Me han encantado los dos vídeos, tanto el primero sobre cómo han maquillado a Harumi como Maiko. Como el segundo vídeo en el que se muestra la vestimenta típica de Japón (el kimono). In English, I love both videos, the first one is my favourite because it shows you how the Maiko prepare her faces with this special make up and oils. She is very beautiful as a Maiko. Blessings from Spain. Mis bendiciones desde España. 🇪🇦🇯🇵
This and the previous video were an absolute delight to watch. Harumi is beautiful and was glowing with joy during her transformation. What a wonderful experience that must have been
Harumi looks adorable as a maiko, it really does give her such a youthful look. Thank you for sharing this experience with us, I love that the staff explained about each element of the process while it was being done. Educational and entertaining!
this was lovely on so many levels, I think the only one unhappy with the whole transformation was Nagi, as that was no longer her mother. thank you for all of these, stay warm and keep up the great work, GO TEAM SHOGO!
Right now I'm reading Geisha, a life by Mineko Iwasaki and what a beautiful world is that of Maiko and Geisha. I really enjoyed this video and if I fulfill my dream of going to Kyoto I'll try to go there. Thank you Shogo!
Have you read Geisha by Liza Dalby? That's a very iconic book by an anthropologist on geisha culture (she became a maiko in Kyoto herself and even has a geisha name of her own!). I think you'll enjoy that too.
Beautiful! But I've got so used to seeing maiko and knowing they're so young, that when you're wife was dressed, it made me see her as 16 or 18 years old. Not a bad thing! It was such a transformation! I'd like to see her as geiko too, although I don't know if that's possible.
こちらこそありがとうございます Special thanks for including the link to the website for the geiko and maiko experience where one can browse the gorgeous kimono, obi and kanzashi. I wonder whether it would be possible for a man to visit the centre just to admire these items when there are no other customers. I could spend hours studying their stunning designs and the crafts which go into their creation. The staff all seemed so knowledgeable, helpful and friendly, too.
@@mk098a Thank you for taking the time and trouble to reply to my comment. Now that you point this out I suppose it should have been obvious - but I'm afraid that if I visited those stores I would have to be sure not to take too much money with me in case the fabrics were just too irresistible.
Harumi is so beautiful!! she looked amazing as a Maiko! I loved these two videos, very informative and super interesting to watch, this channel always provides such high quality content
I'm so used to seeing Shogo in his usual kimono that seeing him in western style clothes feels refreshing, haha. You look very nice! And Harumi looked like a dream!!! Thank you for the video!!
This video was soooo fun to watch! Your wife is also super pretty and polite, a pleasure to spend this time watching her transformation! Maybe next time she can dress as geiko! I will definitely watch! Also thank you for your hard work!
Harumi definitely is as if not more beautiful than any maiko I have seen on this channel. She just has naturally beautiful facial features regardless of her age. Moreover, in my eyes, it's much more enriching to spend time with Harumi because of her life experiences and more complex dreams, ambitions and obligations as well as her academic education she has compared to an 18 year old woman who cannot have this level life experience. So thank you Harumi to share this video with us. :)
Pretty sure this is the place I went to in 2018! It was such a fantastic experience. My other half also got dressed up in Kimono as a "samurai" so we could have the photos together. 😊
You go Harumi!!! looked so lovely! The pink looked wonderful too! She’s dressing up! It’s okay to look young for occasions like this! Beautiful pictures! Well done 🙌🏼
Watching your wife light up seeing herself transformed in all the beautiful maiko makeup and attire was so sweet and pure! What a great house that offers all the details and we're kind about questions 💗 I dream of a trip one day to also dress as a beautiful maiko with all the kanzashi my hair will hold! 🥰🥰🥰 Thank you for sharing such a fun house and adventure!
Another great video filled with fun & educational content. It is interesting to see Shogo-san & Harumi-san take turn hosting this video. I look forward to seeing Harumi-san taking lead hosting some of future videos. There might be some ideas worth exploring. It was a pleasant experience watching Shogo-san in supporting role while taking time to bond with his children. 😊
I am so happy for you to have this experience. The staff seemed so kind, knowledgeable, and professional. I hope I am not being impolite in saying you would be a lovely, graceful Maiko. Thank you for taking us with you!
I did this experience in 2019 and it was great! The staff was so nice and helpful. Since it was a slow day they even let us take some phone photos inside in one of the old tatami floor rooms. I was even lucky enough to get the kimono I wanted which I had seen on the website. Great experience!
Amazing experience to watch! The process is so delicate and detailed, Harumi became a real life doll she was so pretty, thanks for sharing with the world.
Oh Harumi looked beautiful. This looks like a wonderful experience and yes, I agree with her, if I were a teenage Japanese, I would become a Maiko. Since I can remember, like 3 or 4 yo, I've always loved seeing Geisha/Geiko figures, images and I loved Asian architecture and gardens, oh how I love the gardens. So I've always been learning and love it. 😌☺❤

