Im new to poe and i basically managed to understand most of it by playing but this crafting part was very confusing until you made it very simple! Thank you !
Great video thank you! One tweak I will add is I learned that the "requires" line on an item is not the item level. If you hover over an item and hold alt it will tell you the actual item level. "Requires" is for just the use of it. For example, I have found item level 27 (by holding alt) which requires you to be level 16. (not sure what the button is for the controller but it is the "inspect" option) Not sure if the gap between level requires and level of the item means that its not good, but its something to pay attention to.
Big tip. Save anything beaides transmutation. Make blue gear and keep it within 5 or so levels of yourself. This will ger you far into game. Once you got gems slottes and skills are level 12 plus then start hunting yellows. Minion builds need a good sceptre for example.
This is useful for new players thanks. Knowing what to do with loot was doing my head in. I wasn't sure what to pick up and develop basically but I think the point about the starting level is the most important. Find a similar starting level similar to your level for the loot and then try your luck (With the white loot) Then with blues look for a decent starting stat. I was focusing on if I should look for implicit bonuses or something.
There is "Superior" equipment stated QUALITY that drops VERY RARE. I notice their stats is extra higher. I saw RUclips for poe(1), says it's better to go higher quality to go socketing. But Superior Armor comes in Very Rare drop in rerun the map 4 or more times. I got some in farming gold to respec for my act 1 final boss.😂 CLEARED it with my lv20 witch.
I have a question about damage conversion in PoE2. If an effect allows you to convert elemental damage (like fire, lightning ...) into bleeding damage, does that mean we should focus on scaling the converted damage type (bleeding in this case) instead of the original elemental type? For example, if bleeding scales with physical damage, should we prioritize high physical stats on our weapon and physical-based modifiers to increase the overall damage of the ability? Or is there still some benefit to scaling the original elemental damage source? Is this correct?
Rare doesn't automatically have 6 affixes. They have between 3-6, and no more than 3 prefixes and 3 suffixes. This is important, because some affixes ONLY appear as prefixes and others only appear as suffixes. So you need to look at the item, and if it has 3 suffixes and the affix you want only rolls as an affix, then you're straight wasting currency trying to get that affix to roll on it.
I cant remember, but is there a keyboard key you can push to see what you have on the item as in 1 affix and 2 prefex as example so you will know if you already have all three of one?
@@khlfff2 In PoE1, yes. In PoE2, no. Changing it to yellow (rare) will only add 1 affix, so you'll have 3. You can then add up to three more on that rare item though using currency. If a rare item drops however, it'll have between 3 and 6 affixes right away.
@Caniscanemwurst there isn't really a defining difference. It's more just that some bonuses only come as prefixes, and some only come as affixes. It's a hidden mechanic, essentially. One of the many in POE
Oh yikes dude, I don't think that is something that is possible. Each class will have different type of builds and with each build, you'll need/want items that help with said build, helps with skills etc. You could rock a ranger who is lightening based or decide to wield a crossbow and grenade lob. It could be a poison build or fire etc. You're best bet is to look at specific build guides. For example, just look at Poe 1 build guides and you will see what I mean even tho POE2's skill tree is actually a tree and not a forest, there is still a pretty big diversity in builds for just one type of class. EDIT: Just make sure when you do decide to follow a POE 2 build guide, make sure its up to date with the current game build.
I was pretty confused doing act one. Had mostly the same gear with max level 5 on because the stats were better than any other random gear I got lol. This was simple and straight forward thank you.
It was a great video, and I was able to understand how to craft my items. I would like to give feedback when you were the covering Runes, as your face cam blocked it.

I wonder if the items has levels from where your values on gear can roll higher (on sorc for instance). Like breakpoints...like lvl 56 staff can spawn with +4 light skills on it instead of +3 max until then or something like that
One question, there seem to be qualities to the item. Not talking about the +20% quality added but the item itself can be advanced or superior or something like that. Can superior items have more than 6 stats on them?
My first use of exalt orb didn't add a fifth affix to the item, and I've never used exalt ever since. I'm here to confirm if there's a chance that it does something besides adding a new one.
Is every blue Item considered a "magic" item? Sometimes if I want to use a Orb of Augmentation on a blue Item, it tells me it is not possible because the item is not magic.
I wanna know about base items, gotta start with the right base... if you want +skeletons you gotta get the right scepter base... i want a xbow w +Projectile skills or Gernades fire additional so I need a Bombarrd Crossbow base item...
I guess depends how lucky you get on drops! I try and get a new weapon as early as possible. And then usually leave the gear until I start getting one shot by mobs
5:15 why one exalted orb gives two modifiers? If the energy shield modifier is a paired modifier that counts as one, then why in the torso you're wearing the +% increase energy shield has no pair?
there is one affix, which is a prefix, where it adds "#% increased Energy Shield, +# to maximum Energy Shield", and it can only apply to INT based armor, or armors that gives only additional Energy Shield..
Tips on where how to get the items that turn blue into yellow, and add extra adfixis to the yellow? Have not been dropping much for me yet (level 40 now)
Great guide I’m new to Poe so was very helpful. One question though I haven’t been able to disenchant any identified items, I can do it if they are unidentified but once I identify them either with scrolls or hooded one it’s just not letting me disenchant them am I doing something wrong or is this a bug? And yes i kno it only works on magic and rares
If you can disenchant an unidentified item then you already know how to disenchant so it can't be a user error. It is probably some kind of a bug. Identified or not, it should work the same.
as a witch i need more spirit and im not finding gear with it on execpt a basic staff, i knklw there are very very small upgrades but there not worth at the moment ,and orange at level 40 ive yet to see one, so how the hell do i increase spirit ? level 40 and 4 weeks skeletons and some zombies isnt the best ,

I think it’s used for a little more convenient item crafting/upgrading. You select an item like this creator did with the magic top, and drag and drop orbs into it, just a closer place to drag and drop items to, like a crafting bench.
@sevastjangretsits1868 thanks. You're likely right. I'm new to the POE genre. I put all kinda things in that rectangle and couldn't modify any of them. Likely due to not having the right crafting materials. Maybe with the recent patch and increased drop rates, I'll find some things to try.

