Thanks for the video, I gave this a try and it works beautifully, but people should keep in mind that even if the operating system recognises the H6 as an audio device, your specific audio and video apps may not support anything except the in-built microphone. I had to find a third-party app for my Nokia 8 that would support USB Audio, and after failing to find a free one that worked bought FiLMiC Pro for Android, which was around AU$21.00 (approx US$16), so I can vouch for that one. Another tip...if your USB-C OTG cable keeps falling out (in which case I found the H6 shuts off), then it's probably because the socket on your phone has jammed up with lint and dust. You can scrape this out with a very fine pick of some sort (I've used a tiny jewellers screwdriver but I'd recommend finding something non-metallic so you don't short anything, and do it with the phone off).
@@oneshottabletalk7599 Out of the box the H6 has 4x microphone/line inputs and two optional clip-on microphones (I think both are stereo). You can buy alternative optional clip-on microphones (shotguns etc.) but I bought a clip-on that provides two extra line/mic channels, so you can get 6 mono inputs simultaneously. When connected to my phone these are mixing down to stereo (you do the mixing on the H6)
@@oneshottabletalk7599 if you're live recording acoustic instruments the H6 is very handy, but depending on what you're doing you might want to look at their multitrack units as well, such as the R24/R16 which have a proper mixer interface and can record 8 tracks simultaneous (and play back 16 or 24 tracks). There are also Tascam equivalents to both the H6 and the Multitrack recorders, plus other brands in the portable record space. That said, the H6 is a very handy and proven unit, designed to mount on a camera for field recording.
Good suggestion: Ditch the OTG adapter and use a USB mini to USB C adapter. One cord, no man in the middle connections. It's cleaner and more direct - every link in the connection cuts into the signal a little. Just make sure the cable handles data as well as power before you buy it.

Very nice! I have a Zoom H6 and the kit with two plug in mics and 11' extension cable and don't use it at ALL. Could you also use the line out of the H6 and use a stereo mini TRS to go to your phone, tablet or Ipad?

Hm… that time I was using a Samsung phone. Now using iPhone also, but 12th. Did not try it with Zoom. But what can be compared is Zoom MV88. I haven’t tried it, but I see it has very alike capsules as Zoom H6
