I had the exact same thing happen to me I was at 1 damage and they had Bruce at 3 base crit so I go OT to pass and checks were crit, nothing, ot....dark states sack

Richard, reading can be hard, can you choose to activate the shield during battle or will it activate anytime she is attacked?
22000 vs 13000 w/shield = 23000 guard
9000 vs 13000 w/shield = will the shield still activate or no ?

If a card says “1/Turn” it means means you choose the timing. So if you wanna save the shield for a later battle, you can.

Still worth calling Lenard. He gets half his on hit (the soul charge), just not the "call from soul" part and he would be 2k higher than Bryan. Edit: also Deryck can put himself in soul for his ability.