Harumi san's features have a wonderful balance of beauty, grace, dignity and radiance in these videos. Tho I was kind of hoping she'd pick a yellow kimono because she can own it hardcore. Oh well blue is wonderful too. She's stunning as a geiko.
Harumi looked amazing. What an experience that must have been for her. Now she has all those photos to remind her. There is so much that goes into dressing. The weight must be considerably for just clothing. Tomoko looked cute as always. I hope she gets to do that at some point (if she wants to of course). It looked like it was a lot of fun.
If I get to go to Japan one day, I hope I get to experience at least once how to look like a maiko. It's one of the many ways I could show my high appreciation for the country's culture.
You could always just buy a kimono and do it yourself. They're not cheap but they're not crazy expensive either. I have a few, takes a lot of practice to get the obi right though, especially doing it yourself
I could cry, she looked amazing and the video had the kindest energy 💐🌾🥰 Thank you for posting! Was incredible to learn about such a truly incredible and beautiful history 🌸

With that much garments and the way they tied the ribbons around her, it's make me remember of stays, corsets and chincers... But the final result is really beautiful and elegant. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Super lovely!!! Loved your choices of kimono and obi and the kanzashi!!! The kanzashi looks like tsumami(?) kanzashi. I hope you can feature a video to make tsumami kanzashi in the future. Or maybe there is a short-course being offered in Kyoto to make one? I also love chirimen fabric! I hope you can feature a store selling these too!
Omedetou Gosaimasu Harumi-San for this expierence. I could see the happiness you had while doing this in both part 1 and 2. Having a child/teen dream come true if only for a day is priceless. 0:22, no joke, I have the same "Kyouka" fan in my collection :) Harumi could fool anyone by walking on the streets. She looks like a real, practicing maiko. There is a cute and elegant air around her.
It was amazing to see the process and everything that goes into it. I wonder, how much do the kimono, obi and all the accessories for the outfit weigh? These are great videos, so I thank you very much.
I would love to go to this place and try the maiko transformation myself. Both videos were an absolute delight to watch, both super fun and informative. Harumi is stunning.
This mini series was so so lovely! I loved that the staff answered questions so kindly, and the whole experience was smooth and fun. Also, Harumi, you are a champion to have made it look so easy to move with such weighted clothes, and with the heavy hair piece too! If I had gotten out of so many layers, I would pe drenched and exhausted :)) .

0:22, no joke, I have the same "Kyouka" fan in my collection :) Harumi could fool anyone by walking on the streets. She looks like a real, practicing maiko. There is a cute and elegant air around her.
These two parts are my comfort videos ngl
Your husband is very supportive to fulfill your dream, loved watching both videos. You are beautiful.
I'm already sucked in for the moment sitting on my edge of my seat watching this beautiful
What a fun experience for you!! Very interesting to watch!
FABULOUS VIDEO! Love this content
Oh wow! How stunning! Harumi is so elegant and a delight!
Such a great experience! You looked so beautiful! 😍
Wow that was such a great experience! Thank you for sharing! You look very beautiful in a kimono and maiko's makeup!
Fascinating videos. Maiko did a lovely job hosting on her own.
I have been a fan of the Japanese Culture since I was in High School. Thank you for sharing this.
