To me, this looks more like an Ibanez AZ copy (An AZ Prestige AZ2402 to be exact) than something Fender or Charvel might put out. It even has the same control layout. They only forgot to do the recessed tremolo and the Ibanez one comes with Gotoh Magnum locking tuners.
One smart guy, his explanations are so correct, spot on, don't know him, but just listen to a fair honest assessment of reality in electric guitar science!
Matte finish is cheap & ugly looking, like a plastic toy. U would eat dog $hit & call it tasty if U thought it was 'trendy'. All this $hit needs 2 B banned, like brown & grey paint =P
Fender and Gibson as brand names don't carry the same weight for younger players that they do for Boomers and maybe Xers. Not going out of business anytime soon, but they are losing market share to newer brands.
Maybe, maybe not. But with chibsons and Gibson making it hard to find Evan a b+ model as a given people are starting to look for great models they aren't afraid to gig with or bring around for beers. I feel this is what authentic playing is all about. Not the brand logo and having your 3000 dollar guitar hanging on your wall or away in a case. Pick it up and play, wherever and whenever. People can't afford logos anymore, if China can produce a good product and has their own good brands people will but it. I remember when huewei was a joke, but they managed to make a better phone than Samsung and Apple, that isn't allowed so we banned them. Hey Max, another great video, thanks. Quick question: I have to decide between the EART EYP-24 or the AIO S2 neck-thru, another guitar you reviewed lately... I am buying for my Brother for his birthday, and since I can't afford both, if you could only have one of those two, which would you pick? (he has similar guitar playing interests as you)... thanks for your time, I appreciate it!
The pinnacle of video, throwing her away from the balcony and she survived!! The sound is stunning, and remarkale how you can play, easy and effortless performing. Where is the guitar from, the manufacturer brand and origin?, thanks for this video. Free falling guitar... man, never seen before.
Another home run Max. I’ve had my eye on these, as I’ve been wanting to build a super Strat style guitar. I’ve had my eye on these since they look good and have been making a lot of noise. Now thanks to max, we know they’re awesome in terms of quality and sound. But then again, max can shred a broom and make it sound amazing. 😂
It’s a Fender Strat killer is it? Looks like any generic shredder. More like an Ibanez. You must remember that millions buy Fender Strats every year and don’t necessarily play metal. My only gripe with Fender is that the MIM made guitars are now overpriced and I no longer buy them new as I can buy used USA for less.
@6:43, All I could say is DAMN! This is really a awesome soft Gig case to survive that punishment! That is a compelling selling point all by itself! 🤔🤔🤔
Looks really good, don't have one, but I do have the Max Signature I tested out the Eart, but like the Max better. Like you said a lot of other manufactures out there.
There's some inconsistency since Robert Jackson's green tele style guitar had the neck pickup butted up against the bottom of the neck and your white tele style guitar has a half inch of space between the neck and neck humbucker...and they both have 22 frets.
TBH, that is the only thing I don't like about it. Everything else about the guitar seems awesome. I'm just not a fan of the sunburst blending to flat black finish. It makes it look like some cheap photo finish or something. If if was a single color satin/flat/matte finish I think it would look fine.... just something about a satin sunburst blending into a single color flat... meh. Just nitpicking though and a matter of personal taste, seems like a hell of a guitar!
Thanks for demonstrating this Stratocaster, Max. I am in the market for one. I already loved the ES-335 model by EART and now I am looking for a solid body. I have one suggestion, though. Could you start your demonstration in future by playing a bit through the clean channel without any effects? That gives a better impression of purely the accoustics of the guitar itself. As you know, you can make any guitar sound good with effects. Thanks, Max!
I pulled the trigger on a CP-1 EART Strat type guitar and replaced the tuners with a cheap set of locking tuners from Amazon. It stays in tune surprisingly well. I would say the weakest thing on the guitar is the skinny bar for the two point trem. If they would just put something like the Vega Trem on these, they would be untouchable by the other companies!
