- Thanks to Whalebone Magazine for inviting us out here to Montauk for a week of surfing & enjoying our time with friends. Absolutely stoked to be able to come out & surf some of the waves I surfed as a kid. I have so many epic memories from coming up here & surfing contests with my family when I was a grom and it's really cool to relive the experiences with some of my old friends like Travis Beckmann & just simply enjoy surfing and good people. Bro I watched your doc on Amazon last night. As a fellow recovering person that is attempting to build my own legacy and dream I can relate to so much of your story. I'm approaching 6 years of sobriety Dude willing on July 18th. I was addicted to heroin for almost 25 years. I started heroin at 13. I wasted my teens twenties AND 30s in prison rehab or hopelessly addicted. I don't surf much anymore but I'm down AC almost every Sat and Sun with my boat. Like dude,I got a boat 😂😆😂. Never in my wildest dreams. I can tell you this with absolute certainty that if you didn't get sober and do all this and allowed myself and the world to follow your journey I wouldn't be here today. I always keep an eye out when I'm coming in or out the inlet for you. I'm hoping to get one of those soft tops and try to start surfing again. I got 2 fishes but I smoke like 2 packs a day 😂. I just want to thank you bro I posted a couple sharks on here I got last week off AC if you get a moment

Why isn't the Catch Surf Tour not stopping at El Slammo? The best soft-top spot in Jersey if not the East Coast and the team is just going to bypass the spot. I can believe BeefsTv is going to let this happen...
I used to love taking the trip up to Montauk from OC. We’d get a house for a week every year and it was non stop stoking with the boys. I also remember a Whalebone surf shop on OBX at Nag’s Head.

This vlog rocks!! Keep them coming. Always wanted to go to Montauk when I lived on the east coast but never got there. 16:45 I have been in that situation before a month ago at Esquimalt Lagoon though the waves for me were 4 feet with very little interval. It make surfing tough and I got smoked by it. You and the others out there are legends and faired far better. Keep crushing out there Legend!!
It used to be amazing, i cant imagine what its like now on the island of NO's. Grew up on long island and spent many nights camping out there in the fall, winter and spring. Used to renegade it on paul simons property at the ranch... lol. The old bunkers were a cool spot too til they boarded them up solid... but so many good spots out there all the way from south hampton pond (when breached) all the way east. But turtles will always be one of the best spots there.
Chevy gotta love talking up the mini, lol. As a mountaineer, that song is sacred. Dad and my roadtrip song was On the Road Again.

That's the best time of year to surf Montauk in front of the Surf hotel or by the Lighthouse on a large swell in the Autumn.

Actually Ben you were riding the girls bike and jverni was on the dudes bike. The space is for girls that are usually shorter than guys can touch the ground and is easy to get on and off. Just so you know in the future.

12:14 Not to be nit picky but Ben actually got it wrong. Jordan is actually on the "guys bike" and Ben is riding the "girls bike". Notice the upper frame bar is much lower on the seat post compared to the one Jordan is riding. Its more of a old school tradition from back in the day so girls/lady's in their dresses wouldn't have to lift their legs as far to mount/dismount the bike, plus it gave a spot for their long skirts to hang while riding without interference. Wouldn't want our queens showing to much of their ankles back in the early 1900s now would we?
