I feel bad for Decay. It's so overlooked all the damn time, even more so than Blue Shift. It's a really cool expansion pack and not enough people acknowledge it. Some MVPs back in the day made a PC mod of it where you can even solo the whole game, it's a bit rough way to play it but doable. Decay will receive a solo mod and an updated mod Peer Review some day.

The concept of Eli Vance didn't even exist in 2002. He was a diffrent characters in development, refered as Eli Maxwell. In the retail version of Half Life 2, his concept was combined with another cancelled character called Captain Vance to created the Eli Vance that we know today. (But I knew that it's a fiction the moment I saw the poster lol)
Soon as you mentioned Eli and kleiner I knew it as fiction, kleiner and Eli were only named/created in half life 2, and it was retconned that the two scientists you see before going down to the anti mass spectrometer were those two

Well, I can’t lie, an expansion story involving how Eli and Kleiner escaped Black Mesa would be cool. I always pictured a game revolving around them to be a pseudo-horror game or a thriller, where you have to avoid enemies and solve environmental puzzles to escape. Just a thought.

In Blue Shift Dr. Rosenberg had to rely on Barney to escort him through unharmed. It would be interesting to see how Eli and Isaac survived
