The best demo of the great Nord Stage I have seen. Chris plays nice and shows the best of every sound. I have it, love and will keep it as long as it works.
@mysticradio im planning on buying it just because of its prog rock capabilities! the piano sounds great, the synth sounds exellent and I just cant wait for the organ!
Hi I just watched this, and although I love this synth, I also want to comment on how amazing Chris Martirano is haha, I know it may seem weird, but wow, he can really play some music!
OK, you can layer up to six sounds (two per section). A layer of piano, organ, and strings can be saved as a "panel" and the Nord Stage has two panels (A and B) that can played simultaneously. Regarding the effects, the two multi-effects processors (chorus, flanger, phaser) and delay processor can each be assigned to one of your sections (piano, organ, strings). The reverb and compressor affects the main output of the keyboard. Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
@ryancangri I'm sure you could set up splits with some sort of synth bass on the lower part of the keyboard and any other sound for the upper part of the split.
Hi, On the Nord Stage EX you can only load samples from the Nord Piano Library. The only pieces that support the Nord Sample Library are the Nord Wave and Nord Electro 3. Thanks for your interest! - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
What are the main differences between the stage EX, stage 2, and stage 2 EX? And do they still sell this stage, EX because the link in the description is to a nord electro, also whenever I search online "nord stage EX" I end up finding the nord stage 2EX. I realize it's predecessors are superior, but if the price difference is enough I would consider this model.
@numanuma20 The line outputs of the keyboard were plugged into a mixing board and then sent to our camera. An auxiliary send from the mixer was sent to a pair of powered monitor speakers so Chris could hear himself play without wearing headphones. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns. - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
Yeah, he's a great player and we hope to have him back at Kraft Music for more demos. Thanks for watching! - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
The sound you're hearing in this video is recorded directly from the Nord Stage EX into our camera. No additional amplifier was used. However, you will need to plug the Nord Stage into some kind of amplifier or speaker system, so this will be a factor when you use the Nord Stage for a performance. Thanks for watching! - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
Hi, The Nord Stage's strong points are certainly acoustic/electric pianos and organs, but it also has a great sounding synthesizer section. That being said, the Nord Stage is strictly a performance keyboard and does not allow for any recording or sequencing. You can certainly record and sequence by connecting a Nord Stage to a computer. Feel free to contact me with any other questions. - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
i went to a Piano store yesterday... im surprised, i played a Baldwin Grand piano. And i feel like i dont want togo home anymore. it sounds real very real. And when i got home i played my nord stage and my kronos, i feel like im playing a toy. 😢 now im thinking of getting a grand piano or even a good Upright. 🎶🎹
Hi, Thanks for your interest in Kraft Music and the Nord Stage EX. The Nord Stage does not feature any acoustic bass sounds, but you can program some pretty convincing synth bass sounds. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns. - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
@kraftmusic is there any possible way to upload samples to a Nord Stage EX other than those of the Nord Library lets say a wav file, or something from logic or philarmonik or whatever thanks
That's a big debate among keyboard players. We have two serious professional keyboardist here at Kraft Music and they both play Nord. One has no difficulty playing organ on weighted keys…the other can't stand it. I would say it just depends on what you're used to, but it's probably easier playing piano on a non-weighted board that playing organ on a weighted board. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns. - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
Great demo. I have one of the 1st generation Nord (2001) with waterfall keys and use my Nord mostly for live playing: Hammond organ rock and blues. How is it different playing the latest Nords with the weighted keys vs semi-weighted? I'm concerned that I can't get the same action/feel of playing organ on weighted keys. Your opinion, please. Thanks.
Hello, Yes, you can split this keyboard any way you like. However, there are no bass guitar sounds built-in. You can call up some pretty convincing synth bass sounds to use instead...Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns. - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
I dont understand why they dont put built in speakers in their keyboards like this and the microKorg..this is too much a hassle for practising, bringing round to friends for jamming etc..good built in speakers a must! A decent audio recorder and a simple 6 track loop machine built in seems natural too for any decent keyboard. I am amazed this isnt standard.
Hi, I don't believe this is possible. The samples from the Nord Library are a special proprietary format that can only be used with the Nord Stage or Nord Piano. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns. - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
If you want a keyboard with pianos rhodes, organ and true synth sounds, and be able to tweak and layers and split all of them together anyway you like. Get this board. The other popular brands like yamaha roland and korg, have good marketing and gimmicks, but soundwise they can't touch the Nord. Not even close.
When you buy a Nord, you are buying a $2000-$4000 piano/organ sound. Forget the functions that come with the synthesizers. If you play jazz, or classical, or need a rock organ, this is the board to get. If you want a versatile instrument that can get you through any gig. Then look elsewhere. They are the best sounding instruments on the market, and the most limited

You guys have excellent demos!
Cool demo of the use of pedals
I recognize the baroque counter-pointer figure in the harpsichord demo. That's from ELP's "Knife Edge"! Cool.
@mysticradio im planning on buying it just because of its prog rock capabilities! the piano sounds great, the synth sounds exellent and I just cant wait for the organ!

Bought it! Love it!
I need one badly. Gotta get one.

OMG! It is absolutely awesome!! :-)

hi there, I dont suppose you know if there is a nord stage piano with a bass split ? as i need to play bass guitar in my left hand?
@kraftmusic hello, is it possible to load some piano samples from nord piano library or mellotron sound from nord electro 3 library ?
kind regards
The one thing missing from this? The theramin sound!
Is the synthesizer all analogue circuitry or is it digital ?
what is the sound @4:00 called, brilliant video btw :)
What is the style of music you play first up? Is is a certain genre?
Are there no string arrangements on this keyboard?

the baroque prelude is from Bach's French Suites. Emerson ripped it off.

I think built-in speakers are for cheap keyboards.
Nord isn´t a cheap keyboard.
