I love how they actually did the effort to make the other Yai tanned (very important according to the timeline) and in full costume. Too bad it was a short scene and couldn't see all that underwater.

will this make more sense once we have watched the whole show? still wondering why he was sporting a mustache in that early scene and why they sprayed tan on his chest (since I didn't notice he was darker skinned underwater)

I think they've been together in many lifetimes, that's why the monk said they are destined to meet. so the tanned and tattoed yai might be from an earlier timeframe may be the 1800s. we'll discover it eventually.

while watching ep1 I wondered: what happened to his airbags? such a modern car and no airbags stopping him from yeeting through the windshield? plus he was remarkably unhurt for exiting his car in such a violent manner once he reached the other end of that time tunnel.

It's always interesting to watch the behind the scenes action to get a clearer picture of how the entire show is put together in the first place...
Watching the accident and Jom going into the water in the first place is amazing ....
Everything is well thought out, then practice makes perfect with timing...