Upgrading itself is a very simple process, but the exalteds will be expensive when attempting to build a new piece of gear. This would only be more viable for endgame where materials will be more availble. For now I will hope for good vendor stuff or lucky drops. Good luck folks in your "crafting".
It feels too random. Coming from poe, why would I waste my hard earned exalts on an item that will most likely not have at least 2 affixes I'm looking for?
What about “item level”? If I have a level 5 robe with 5 boost that I like. Or a level 15 with 3 boost that I like. Should I go with the higher “item level” or does that not matter?
Boosts have tiers. The higher level your gear, the higher tiers the boost can be. An example could be fire resist only being 8% on a level 1 item but the fire boost can roll up to 17% on a level 20 robe. If you have the orbs, you should get a piece of gear that fits the defense you need, make it into a magic item, and if you like those boosts and they're high enough to be better than what you have, you can make it rare to get the rest of the boosts
I’m new to these type of games . Just got this game and I find it super hard to figure out what to actually do to level up faster . Other than that I like the game so far .
I’m also new to PoE but have played a lot of other games before. Here are some things I’ve learned that might help you and others starting out too: 1. Identify Items Before Selling to Vendors: This gives you more value when selling. 2. Armor Types Matter: It took me a while to understand the differences between armor stats like Energy Shield, Evasion, and regular Armor. From what I’ve noticed, warriors seem to focus on Armor, witches on Energy Shield, and monks on a mix of Evasion + Energy Shield. (Maybe a Veteran is reading this and can answer if this is really correct) 3. Stat Requirements for Items: I didn’t realize at first that vendor items have stat requirements. For example, my monk’s starting weapon was a staff needing Dexterity + Intelligence, and the same applied to my armor. Trying to equip Strength-based items isn’t sustainable because the stat requirements scale with levels. 4. Skill Stat Requirements: Borrowing a warrior skill for my monk seemed cool at first, but as I leveled it up, the required stats became too high, making the skill unusable. BUT THIS IS OK you just doublecheck your stats before upgrading your skillgems with pressing "C" .. How much from what attribute do I have .. ah I am only at 29 STRENGTH and my jump attack needs 30 STRENGTH if I upgrade it now. then I shouldn swap out the Strength armor yet and instead change aattribute node in passive skill tree then I can make my spell become stronger and still use it! 5. Using the blue orb to turn white items into magic ones and adding an extra stat with another orb made these items much more valuable when selling. 6. Higher-tier orbs are better saved for critical upgrades, as tough moments in the game can demand them. 7. If you know the hooded NPC, you can hold Ctrl and click to identify all items in your inventory at once, skipping submenus. 8. The Gambler NPCs: In Act 1, for instance, Finn lets you spend gold for random items. Sometimes you can get great rare gear that helps a lot... and sometimes he gives you extreme garbage... but maybe you are lucky by upgrading those items. For example you really need a new ring because yours suck... you spend you last gold on a ring gamble and end up becoming a blue one with only 1 stat on it... dont sell or destroy it! Go to your chest or werever you hord your orbs and add a additional stat to your magic item (Magic Items can always have up too 2 Stats.. and rare items up to 6 or maybe 7!) What I wanna say.. with the right gems in correct order you can level up a not so good looking item to something outstanding! But remember to not spend all recources you have... 9. Loot items on the ground sometimes show dots next to their names this means they have a Socket on them. After completing a quest for the smith in Act 1 (retrieving his tools), you gain access to a bench in town. Destroying socketed items there gives shards, and collecting 10 shards lets you craft a socket item. Those could give you the needed res in armor or damage boost a ability or sup gem needs! Be cautious, though-once runes are inserted into sockets, they can’t be removed. 10. If you read the text "Superior" next to a ground items name TAKE IT. It has a new core stat called Quality that emproves stats from this item! If its not good ... upgrade or again Go to your bench like you do with those socket items and destroy it ... those also give shards that become good orbs after collecting enough. Progressing and learning more becomes a lot easier from here. Hope this helps!
@ I forgot the .. I think most wholesome thing that already breaks my mind. Next time you have a Gem to level up abilities or cut new once press it and look at the left bottom of the list ... it says "all gems" what actually means you can craft every gem from every class no matte if you can or can not equip it. this was Truely gamechanging for me :)

2. Armor Types Matter: It took me a while to understand the differences between armor stats like Energy Shield, Evasion, and regular Armor. From what I’ve noticed, warriors seem to focus on Armor, witches on Energy Shield, and monks on a mix of Evasion + Energy Shield. (Maybe a Veteran is reading this and can answer if this is really correct)
@ very solid information here . Thanks for taking the time . This helps immensely!!👍
@ wow didn’t know that thanks !!😊
