- Dystherial and I may have missed the boat for Halloween, but we weren't about to throw in the towel. After all, a delayed track is eventually fire.
This is, of course, an updated version of my very old (and very not-good-anymore) track, Ness Means Business, for Patwhit's Smashtale. I don't see it as being strictly affiliated with that AU anymore. It has evolved beyond that, into a celebration of the most iconic and hard-hitting tracks from the Mother series. See if you can identify them all!
I couldn't have done this without the help of the incredibly skilled (and patient) Dystherial. It was his amps, drums and pianos that brought this track to life. You ought to look forward to more collabs between to the two of us.

I love the fact that this is called ness means busiNess instead of “ness’s megalomania” or something like that
it's a spinoff of earthbound's second to last final boss theme, "pokey means buisness". I like both of them
it’s because this is from someone in utsc where we mostly actually have good names for stuff

And it all goes full circle when you relaize that the OG Megalovania uses the instruments from Pokey Means Business.
Im gonna tell my kids that this is what plays when you visit all 8 your sanctuary locations and complete the sound stone.

Ness might not be Sans, but this is a firm reminder the boy from Onett can still kick just as much ass as any skeleton can. Happy Earthtober, folks; memes may come and go, and many games have tried to emulate it, but Don’t Forget the wonderful, stinky RPG that made it all possible ;)

If we’re talking about this logically, Ness is much stronger than Sans. Already, he has a human soul, which is stronger than a monster’s. And then he has more PSI than Sans does. He’s like 6 leagues above Sans.

The one similarity I see between Ness and Sans: They both defeat evil powerfully and effectively.
Also, in the end, they aren't the ones to defeat the final bad guy.
Yerp, everyone else's prayers defeat Giygas and the Undertale player is defeated by Chara.

Okay, I don't know HOW I missed this, but you can hear the 8 Melodies from Mother/Earthbound Beginnings here at this section. Again, I have no idea HOW I missed this the first few times I listened to this song and only just now heard it.
This makes me regret not playing any Mother games.

Ness is the ultimate being in the RPG universe it seems like these days, which is great!
This was the thing that made me want to try out earthbound, i didnt played before bc i spoiled myself viewing a review of avgn, and after finishing mother 3 i was more intrigated to know what happen in the first game for the history to be like that, im currently at the fourth city and im really enjoying the game a lot, so thanks lucas, thanks for making me want to play earthbound :)

I think this representation of Ness (The Fan-Art) is the most near to a post-game Ness, because, they were like 10? And obviously he must have 11 like minimum because nothing bad can pass so fast after gygas and well the puberty starts like in the 11 year of the life of a kid, so that explains the more mature appearence...
Ness is actually 13 in Earthbound. And by the end of his adventure, he might be 14 considering his father comments how his voice seems to have change.

My goodness, that Pollyanna it's so amazing! I love how well you made it work into a context it's never traditionally set foot in. It's such a happy care-free song that totally owns in a final boss setting. I haven't felt this awed since I heard Green-Greens played with such melancholy in the Kirby All-Stars final boss. Keep it up!
the fact that ness might of been a potential scrapped boss for mother 3 makes this even better
I imagine a situation like the paradox ending of CogDis where the protagonist(s) from the past game comes to stop you from messing with the timeline. Ness is basically a deity by the end of Mother 2 since he merged with the universe itself so maybe he would detect the disturbances happening in the time of Mother 3 and come to stop the last needle from being pulled after Porky is "defeated." It would definitely be like Giygas' fight in M2 where you can't win by brute strength, in Ness' case he'd eventually get homesick and lose his will to fight because of that, and also when he realizes Lucas and co. are good people.
I thought the nightmarish Claus was the scrapped one…

Ness means Ego Omega. That's what would fit him. If Porky turned into greedy corrupted kid, Ness will turn into selfish egocentric hero who thinks they know better what everyone needs - Giygas's ruling over the world to improve the humankind and give all them PSI

@@josephconover5270 you know, considering his stats, and the fact that he is not a monster, he is pretty much Impossible, (genocide is only possible because you are a human againts monsters, influeced by their emotions and the intention of the attack, Ness isn't, and his ower is fused to Earth, he is pretty much impossible

@@josephconover5270 if is a crossover AU, than is a mix of the rules, than making Ness even more strong because of a UT human soul and having determination