8 Eart guitars in my collection. My Mayones Regius colleçts dust, PRS are sold. The $200 SSS is always with me but i made some upgrades making it fabulous.

Can any budget explorer type guitar beat the value of the jackson js32 kelly? Would love to see a comparison/shootout video on those. Kinda a buyers guide for specs and features. Like best neck, best sound, best setup, features, ..... make us a video max!
Honestly just got an Eart Tele and not sure how Squier can even compete!? Even getting from Amazon, hot warehouses and climates the guitar out of the box was spec'd WAY better and the pickups were quiet. My Squier Stratosonic has garbage electronics. Thanks Guitar MAX appreciate your work brother 🤟🎶
What I have noticed is the bridge pickup in single coil has the traditional single coil hum. TL 380. But Eart said they will pay for a tech to quiet it down.
Max,that's a cool Strat.....and I'm a Stratocaster Guy. I'm picky, not about price but the things that matter to me. Personally, a Stratocaster has to have a great neck. That one looks good, bet it plays that way. I do my own electronics, and I like changing no matter how good or bad they may be. Got a few secret things I've learned along the way. Heck I'll share because Max would share with me. Upgrade your wires, the actual wires. If you're concerned about noise, interference, etc, here's what I do. I gut high end appliances like Keurig coffee makers. The wire in those $250 and up Kcup machines is EXXXXXCELLENT!
I had a Japanese Ibanez AZ but the neck was so dry and stiff I hated it. The pickups also sounded brittle and weak. They just hire incredible musicians like Martin Miller and Lari Basilio for branding, who are so good they could make any guitar sound amazing. You buy it because you think it'll make you play and sound like them.
I thought you were about to review the Ibanez AZ Prestige, it's almost a perfect match. How would it faver if the neck of the guitar hit the ground first?
I have two of the basic 3 single coil S type guitars. One in blue with Dimarzios and one in red with Duncans. They're my gigging guitars. Yes, the pickups doubled the price of the guitars but I like humbuckers for live. I bought a T 380 but it had two cracks at the neck joint so I sent it right back. Didn't try another. This looks good. I always block my trems so I'm glad it doesn't have a Floyd. It's really similar to a Soloking I bought.
I have 2 earts. A strat and a 335 offset. Love them both. They need work but truly excellent guitars. Find them upgraded and used on the market for very cheap sometimes...would recommnend. Literally ibanez premium level instruments at the very least. Only minor issue, maybneed to do ligut fretwork on cheaper strats. Everything epse from eart has been immaculate
Eart guitars are great! But you really need to do a video on NK guitars as well! Another great Chinese brand - their headless guitars are incredible for the price
@@GuitarMAXMusic i grabbed one of the Eart headless guitars after your video from a few years back. Later on I ended up getting an NK, and the NK blew the Eart out the water - the neck and fretwork is unbelievable for the price!
I have 3 EARts. dirt cheap. look, sound and paly gr8! I have a real nice sounding and playing AIO also. I've owned a lot of fenders, Strats. Teles and also LPs, so I am qualified to compare. Form, fit, sound, playability, overall hands down a superior value.
I get that, and they're probably really good guitars for hobbyists. Do you play a budget guitar at gigs, if you play gigs, or is that when you reach for Fender or other name brands? 🤔
@@audiophileman7047 I don't gig much anymore these days, however, have played these out and wouldn't hesitate to use them. Good question and your characterization is pretty valid for most players, at least until you give these a try.
I love my eart t380. No joke. Its leagues better than my CV Strat. I would sell my cv strat for an eart. I dont care about the name, if it feels good and plays good thats what matters to me
I know I said this on a couple Firefly vids but I'd prob have to grab a 7 string if they came out with one like this, especially hardtail - would def scratch my itch for the Ibanez Prestige AZ 7str that looks just like this (I know that's tremolo as well but I prefer HT). Come on Eart I know you read these!
