Hi Meg!
I played violin and cello in kindergarten and first grade, but then I moved schools. I never had the option to pickup strings again until now as an adult.
I have a performance degree on flute and I'm really looking forward to using your videos to practice everything properly on violin.
Great job on your production! It's really hard and you're doing it!
Hi Ella! Thanks for your lovely comment! It's never too late to pick up an instrument, I'm glad to hear you're revisiting the violin!

You are amazing! Thank you for putting this out for my kids to follow along… and me 😜
Hi. I have just bought a violin. Nothing fancy. It has no shoulder rest. It only came with bow and the chin rest in the case. Is the shoulder rest imperative to begin to learn with?
No, you can definitely get started without one. Shoulder rest is really only for comfort. If you begin to find it uncomfortable without, you can use a cloth or sponge on your shoulder instead.
At 0:10 (thanks to Aimee Nolte) I accidentally thought the intro sounds like the old Big Red commercial ("Perfect Pitch... with Commercials?"
Hey meg I am having trouble with the first step the violin is always falling when I try to let go of the violin is it because I don't have a shoulder rest or im doing something wrong?
It should be held in place between your chin and your shoulder, you may find you need to press down a bit more with your chin if you don't have a shoulder rest.
I gone learned 💯
You so much for your day off
Does the violin go on the left shoulder regardless of which hand is dominant? My kiddo is left handed.
Yes, always on the left shoulder regardless of hand dominance!
hi
Do you have to have something like a shoulder resr
You don't need a shoulder rest. The shoulder rest is just for you to feel more comfortable when you put the violin on your shoulder.
Is the shoulder pin need??
You don't need a shoulder rest. The shoulder rest is just for you to feel more comfortable when you put the violin on your shoulder.
Hello jahnvi ❤❤❤
How to hold the bow?
Lesson 2: ruclips.net/video/kwSFCqxVy-k/видео.html :)
If there is a mouse in my hand, one of us is gonna get deleted from this reality.
What if we do not have a shoulder rest
You don't need a shoulder rest. The shoulder rest is just for you to feel more comfortable when you put the violin on your shoulder.
A shoulder rest isn't essential, it's more for comfort than anything else. Many beginners start without one and get one later down the line. If you're finding the violin uncomfortable, you can use a small cloth or thin sponge under the instrument to help.
