Wonderfully explained. Thank You so much. Highly appreciated. I have a query, do you recommend Samsung sound bar for Sony TV. To be precise, Samsung Q990D Vs Sony Bar 8 for Sony TV.. which is recommended? Please suggest
I recently bought a Samsung q990d Dolby Atmos system. It’s a 11.1.4 channel. The kit includes a soundbar, two rear speakers and a subwoofer, all for 83k!! I have to say I’m blown away by the sheer excellence of sound quality and surround it puts out. I’m suprised you haven’t mentioned it in your review. Samsungs have been pioneers in sound bar technology since 2014. It retails for $1500 in the US. in India I bought it for 83k on great Indian sale which is a sweet sweet Bargain!! I’m aware that 80k is a stretch for most people including me but it is so worth it. I’ve seen so many reviews before considering it and the q990d beats soundbar systems which are twice to thrice more expensive. [ex:- Sonos arch with 2 era 300 and sub gen 3! Ahem! 😷] Truly impressive!! It’s even called the GOAT of soundbars. Samsung products are fairly priced in Asian markets and are worth every penny of your hard earned money. Thanks for the video anyways I watched the whole thing. :)
@@Hazel1Esker-nc6yn hi sir, small rooms are very good to get immersed and enjoy content. You won’t need the sub and rear speakers. If you can get just the soundbar without sub and rear speakers it’ll be perfect. Will suffice 💯. Something like Samsung q800c (5.1.2 channel) or even q600c (3.1.2) both of these come with a soundbar and sub will do the job perfectly for way less money. Hope this answers your question. :)
@@nandish4545 Thank you so much for your great advice Sir. So is it better to drop 990d for my room size 9.5x12 feet? But 990 has more future proof features like AirPlay, Spotify Connect, Alexa etc compared to 800c/800d also 600c but 600 doesn’t have AirPlay, Spotify features which makes us play songs casted from phone to soundbar through Bluetooth which decreases the audio quality output. And I also heard the drawback of higher models like 990c/990d that there is real magic only when played at high volumes & in small rooms we cannot keep the volume high, hence we don’t get the real magic of the higher models. Please help me on this Sir.
@@Hazel1Esker-nc6yn my upstairs living room size is 18ft*12ft and at volume 15 my setup gets sufficiently loud with good surround but at volume 24 it gets loud enough to make my mother scream from downstairs asking me to reduce the volume but at 24 the system sounds so incredible!! What you said is true 💯. Q990d feels much better at higher volumes. I didn’t know the q800c and 600c dont support airplay. I don’t use airplay much. I have an Apple TV 4K and premium subscriptions for Netflix and hotstar which offer 4K for most content and Dolby atmos for some content. Dolby atmos is a game changer on the q990d I might add. Dialogues and BGM sound much more crisper with atmos content. If budget is not an issue and listening to music comes first to you then then I suggest you go for a Sonos arc or arc ultra. Sonos is much crisper(better) for music. Just the Sonos arc or arc ultra(latest) soundbars alone perform great with music and would work beautifully without the sub and rears for your room size. If the budget permits you can add a sub or two rears or both according to your need in the future. Sonos arc or arc ultra is a solid investment IMO. can’t go wrong there.
The explanation very understandable, with zero knowledge anyone can pick right soundbar after watching this video, but missing JBL brand in the recommendation, may I know any reason for that ?
Unlike other electronic products you need to listen to sound of each speakers. Spec sheet don’t do Justin to its quality or listening experience. Each have their own sound signature and listening experience changes. Individual who go to showroom for demo may choose entirely a different sound bar after demo because some like bright, warm or neutral sound signature. Never buy any speakers without listening to them. A Sony speaker may sound much better than Bose or wise Versa depending on individual listening tastes. Sound is to experience not read spec sheet numbers or reviews. So it’s highly recommended to have a demo before buying.
Using Sonos ARC, Sub 3rd gen and 2 Era100 for rear. If your budget is high go for newly launched sonos ARC ultra. And yes the recent updates fixed their app related issue
Unlike other appliances, you have to listen to choose when selection audio equipment, specially in the premium category. Reading the spec sheet won't do justice.
Honestly, it’s more than just reading spec sheets. It’s combing through hundreds of user reviews, watching 10s of videos to arrive at a conclusion of what’s good and what’s not. But anyway, each one to their own objective opinions.
@@TheGrapevineIndia Indeed, it is subjective. Not questioning the research behind the content though. For example, if you want to invest into an ecosystem where you can build on in the future rather than replacing, nothing beats the Sonos. You can get a Arc/Beam now, and maybe add a sub or satellites later. It will all work as if it was a single system out of the box. Similarly, the title might be misleading. Comparing pure soundbars vs "sound systems which also include a soundbar" isn't an apples to apples comparison IMO. A soundbar with an in-build sub cannot compete with a soundbar with an external sub, same as a soundbar cannot be compared with TV speakers. The physics are completely different. Software capabilities are also to be considered. E.g. Bose 600 supports both AirPlay and Google Cast, but Sonos only supports AirPlay. Also, the Sonos app is buggy AF. The Google Assistant, although supported, doesn't really get enabled for most users.
Ideally one should listen to the audio in your room environment, which is not practical. So you will have to rely on spec sheet and what you hear in showroom - if you are setting up a home theatre setup. Just for louder sound, soundbar is okay. Also you can’t check entire frequency range performance in showrooms.
Ofc it will. You can search on the web what all does the arc port support. eARC is an upgraded version of arc but arc is amazing itself and you won't need eARC
Does matching the tv brand with the same soundbar brand make a difference? As in, is the lag/performance better when the Sony soundbar is paired with a Sony Bravia tv vs a Samsung TV?
While latency will not be an issue, some brands, like LG and Samsung, have features in certain models that allow the TV speakers to be used in tandem with their soundbars.
Great video, good recommendation, also when I suggest my friends I always tell them to buy with always 2 HDMI, cause budget tvs dont give atmos output, its fake, so you can buy a firestick or apple tv and get atmos if you have 2 HDMI port, or if there is only 1 HDMI port then you have to spend on upgrading your tv that too only top ends give proper atmos.