I have the same guitar but it came with locking tuners and the bridge it’s set up to float with the body routed underneath the trem.Once you stretch the strings it stays Tune perfectly. I bought a black one as well they are great guitars. I have some high-end fenders as well as other guitars and these are bar none high quality
I haven't picked up a guitar in 48 years, I'm gonna start again at 70. Watching you with Jin at the AIO shop gave me the bug to get off my butt & do something constructive in my retirement! How does the EART compare to a AIO Wolf WLP 750T or SC77? Or vice versa? I love the LP style, does EART make a LP style? I've never been a fan of horns.
You mentioned that you would like to see Eart make a guitar with a Floyd type system on it. They do have one, if you go to their website look under Metal Rock category and check out model EX-H6-Ultra. It has their own branded floating tremolo system with a top-lock nut on it. Maybe you could give this one a try, I bet it's good! Thanks for your insight and great content on these guitars Max! Rock on! :-)
As always, killer review max! I’ve got one of the Explorer 1s. And one up there standard struts, which I swapped out the electronics for, but still just a killer Guitar. And the trim on the Strat style stays in tune unless I extremely dive bomb it. I also own PRS, vendors several, Les Paul, I play my EART Guitars much more just because of the stainless frets don’t wear down and they sound great and play pretty damn flawlessly
Love that addition of the case drop. Definitely beats out the dustcover. Still loving the Traveler, the $46 Blue Strat copy that arrived Total delivered price $49.50. including the dustcover. That deal the Irwin or no name that Max recommended was very true. How do they do they Ship a Strat for $3.50 though? That was a crazy unbelievable price for a playable Strat copy.
Man, the guitars available when I first started playing (back in the early 80s) were absolute crap until you spent more than $1,500, and even then they weren't nearly as nice as the $599 model that Max demonstrates here. The players today have no idea how good they have it until they watch Max's channel and he tells them like it is. Great job, Max!
Hey buddy love your reviews and delivery. I purchased a Purple Eart Guitars, NK-C3Na few years ago. It is a nice guitar, great neck and versatile instrument. I would like to get more given their quality and value for $. They are a bit expensive currently to import to Australia. Eart Guitars will grow in popularity with their product range.
Coil splits are great, but the acoustic qualities of the body (especially on a solid body) imo are very important. Great guitar, great video, and ballsy crash test, Max!! Keep up the good work!! This actually gives me food for thought for a future guitar build!
I've always believed that what made a guitar a "super strat" was a humbucker in the bridge position. Not necessarily a double locking tremolo because arguably, the original super strat movement started with Earl Slick and took flight with Eddie and neither had the traditional double locking tremolo pre Floyd and even then, the original Rose tremolo , manufactured by Fernandes, didn't even have fine tuners at the bridge. If memory serves me, I think the main reason the word "super" became associated with the humbucker Strat movement was likely due to the humbucker of choice we all used back then when carving up our Strats... the DiMarzio Super Distortion humbucker but I'm just a aging old rocker, not a historian.😂
That thing is pretty slick. I don't own one of this brand, but I'm definitely thinking about picking one up as an upgrade. My first and only guitar at this point is one of those DIY strat kits. I peeked around on amazon and saw a really nice looking green strat by EART.
I'd like to see these with a good brand name bridge like a Wilkinson. No mention of the tuners on this so they must be generic eart tuners and non-locking ones. The price was a little higher than I was expecting, but it's nice to see them include a quality case.
I own a Eart EGPR-100E (PRS Style guitar) in Red Faded (Sunset). It’s a quality built guitar. I’m liking the one you’ve featured here too Max, but I do wish it had a Floyd on it, and not a cheaper lower end FR or knockoff.
Thanks for the review! I love the look of this guitar and the spec profile. Any chance you could weigh it and share? I wonder if it's closer to 7lbs vs 8-ish with the roasted mahogany body...?
The Fender Squire classic vibe models are very good value and one can be purchased for less than what Amazon ask for this Eart. The squiers quality keeps improving and is nudging the next level fender quality wise. Fender do not usually provide a case so if you purchase one that will about even out the price between the two.
