The calmness in her voice is years of experience, beautiful ideas, impressions and intellectual understandings of life. This woman is just excellence personified.
What a lady. I like the fact that she has lived exactly as she wanted. She has no regrets n that's the way every woman shud feel when she lives as she wishes.
A very natural & organic interview with a very classy lady that almost everyone adores. La Tagore as she was once called continues to enthrall & hold ones attention with her very cultured & easy way of being. This interview was beautifully conducted & an absolute treat to watch.
Sharmila Tagore reminds me of my late mother.. My late mother was as graceful.. Pretty.. Even had slight resemblance to sharmila tagore..had Same age.. Yes I have my roots sprouting from India.. my maternal side was especially quite well settled in India and Pakistan... Had family based living on both sides... When at the time it was India... It was a terrible trauma to have left agricultural lands and related business in India...claims here were compared to nothing.. What was left behind in India...now all have passed away... our elders who left their homes in India.. @@nazmalik5390 very touchy history of your elegant family, I understand how heart breaking factor was to leave own lands & home to shift another country, where nothing is of own, own lands & home are not just a property, it links a lot with earlier generations, touch with own roots, it's like detaching of own root, nobody should face such painful heart breaking incident in life, most unfortunate that it happened only due to handful of political leaders own wish & egoistic mentality, which nothing concerned with mass people, many family departed
Sharmila Tagore is also from a grand rich cultured family of Bengal's Thakur family, Rabindranath Thakur was Novelist, Abanindranath Thakur, they all were stalwart of their own individual talents
Great interview,it was from the heart , Sharmila was a Diva when she was young and equally majestic now ,thanks Barkha for bringing our the best in your interviews ❤
Grew up watching and loving her….especially loved her choice of cinema. And above all it was great to know she is still watching and appreciating movies.
Great conversation.....Sharmila Tagore is an epitome of intelligence, class and mature thinking ...Tiger and she represent a way of life that is gracious, liberal and tolerant ( much needed in the times that we are living!)
Sharmila Tagore has elegance, class, intelligence, modesty, culture, and beauty. Barkha is of course a superb anchor who relates to the people she hosts, with sensitivity. The interview was a form of fine art.
I always knew that Ms Sharmila Tagore is so graceful, elegant and sober. Her way of choosing words is something we all must learn. She used "Inside themselves "instead of "Self-centred/ self obsessed" which shows she doesn't even want to utter such words and would use another appropriate word instead. No surprise that she hails from the Family of Guru RABINDRANATH THAKUR (TAGORE)...
It’s so nice to hear Sharmila ji, I loved watching her movies and I have a great respect for her, wishing her best in life, my love to her and her children and grand children
What a pleasure the interview was. I have always been a fan of hers and we share our birthday .In fact Hrishikesh mukherji would ring me up to wish me and tell me he wished sharmila too. I remember meeting her at the Bombay airport once and went and sat with her and we chatted while Soha and Saba were running around. She was travelling to calcutta and was cribbing good naturedly about having to pay excess baggage. I still remember her wearing a peach coloured salwar kameez with white dots and the two girls wearing frocks of the same material. She always speaks beautifully. Every time I saw Shammi kapoor he'd remember her. Today we don't have such people do we?
Suave beauty. As a 7 year old watching Aradhna - I was mesmerised with her mother role. I felt it real then. Defining class with mansoor - not visible now.
Very nice interview and good to see Barkha working on such projects. But she still has the divisive instinct in her. At times when Sharmilaji hwrself said I was not very keen on vbeing overtly religious or paid attention to hate comments Barkha still kept on rubbing that question. And the way her face lit when Sharmilaji said I kept roza.😮😮 that shows Barkha will never change.
Sharmila herself said that her husband's uncle was the general of Pakistan army. That's one of the many reasons why we had too much ISI agents or anti-India forces in India back then including Sharmila Begum and her husband. NIA should take strict actions against these ISI agents.
Bharkha an hypocrite and a blot to feminism.. I would not want her to represent women like myself who are in true sense liberal and traditional.. As for Sharmillaji an epitome of class, elegance and wittiness ❤
Sharmila is graceful, charming, soft spoken, elegant and yet a woman of grit . My personal opinion is that Tiger had a lot to do to make her what she is now , a woman of substance . Her vocab is not only subtle it is rich which makes her conversation so rich
My father was a frequent visitor to their family ( Tiger's) , at Duplex Rd, Delhi as a techer? /guide / mentor, and his mother Begum Sajida Sultan was quite upset with their decision, and my father advised her to accept it as there was no other option left.. so definitely there was some disquiet/ resistance, quite natural with inter faith marriages, then and for that matter even now , that's what my father narrated to us and I attended their wedding reception on 3rd January 1969, in Delhi, along with my father and elder brother, though the invite was only for my parents...., my mother was visiting Karachi then, so I insisted/ requested my father to take me along... oh what a gathering it was .... ladies from Bhopal looked very regal and elegant....everything still fresh in my mind... Dr Zakir Hussain, President of India, being one of the guests and Sharmila looked very cute... 3-4 days ? post marriage.... there was color coordination the bride did groom's immediate family ladies in turquoise blue..
Sharmila ji ur so graceful and so beautiful at this age, it's God s grace and ur a wonderful lady in managing both yr house and yr work as a career oriented woman. Hats off to u.🎉

Her acting chemistry with Biswajeetda, Soumitrada, late Jatin Khanna, etc.is indeed incredible. Bur it was Manikda(Satyajit Ray Sir) who really discovered her innate histrionic abilities.
Barkha's questions are very long. Should have edited some of that out. Too much talking and meddling when Sharmila Tagore is talking. But a very good nevertheless. Important questions and so beautifully answered.
Why her conversion to Islam is not asked by barkha?whether she converted only for sake of marrying a muslim nawab or she was convinced.this might have most interesting question.
She is a graceful woman. However a child is named is the right of the parents. I will not name my child as Hitler or Tippu, as I know they were two tyrants in their times. For us Keralites and Mangaloreans, Tippu Sulthan was a force of destruction. He destroyed mangalorean Churches and Hindu temples in North Kerala. There was forceful conversion into Islam as well. How about Taimur?
Sharmila Tagore is the Epitome of grace and class 😍

She is the epitome of culture. Hats off to her. Thanks Barkha for interviewing her. She is the perfect Indian woman.
Mamata Shankar and all her followers should listen to this interview and know what progressiveness is from Sharmila Tagore ma'am.
So dignified! I can listen to her talk for hours. Not pretentious like all the current Bollywood actors!

I met Ma’am at a London mall In 2019 epitome of grace and beauty I wished her and she acknowledged Sharmila Tagore is such a role model for us women
She’s one of my favourite from yesteryear’s. And it’s lovely to hear her speak with grace and clarity. Stellar human ❤
Sharmila carries herself so gracefully. One lesson interviewers should learn from her- listen more.

Mentality typical of bongs. Rabindranath gene's probably forced her to strip to gain cheap fame, convert to the Muslim religion, etc.
We can listen her for hours. Love from 🇧🇩 Sharmila mam
Sharmila is a great actress and deserves acknowledgement on her work
The classiest actress of Indian cinema along with Wahida Rehman ❤️

Classy and dignified human being
The interviewer is so annoying! Always interrupting Sharmila ji, causing her to lose her thoughts and momentum.
Barkha can never match the charma and aura which Smita Prakash has
Dignify person like u very much
I think her beauty comes from her peace of mine she look very peaceful she says good things . She more beautiful and her 2 daughter ln law
