It's pretty incredible how you've been posting vintage cube every day for over a month and somehow you manage to draft pretty different decks every time. Love the videos, they're a bright spot in my day!
Been a bit longer than a month!
Over a year I am pretty sure
Its been daily for like 9 months
His channel has been going around for about a year now. Love it. My favorite mtg channel. Wouldn’t mind seeing some other formats being played though
A month 🤔
That moment when you hop on youtube during your lunch break and LSVs video hasn't dropped yet is the worst. That moment a minute later when you f5 and LSVs video appears is the best. Bringing me the highs and lows of my day.
Yep
Hey LSV! A quick comment to say the pick by pick and play by play commentary on these video's is the best ive ever seen.
Legit teaching us so much in every draft its crazy good form brother!
Am I missing something or couldn’t you have just tribal flames, snap, tribal at around 35:00 when he was tapped out?
Not missing anything. It was available. Even the best players miss something once in a while
He mentioned it at 35:12 but maybe he didn't notice before he passed
I'd love to hear more about the decision to not companion Zirda. Obviously Pyrokinesis is a lot worse than Fable, and the replacement for Snapcaster would be fairly marginal, but this still seems like one of the least painful possible companions I've ever seen. Thanks very much for the draft as always!
Maybe because Fable is one of his strongest cards. I would companion too though I think
have to give you a couple props LSV. 1) the fun you have doing what you do is part of what makes you so compulsively watchable. thanks for doing what you love ! 2) we tease you that "he can't keep getting away with it." but i have to say as I've dug in and been playing a lot of vintage cube; your vision for the final deck is incomparable. after the draft i think of the cards I passed that would have such great synergies if i just had your foresight .. i guess i'm just saying, i suspect it's a lot more skill than luck in the end.
isn't it worth going for the 10 points of burn with snap @34:58?
Nice find!
I was surprised he missed it, considering he mentioned snap and tribal flames in the same breath
He saw it, he just didn't realize his opponent was at 10 and that doing that would end the game immediately.
I went straight to the comments for this exactly, I thought I must be missing something. Did marsh flats not have any untapped lands to fetch maybe? Cause he did only have exactly 6 mana to do it 🤷♂️
I just rewatched that part and I was right, flats had only one target left, a tapped triome. However he could have still won by just making a second treasure with converter. So he def had the win.
35:05 can we tirbal flames and snap it in the same turn to not let opponent untap? We can make a treasure with converter I think?
That last round was just beautiful! It has to be the craziest start to a cube game I've ever seen.
Thank you very much LSV for your content. It helped me get through a difficult period. I really appreciate.
What I like about Delayed Blast Fireball is that it doesn't care how you cast it from Exile you'll get the extra effect. So something like Lealia works with it
Learning alot about the game outside the microcosm of current standard. Really enjoyable watching these drafts from a true legend of the game!
Surprised you didn't want to companion Zirda. Cutting Fable would suck but starting on 8 cards is kind of a big deal.
Hands down the most entertaining Magic content out there at the moment.
That Kavu was working overtime with all the trilands!
I love how LSV go through phases of hang ups on cards and the deck he plays, and he draft some sort of version with his hang up cards in any way.
I remember a time when a Coalition Relic never got passed LSV. Then it's been phases of Brain Freeze, I know he doesn't rate it now but at one time it was control with Fractured Identity + Treachery. Then it was an obsession with Tolarian Academy + Candelabra of Tawnos with brown big stuff and lately it's been more having fun with mana sinks like converter, retrofitter and supporting cards to combo off.
Not many, if any, magic player is this versatile and can brew up good, fun decks.
That was a fun one. Between yesterday and todays draft, im liking some of the domain zoo cards
Passing Skullclamp, then picking Retrofitter...? You did have Snapcaster and outs to pick up plenty of Skullclamp stuff.
EDIT: @35:20 Can't you just Tribal Flames > Snap Tribal on your turn FTW? You have 6 mana plus Flats (thanks to Converter making another Treasure) and they are tapped out.
Once again, great video and commentary. Really enjoying deck wrap up at the end.
"Snap caster mage" is peak LSV amo❤
the kavu has became really nice with the triomes in the cube
I love watching your daily stuff, Luis! And extra fun this draft, where you played a friend of mine in game 2.
35:00 Missed 2x Tribal Flames lethal?
Draw seven to reload is my fave. Glad it worked out that way. Really wish UR tempo/burn (with draw sevens) worked well it cube.
Love your videos LSV!! They’re the best part of getting off work, knowing you dropped a video that I can’t wait to watch. Might I ask if you have any plans on playing some other formats on occasion for the channel?
Thank you for these videos. LSV is the MVP.
Academy shows up so much more often when you're not drafting artifacts. Never lucky
Thank you for all the cubes!
I thought i clicked yesterday's video when i heard first pick wheel
"Man, this Currency Converter is actually looking pretty good" When does it not lol
Yeah I've been getting super late balance recently, wheeled it in t8 of a 64 player draft recently, no idea why
Over 1300 players in the league at pretty much all times, hope you're getting some ad revenue from daybreak
Dream salvage would be an interesting addition
Would be interesting if you did a 3v3 draft where you pool all the cards drafted by your team then build 3 decks from the pool
It's probably wrong (you're a lot more experienced at this than me), but I'd be hard pressed not to companion Zirda.. It costs you one great card and one decent one (Fable and Snapcaster, respectively) (and taking Raptor or Orb over Kavu), but getting to start each game with a piece of a two card combo and just a card for free is just.. so much value, in my book.
that's how I feel as well
I think it's interesting that kavu turns out to be way more impactful than the fable, not only because he drew it more... but when he drew it, i think it was better than fable would have been
ugh was so excited for the basalt / zirdia combo sad it never panned out
Love a good wheel build
Funny how the white red aggro deck was wide open pack 1. I've been drafting it a ton this season mainly because I keep being put on that lane and my win rate with it must be at least 80% at this point, people just don't respect it
that natural order art is ugh
I was almost so sad when he passed the Kavu the first time. When he wheeled it I bought a playset
LSV's titles hit different on his own channel (as opposed to being posted on ChannelFireball).
Where's the Kappa deck? But otherwise have enjoyed pretty much all drafts thus far.
Kinnan is out of this iteration fwiw
Never seen LSV not take Retrofitter or Currency Converter
Oh my god I said this before currency converter showed up and I really thought he wasn’t going to take it
Does Daretti know Jace in the lore? Asking for a friend
Yey, great stuff !!!!
i kid you not i said to myself this is such an obvious retrofitter deck that we should just hedge skullclamp and bam next pack
Zirda is so OP
Do you think there is anyone not mtgo that does not know who LSV is?
Anyone know how many times he said Fourth year Lingus? 😂