Does Max have a lot of 12-year-old subscribers? Because when you see irate comments shrieking about how he ‘got caught lying’ about a certain guitar brand being better than another, you have to wonder whether they’re old enough to have encountered the concept of ‘having an opinion’ yet. He’s only human - he’ll get the odd detail wrong occasionally. But these videos aren’t objective facts, they’re his opinions. You don’t have to share or like his opinion, but that doesn’t make a review a ‘lie’. Taking criticism of a brand you like as a personal insult makes you seem incredibly childish. Just stop watching his videos if they bother you that much.
The case even had a nice tone when it hit the concrete.

I love my t380.I love your channel.I have 3 Gibsons a 72 delux Les paul( before I bought it in the middle 80’s was routed out for full dimarzio humbuckers $550 and a 20th anniversary 74 Les Paul custom that was doctored by a country player to split coils for $350 and a 76 V.I have played the frets of of them.Time to replace.Have been told not to.I have a Jackson dinky that I reloaded with Bill Lawrence pick ups and 2 Paul Reed Smith customs.Sorry I’m rambling .I play my T 380 the most.I don’t play out anymore but, thru my Spark amp and cab I love Eart❤
I tried the balcony pitch with my Gibson, without the case. Not so good...😂
Tried it with my harmonica….. no problem at all 😮
yeah, sure! Oo
Lmao😂🍻
@billygoatgruff2554 😂
Nice! I've been watching EART guitars for about a year. They seem to be very serious about what they do. Very good price too.
I've got a Road Warrior case for my Cordoba C10 that is like that one. It's not really a hard case or a soft case. It's kind of a foam case. I feel it protects that expensive guitar quite well. Thanks for another great review.
Thanks!
I hope that you will now test all gig bags in this manner!
Good idea!
@@GuitarMAXMusic You'll need a stunt guitar for that !
..Absolutely Mandatory! 😉 😜
That looks a lot like my 3000 dollar Guthrie Govan signature model!! Dang....
Looks like it but it’s nowhere near as high quality
@@MisterTee yep, the guthrie signature is top notch.
Oh yeah. It's awesome. My favorite guitar in the collection. It replaced my EBMM Majesty as my number 1.
3k, a ripoff of ridiculous proportions
@@the.communist not a rip off if you don't buy it. why are folks so angry at luxury item prices. if you think not worth it, don't buy. imo people get emotional for no reason
Fantastic review. I will lag forever tossing the case. YOUR CHANEL ROCKS !!!!!!
One smart guy, his explanations are so correct, spot on, don't know him, but just listen to a fair honest assessment of reality in electric guitar science!
Went to Guitar Center the other day. About 1/3 of the electric and acoustic guitars were in matte finish. Great to see.
Matte finish is cheap & ugly looking, like a plastic toy. U would eat dog $hit & call it tasty if U thought it was 'trendy'. All this $hit needs 2 B banned, like brown & grey paint =P
The best reward for us that have followed this account for longer is seeing max improve at guitar like a mf. Really good playing man.
That volume knob looks just a little too close to the bridge for my liking, I'd be hitting it all day tryin to palm mute.
I was thinking the same thing.
You would think after all these years, they would have figured out that not so little glitch during the electronics layout design phase.
i know, all my 80s kramers have the same issue. volume swells with ease is the silver lining? lol
Good for volume swells
@@the.communist I turn my guitar volume on or off, no swelling involved lol If people really wanted that they prob would get a pedal or something.
The title of this video is wild though lmao, yeah I'm sure Fender is terrified of the juggernaut that is EART guitars
P30 amazing phone and best camera I have owned in almost 50 years.
Huepar made my laser level and it cost 1/2 as much as a Bosch. Works the same, compared them at work.
@@thorinbaneEastman and Shijie are building very good guitars and they are Chinese.

Not all of us can afford the big dogs, y'know ! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
my heart had a bump seeing the case falling onto the concrete!!! incredible! ,,,anyway, it sems quite a valliant instrument!!!
This may not be the one for me, but they have a few very exciting designs on their store.
