The funny thing about this video, and I say this in good Faith, is that in protesting about Northern Monk calling you a Knobhead, which it doesn't seem they did. You've made yourself look a bit of a Knobhead.

They are offering personalised cans for Father's Day. Someone has added 'Knobhead' to their personalisation. They've also posted a screen shot of this. Thinking this has managed to make its way through the marketing and communications team as some sort of personal attack is pretty wide of the mark, I'd say.

I've spoken with George Michael and he told me,'You've got to have faith' It's a purile response that you'd expect from the playground not from a responsible organisation. I'm sure they reduce the ABV to reduce the duty and keep the price down/increase profits. Take no notice 👍😎
Don't see how it's connected to you. The reduction of a abv is an annoyance. Just make a different beer, name it something else and set the abv how you see fit. Don't ruin your successful beer.

Not sure this is aimed at you Simon, however i'm currently drinking 5.4% Faith and the difference between this and the 5% version is most certainly noticeable, not in a good way i might add.

Samuel Smith's brewery actually but UP there abv on a keg lager, Sam bottle beerds are supior to northern monk old school beers , but top quality ingredients no adjunts are all 5abv or above
All these lowered ABV beers should have 'light' added to their name as that is what they are. I also don't understand why we cant have both versions such as a 5.2% Stella and the 4.6% 'light' version. Give people a choice!
I'm quite motivated to try and find a can of the old ABV to buy now!

Northern Monk seem to be testing personalised cans and they are testing what you can and can't write on them and their post is supposed to be humerous and show whats slipped through the net with what i can only assume is an automated check. Its 10 days later and they put a post out thats not related to you and with no reference to you. Looks like you may have lost their faith in collaborating in the future...drama where there is none.
same as Tiny Rebel, Clwb Tropica now 5% and a shadow of its former self, I've notic3d Cali Pale is now down from 5% to 4.5%, I won't be trying that one.
Then again, Edelweiss hefetrub on the Blade has been reduced 5.3% to 5.1% and it's still great.

Many's the time I've bought Northern Monk Faith from Morrisons, it used to be two packs for a tenner. I would much rather have you as the moral guardian of our beer Simon, than letting the brewers run rampant, no matter how big or small they are. As you've pointed out, many brewers have surreptitiously lowered their abv over the years, in what to us buyers seems a cost cutting exercise (or more cynically, naked greed).
It is rather annoying these ABV reductions and not uncommon for brewers to reduce them further at some point. They end up being different beers. This seems less of a thing with the Ciders that I drink but for Beer they all seem to be at it.
You're right. As a reviwer, you are giving the consumer an insight into what they spend their money on. The brewery decided to reduce the ABV, and if that makes the beer not as good, then that's on them 🤷♀️🍻
Absolutely Michelle, it’s our duty to our viewers to say if a beer is worse off if the abv has been reduced, it’s water off a ducks back to me, I hope some of these breweries reverse their decisions on abv reductions

Reducing the alcohol content in beer is not necessarily a problem; it's more a case of underbrewing and producing beer-like commercial products and passing them off as original.
It almost always leads to a reduction in taste without any real price reduction.
Only reason they called you what they did is that they dont want people to notice what they're doing. Thats it. Its a trick on the consumer and you're calling them out on it.

Reducing the ABV is almost always a sign of lowering the quality of the ingredients to enable mass production.
I used to buy Faith regularly but won't touch the new stuff.

Brewdog did it with Elvis Juice toning it down to 5. Im presuming folk stopped drinking it as it went back to 6.5. Leffe has dropped to 6% and defintely tastes different. Cant understand why Northern monk would drop their strength on a great beer. I wont be touching any of their beers after seeing this. Keep up the great work Simon 👍

If Northern Monk stopped wasting grain on silly beers that taste awful like Aunt Bessie's or the desert beers, perhaps they wouldn't need to reduce the ABV and make the poor excuse of it being more sessionable.
