Over 20 years ago I visited the YMG workshop in Korea, I got a 63lb bow, I was so impressed by it, archers back in Australia never saw such a thing and thought it was a toy, only people that tried to shoot this tiny little lightweight thing realized how fast and comfortable to shoot it was. that lasted me until last year when it delaminated😢 excellent bow. I’m glad Korean bows have gained increased recognition over the years.
Korean bows have an interesting lineage and historically Koreans were considered master archers, including shooting from horseback. Very interesting stuff... closer to middle-eastern and turkish bows from what I can gather. Cheers
I don't own a traditional Korean bow, so I can only guess as to how they shoot but at this high poundage every bow would probably have a flat trajectory at 30 yards..😉🙂 🙂👍🏻🇨🇦
Those big foam grips on Korean bows are supposed to be carved and shaped to your liking and then covered by wraps... That is why they are that material and why so big and why they sometimes come with wraps...
He's using a thumb ring that are usually made out of horn or hardwood, but still, while a ring will protect the pad past the last knuckle of the thumb, the strain on the joints must be substantial.
It's great to pull an 80-pound bow 😯💦 Be careful not to hurt your shoulder.. 🙏🏻 My bow is less than 40 pounds, but I can send an arrow over 145 meters. I hope you can touch Gakgung(horn bow), a traditional Korean bow, someday..
I can Guarantee this bow is 80#@31inches from the belly. I know because its mine. The reason it looks easy is because unlike a lot of archers where 80# is beyond thier maximum draw this is only 2/3rd of Jaceks maximum so a nice easy weight for him.

Thats a poor generalization...everyone refers to this style bow as horse bows...koreans, scythians, mongols and lots other cultures all had a similar traditional design in bows with vatious distinctions between country of origins and era, many were used at horseback, but were absolutely not restricted to horsed archery...koreans also had many other style and contructions of traditional bows...so korean bow=horsebow is not accurate at all....korean bow=korean bow

Yes but I have very big palms so this is comfortable for me
They make that in a longer length. They can be ordered over 100#

man you are pulling that thing like its only 30lbs or so... 80lbs is no joke, especially with all that pressure on your thumb and forefinger.

That's a really pretty YMG. Looks like real birch and they didn't put the stickers on the siyah.
It's the Hwarang bow. Some people say its same construction, but I'm not sure.

과녁 거리가 145m입니다. 제가 초보라 30파운드 사용하고 있는데 145 m까지 날아갑니다. 보통 42~50 파운드까지 많이 사용하시던데 훨씬 멀리까지 날아가겠지요.