Thank you so much for this find, Max!! 💪💪🔥🔥
its almost an exact copy of the ibanez AZ 2402 which is my main guitar, the jack socket and neck heel are different the rest is almost the same, the AZ is almost 2 grand i would llove to try one of these to see how it stacks up against it
Hey Max, another great video, thanks.
Looks amazing, sounds amazing, I’m sold. Thanks for the video sir.
The pinnacle of video, throwing her away from the balcony and she survived!! The sound is stunning, and remarkale how you can play, easy and effortless performing. Where is the guitar from, the manufacturer brand and origin?, thanks for this video. Free falling guitar... man, never seen before.
I have 6 EART and they are all excellent guitars!
Nice I've been eyeing this guitar for a while. It looks just like the ibanez AZ which is one of my favorite guitars
Thanks for this awesome review Max. I will definitely be checking one of these out!!
You're welcome!
Thanks Max you just made it where they shouldn’t ever try to cheap out on the cases.👍
Love my EART tele (white). Good video!
Thanks! You have the T-380 model?
@@GuitarMAXMusic Yes, same as uours.
Still saving up for a Player II strat, but yeah these new brands are no joke ♥
Great Playing Max ! I Heard natural minor with phrygian dominant!!!!😮
Thank you!
REALLY LIKE THE SATIN FINISH WITH THE BURST...... NICE LOOK!!!
Totally!
TBH, that is the only thing I don't like about it. Everything else about the guitar seems awesome. I'm just not a fan of the sunburst blending to flat black finish. It makes it look like some cheap photo finish or something. If if was a single color satin/flat/matte finish I think it would look fine.... just something about a satin sunburst blending into a single color flat... meh. Just nitpicking though and a matter of personal taste, seems like a hell of a guitar!
that intro was your best solo yet! :D
Is there anyone out there that owns this guitar and the Ibanez AZ2402....I would very much like to hear their opinions! Great video Mr. Max!
Looks nice, only alteration I would make is to have staggered tuning posts so as to do away with the string trees.
Awesome! What upgrades did you make to the SSS?
@@GuitarMAXMusic tried to answer but RUclips deleted it ?¿?!!
@@GuitarMAXMusic DiMarzio HHH pickup set in sc size, strap locks, roll string trees, locking tuners, copper pick guard, p/p pot for split, Tusq nut, metal knobs. My other Earts are modified too.
You're savage throwing the guitar through the window lol totally unexpected 😂
Thanks very much.
I also test all my guitars by throwing them of the second story.
Excellent!
Eart guitars are great! But you really need to do a video on NK guitars as well! Another great Chinese brand - their headless guitars are incredible for the price
Yeah, you know NK has been around for a while now but I've never checked them out!
I dont care about the name, if it feels good and plays good thats what matters to me
Thanks for the report!
@@GuitarMAXMusic when shopping for my t380 I used your video as a reference for review. Thanks dude rock on.
Thx man I’m looking into them now!!!!
Rock on! :-)
Hey thanks for the tip! I will check that out!
@@GuitarMAXMusic No problem dude! I love your channel, your musicianship and your style, keep up the great work!
Nothing against Fender but Squier and Sire are serious alternatives in the $400-600 range.
Wouldn't mind a resonator 180E 🤠
How are the tuning pegs? How much does the guitar weigh?
Why is this literally the only video I can find on this guitar? Looks great, but always like to see other points of view.
Well Played Sir! Literally. What a beauty.
It has s great superstrat sound that cuts well. I do however think that a double locking tremolo system would have done the guitar more justice.
Crazy. Who throws a guitar off the balcony ? Guitar max thats who .awesome man . Hey what happen to ofer holan
Everybody: Welcome to EART. Thanks Max!
The Fender Squire classic vibe models are very good value and one can be purchased for less than what Amazon ask for this Eart. The squiers quality keeps improving and is nudging the next level fender quality wise. Fender do not usually provide a case so if you purchase one that will about even out the price between the two.
Really great tone for the price, man!
