  • In this video I show a coolant leak on my personal vehicle, 2011 Volkswagen GTI and talk about what I recommend as a repair. He is a affiliate link to the pipe that I will be installing to fix this. amzn.to/3QJJEw8

    Thanks for the tip.
I liked your take on VW parts breaking down before a decent time. I bought a 2007 GTI two years which I cursed for that problem. I am impressed with their designs,so much so I bought three more of those other models to admire and curse ... Thanks for your videos

Mine is actually starting to crack up top so I found the replacement from UspMotorsport Spulen silicone hose instead of those plastic lines. Lasted 116k miles on my GTI. Would be replacing those lines tomorrow.

How do you daily drive it ?
I made the mistake of buying one of these pieces of S and it’s good for about 1500 miles before it’s back for repairs it’s falling apart faster than anybody can fix it

At 2:46, you said the line goes to the back of the engine. That connection is where I have a leak. Will the product you have linked replace that hose as well?

I have been scouring youtube for as much information on tsi coolant leaks. I have a 2012 GTI with 101k miles I use for daily. I noticed in the carfax that it had the water pump replaced at 40k for the recall. Recently, same as you, I started to lose coolant. I can also smell the sweetness when I am idle at stop lights. I am guessing it's the waterpump because it's a phantom leak and burning before it hits the ground. When I get my leak tester, I hope its a small problem like you have. Regardless, I got a new pump just in case, because it WILL fail eventually.

@@EuropeanAutoRepair I found it!! Coupling adapter hose "part #3C0122291"I couldn't find the leak because the coolant was leaking onto down pipe. The coupling is located in the firewall out back of the intake. Common failure because it's plastic. $11 bucks on amazon, I found it local for $20.

in canada we have aq class action lawsuit for these water pumps. my mk7.5 gti failed at (60k Miles) or 100k Killometers) and I got a free replacement. luckily I only have a inlet pipe and airbox upgrade and resonator delete so they weren't fussy about it. once your tuned your screwed tho for this. same thing on my buddies R stage 2 and they deemed the water pump went because of the tuning. I think its total bs but dealerships usually like to wash their hands of this stuff. OEM water pump thermostat assembly is utter garbage, ill be upgrading to the upgraded turbine and T flange that are billet vs crap abs platics.
