    Audi currently seems to be the only car manufacturer, where the interior design is not a screen overkill festival trying to outdo Tesla. I really like that they didn't change that too much compared to their cars with combustion engines.

      Very wrong, Audi screwed up with the Two level Touch Screen setup on their older ICE cars. They put a 2nd screen in a lower binacel which replaced physical buttons and knobs. It has been widely panned critically. They didn't want to make the same mistake on this stunning eTron GT.

    Excellent, review, Jakob and Yuri. We have a 2023 e-tron GT(in Ascari Blue). It is stunning and drives SO well. Unfortunately, ours has spent almost as much time in the dealership than on the road due to technical issues. We've experienced brake booster failure (twice) and the TMCU which connects the MMI to a cell network keeps failing and dropping to 3G (non-data) mode. We hope that Audi Canada sorts these things out - and that we get to enjoy our new car. Our Electrify Canada experience has been PERFECT. We have a 350 kW Electrify Canada charger 10 minutes from our house and we've achieved charge speeds higher than 200 kW. We use the Electrify Canada charger to bring us up to 80% then we top off slowly at home. Keep up the great content!

    I actually had a good experience fast charging my EV6 during a mini-roadtrip to Sarnia last week. We stopped at Onroute Ivy chargers both ways and they worked well. Max speed at Onroute Dutton was 180kW from a charger that was listed as being 100kW on Ivy's app. We skipped the chargers at Onroute Tilbury South because both were being used, though.

      Have you found anything you don't like in the EV6? I'm looking at one this weekend vs used German luxury sedans that I can tune to 500+ hp. I have a 500 hp Audi A6 but it's now older and needs more maintenance.
      90% I'm getting another car this weekend.
      I went and sat in one and the interior seems super nice but a bit creaky.
      I go Kitchener to London for work when I go, which is 260-270 kms total. Is the range enough? Kia said like 335 km real world, in summer for the GT AWD.

    • @dhruvb38
      @dhruvb38 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@OviWanKeno9i had mine for 15k miles now, done a road trip from Seattle -> Montana and back, and honestly, nothing to complain here, expect for the seats. I think they could be comfier. I don't pay for the subscription until it gets cold, remote climate control is great for that, but its too expensive for all year.
      Range in the summer can go up to 310miles (~500km), in the winter, goes down to like 250/240 (380km) at around 10c and below. I'm a pretty chill driver, so if you have a lead foot I can see that range go down by like 10miles (20km) atleast. I have the Wind AWD which is rated for 270miles (430km) average. GT will be way lower of course.

    • @amperformance7998
      @amperformance7998 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@OviWanKeno9i I have had an EV6 for 7 months now, and just did a 5000+km road trip in Australia. It has been an excellent car, my wife loves it.
      Don't expect the interior or tech presentation to be on the same level as a proper luxury car, because it isn't. Plastics can be hard in places and the Infotainment is a little dated (probably going to be replaced with a new system at refresh). The seats in the GT are sporty and hold you well, but I think miss the point of the car. It would have been better with the more comfortable GT-line seats.
      But there is a lot that is excellent as well. The way it rides, handles, and drives. The driver interface is much more intuitive than some other EVs. Range is decent, I did some 300+km legs in my roadtrip with temps just above freezing (though mine is a longer range RWD) so it may work for your commute (I would do more research and confirm before buying, though), but if you find yourself short, it charges very quickly.
      One thing to be aware of, because of the battery chemistry, it is recommended that you generally only charge the car to 80%. Then charge to 100% for long trips or once a month to balance the battery. This helps reduce battery degradation over time. If your long commute is frequent and you plan on keeping your new car long term, you may want to consider other options, or at least be well-informed on the issue.

    I rented one while my Tesla was getting repaired from a minor rear-end accident.
    As a BMW and Tesla owner, I was really impressed with Audi’s user interface. Took it to Ottawa and had a slight hiccup at the OnRoute Ivy charger but I just switched stalls and it worked right away. Handling was ok but I think it was because of the stock Goodyear EV tires.
    As long as you can charge at home, charging really isn’t a problem unless you do road trips several times a month. I wake up in the morning always 90% charged, drive 100-200km/day and come home with still 60-70% left and my Hydro has only increased by $30/month.
    Since the both of you guys own houses, I think the both of you should invest on EV chargers in your homes. Even though you guys don’t own EVs, it may save you a lot from public charging all these press EVs. A full charge from 0-100% may cost you around $30-$40 in public while it only cost $4 to $6 at home.

      The most common issue people have with Lucid is how they look. Not an attractive car at all. They have amazing range that's helped out by their awkward looking body though

      @@itcangetbetter I think they look perfect for the role they are. It’s a luxury limo. Styling queues echo most other sedans in the segment.

      @@TomYourmombadil Lucid doesn't make anything like a luxury limo. It's certainly a luxury price, but the interior and exterior don't reflect that. Again, incredible take though

    • @TomYourmombadil
      @TomYourmombadil 10 месяцев назад

      @@itcangetbetter none of the luxury brands exude luxury on the exterior these days. Lucid looks more reserved and stately than the current 7 series, A8, definitely the current EQS. Yes, the interior isn’t as nice materials wise as the EQ cars, but it is certainly very luxurious. Like the grand touring is objectively luxury limo style. I really don’t get people saying it looks atrocious because from a graphic standpoint there literally is not enough there to look bad. Not saying they’re perfect, but it looks like what it’s supposed to be.

    Have had both a Taycan and a rs etron gt. Taycan wins on steering, the cool geo adjustment for suspension and quieter ride (it’s due to the rs etron gt tires and wheels). Aside from that, the RS Etron GT everywhere else (and in the rs Etron now). Probably most important: you see the Taycan’s everywhere and the not many RS ETRON GT’s. One part of luxury items is exclusivity. Taycans are a year away of being as common as a cayenne or macan. Also the interior quality of the RS ETRON GT is better (which was quite shocking tbh)

    I just saw that VW's Electrify Can/Murica stations will start adding the Tesla (nacs) charger to their stations, so maybe VW will adopt NACS natively. That would be neat, VW Buzz with Tesla charger would be nice.
