I'm still blown back by him using the LED in the light bulbs. We use those at my work and all I think is how bright they are, little did i know they make perfect blaster fire
I really liked how in the first few glamour shots, the sort of mirroring the cover was doing made it look like you could almost see the rest of the battle happening around them
Wow Dude! I am a World War 2 Tank and plane model builder with chipping, mud, airbrush and detail skills. I am also a Big Star Wars Fan and you're making me think to go another direction! Wow!! Great work!
You know what's better than a band-aid for those little cuts? Cyanoacrylate. I love these tutorials. The use of the LED filaments opens a whole new aspect of modelbulding. Nice!
This is one of the coolest works I've seen. Very creative. Imagine having that but with led:s so you could change the colour to whatever you want to. Totally rad decoration.
Love your build. I recently saw this black paint on RUclips that absorbs 99.3 ot 99.7% of all light. This would be perfect for your base and metal stands. Seriously, they will disappear and your laser blasts and ships will actually look like they are floating. Really hope you try this and upload it after the base and wire repaint
Thanks for showing the tutorial section on sourcing and using the LED filament! I was trying like heck to find that stuff and didn’t know you were just chopping bulbs and using their boards. Massively simple and helpful! Thanks Dude
That's pretty spiffy. If a suggestion wouldn't be too much - get some vantablack paint for the base and the stalk things. It'll completely absorb the glow from the lasers, which would leave them seeming to hover and leave the black base surface as infinitely deep. A pot of vantablack or similar isn't all that much, I'm seeing sources for about $10-$12, and I swear blind it'll turn this from spiffy to mind borkling.
@@livelikeasuicide4837 Vantablack was bought exclusive rights to by an artist that never even invented it. The artist and creator now have a feud, and the creator has made paint that is much darker than vantablack, called black 2.0, and now an even darker paint called black 3.0, both of which are cheaper than vantablack.
It's fun because when I watch the videos he makes that he has extensive commentary throughout, I think "hey wow I could do this, I should pick up this hobby!" but when he doesn't comment that much, like this video, I realize how little I really understand about it haha
I'm working on the same project..... Except that I bought the ships premade and painted to save Hours and tons of effort, then used LED strings with black matte and left the bright places to simulate lasers, and cotton painted yellow to orange to simulate explosions. I finished the entire build in 4 hours
You are amazing! Is this just a hobby for you, or is your job similar to building these in some way? Because you should definitely do that for work you're so talented!
@@Boylei first time seeing your video, but I'd totally recommend building a simple website and listing some of your projects that you're willing to sell when you inevitably run out of storage room for them.
i love how the box makes it look like there is more going on in the background ! also the explosion looks incredible, where did you learn that technique ?
@krvnjrcbs People build on commission all of the time with known vehicles. The purchaser is also purchasing the model kits the diorama is built with. Limitations come with mass production of IP that you do no own.
Thanks to you, I realized the same thing but integrating it into a landscape in the Guilin region. I also replaced the electronic board part of the LED bulb with a 12V 2A power supply and added resistors in parallel on each LED (less chance of getting hurt ;)). Thank you very much for this tutorial!
This is great! I tried to find the 12v bulbs but I am not sure I got the right ones... do you happen to have a link to those? Either way, this is fantastic work!
Very good work!!! 👍🏻 Moved me to start modeling again. I wonder if you could make a video in which you explain in more detail how to connect filaments including resistor correctly. Couldn't find anything about it and it would help me a lot. 🙏🏻
Wow! That is so cool!! Even though I saw how it was made, my eyes only see the illusion. The steel wool sparks and the simulated impact on the Tie Fighter really sell it.
incredible work! I cant help but wonder why 58 people would take the trouble to dislike this? As a die hard star wars fan I think these dioramas are totally on point!
I really like the idea of using steel wool for the sparks, because even if someone doesn't visually interpret that as sparks it still looks like pieces of the fighter getting shredded.
Who would have thought a little steel wool could create such an awesome shrapnel effect? Great creativity, and a stunning end result!
I mean yeah, Shrapnel is metal

The steel-wool trick looks so absolutely awesome!
Very nice work!
That is by one of the coolest diorama I’ve ever seen, probably because I was a huge Star Wars fan
Dang... the effects the blasts have on the case when it’s on the base makes the whole dio feel like it’s in a huge space battle! Well done sir!
Yeah would look really awesome if had backdrop in the case
Impresive...most impresive!

Ya i would selling these bad boys!!
I will have one if you decide to sell some

Are you talking about Vantablack or something else that's commercially available? I think Vantablack is carcinogenic and hard to get anyway.
Sean Smith : yes. Vanta. But there is another one. Look up on RUclips. I think it’s called moano black or something like that.

I would install some purple led’s in the engines of the x wing, to simulate their functionality
That’s a good idea!
@@Boylei Man this is a beautiful diarama..did you just solder the led cirquit to the 110/220 volt leads?
I think that’s be a little hard you’d prolly have to run wires through the model and those models are usually very fragile
Isn't the engine glow for X wings pink usually?
