blew me away. The sound had that punch in your face that you get in the theatre for a fraction of the cost and space.
Any opinions about Samsung Q800T soundbar, please just share your thoughts. It is 3.1.2 Soundbar+Sub-woofer. Rear 2 Bluetooth speakers are optional and they are wireless.
