Maria it is ok to be struggling with what's going on in Russia and Ukraine. That's your home. It's ok to be so sad and angry and frustrated. And I am sure, knowing how Americans are, people maybe don't always give you kindness. We love you. We know you aren't over there making any of these things happen and we know it must be so difficult to feel everything. A lot of us have the same struggle here in America watching how things are playing out here.

So true. Regular people trying to live our lives are never the cause of wars in any country. Sadly it's our rulers making those decisions. I definitely relate to you in regards to feelings about aging. I'm experiencing the same things you described- the sadness, the movements in the mirror, and the feelings of insecurity. Something that has been helping me in regards to getting older is to remind myself that old age is a privilege and heath as we get older is more important over looks. We're always going to have insecurities about something but I'm sure somethings we are currently insecure about, we probably won't be insecure about at an older age.

My baby is starting his senior year in high school next week (and my eldest is starting university in September), and I too, feel like life is flashing before my eyes! As moms, we need to just be grateful for the time we have with our kids and appreciate them and the age they are and we are and look to connect with other parents in the same situation so we have a strong community with whom we can share our thoughts and worries. Something that helps me sometimes... When I was in my 20s, I would look back at pictures from my teen years and think "Wow, I was so skinny back then, I thought I was so fat! I wish I was that skinny and young looking now!" And then I'd feel down about my appearance for a long time and start doing all these lifestyle things to make myself look like I did when I was a teenager, but I never felt like I came close to achieving it and continued to think I was so fat and old looking.
Now, in my 30s, I look back on photos of myself in my 20s and I think "oh my GOD....I looked amazing, why did I waste so much time and energy being unhappy with my body and trying to "fix" myself??"
I'm finally realizing that I'm going to do the same exact thing when I'm in my 40s. So I'm trying really hard not to waste any more of my precious time left on focusing on making myself look younger/skinnier. I'm just going to focus on adding nutritious foods to my life, adding joyful experiences, accepting the bad experiences and learning to grow with them. I hope that you can find some peace with your beautiful self, I know it's such a difficult journey (especially as a woman). You are beautiful, inside and out, and contribute so much to the world, so thank you!
Absolutely loved this video and getting to know Maria from her opinions and beliefs. I usually get sleepy and very relaxed, but I couldn’t stop watching. Maria I completely feel you on the insecurity about aging. I was never very beautiful, so I thought I would embrace wrinkles when they came. I wasn't expecting to notice my skin loosening on my hands and arms, and after I had my son all of the changes to my body were scary. I'm starting to come to terms with it, and therapy helps a lot. Every day is a new day! Healthy habits are a great place to start. I'm working on those too.

In esoteric meditation there are traps, darkness, a humanism without the presence of Christ. We can meditate on the words of God, fill ourselves with his peace and keep our minds calm and our spirits calm and powerful at the same time.

Dear Maria, after everything you’ve given to me I’m so glad to have the opportunity to encourage you. As a middle-aged woman I have been so blown away by how much I learn from you who is a generation younger than me. I came for the tingly comfort and stayed for the fun creative stuff. I tried nail stamping, built my crystal collection, immersed myself in the study of astrology, tried origami. I just want anyone out there who has been abused in any way please understand it is NOT your fault, and you do NOT owe anyone forgiveness in order to move on. It is not your job to forgive. It is a manipulative way of being taught that your abuser still has power over you until you forgive them.
Edit: if it has helped some people to do that, it’s okay. That’s their way of handling things, just know you don’t have to do that yourself.
You have done nothing wrong, and it is completely normal to feel pain & to still need to work through/talk about that abuse. Your healing journey is your own, the way you heal, share your experience, the way you talk about it, is normal and okay. You do not have a “victim mentality” if you still need to talk about the pain it has caused you. You are NOT weak for being affected by that trauma.
You are a survivor, you deserve love, & you are strong for still having to deal with the after-affects of your experiences. Being open about pain & struggling is strength.

If you're planning to visit UK, Scotland & Ireland, i suggest travelling to Faroe Islands as well. It's one of the most beautiful places on the planet but also secluded and a bit daunting. Very few flights and ferries operate from UK & Denmark and that may be an inconvenience while preparing the itinerary, but it's worth the trouble. The Islands have a long history and reading stories about the lives of people in who lived there in ages past still gives me goosebumps

Hi Maria, my mum has the same fear of growing older. But as she embraced her age more she has grown in grace and elegance, instead of focusing on her insecurities, she's focusing on loving as hard as she can with her family around her.
I love that life has blessed you, and with that comes the wonderful sacrifice of being a mother and wife. Stressful yes, but also beautiful. Those markers of "age" I find endearing on women.

Maria reminds me so much of my own mom. These kind of casual videos bring me so much peace and comfort and joy because I find all the words so familiar and I deeply understand all the feelings she expresses. I'm going to college across the country in less than a week and it'll be the first time I'm away from my parents for that long, but I'm not worried because whenever I miss them I can just watch one of Maria's videos and feel safe and loved again.
