I had tears streaming down and then you said he just needs a couple more days. I busted out laughing. Glad you found the pacifier and trusted that random nought of blessing.
Time... for some time now this has become my favorite word. Time. Congratulations on wonderful addition to your team! That baby is lucky to have you guys.
Yup, I definitely cried. My suprise #5 baby was born at home in 2020. She came so fast, I was completely alone. I caught her and held her close until help came. She had a breathing scare too(while still at home). I really felt your birth story and I'm giving Heidi the biggest virtual hug. Sending love and prayers to your beautiful growing family!! Kelso is a blessed boy and so precious ❤
I love how your dad instincts kicked in, and it ended up saving him from something much more invasive. Praise the Lord. Great job mama and dad. Congratulations💛
Hi I’m a respiratory therapist ! What you actually did was close the open leak of his mouth which allowed the CPAP to properly pressurize and inflate his lungs without it all leaking out his mouth! Good job daddy!

Congratulations!! The same thing happened with my daughter. She was in the NICU for 7 days. Now she is loud, healthy, full of life and a huge set of strong lungs 11 year old. Y'all are in my prayers. I know it is scary. Welcome to the world Kelso
Congratulations. Both of my girls are NICU graduates and are thriving now, but it is such a difficult time. I remember leaving the hospital without my baby and feeling like my world was falling apart, and all the guilt of wanting to be home with my other kid but also supporting the baby. Thank you for sharing. ❤️ Edit-okay I didn’t see the even more emotional stuff til after I wrote this and wow that is so much to happen after having your baby! Prayers!
Thank you for sharing your story, this is super inspirational for want-to-be moms like me! I've always felt that I'll probably need to forgo epidurals (I don't do well with pain meds) and I'd also like to have a natural birth if possible. People always say that it's semi-impossible to do and I was feeling discouraged. It's good to hear other women's stories and see that it is possible even in the present day. So thank you this really blessed me!! Wishing you the best on your delivery journey!
Heidi is the most amazing creature! She carries around a basketball for almost a year, then hardly blinks when she gives birth. Otto was fast, but this little guy was mach speed! I am in awe of how far you both have come since you were serenading her. God is so GOOD!
Wow what a fast delivery. Congratulations on bringing a beautiful boy into the world. I’m praying that Kelso get better soon and everybody get to go home.
Being a NICU parent isn't something I would wish on anyone, no one wants to be in this group but tons and tons of us are. Brought back so emotions. Thinking of you both and all the kids!
This feels so monumental now but will just be a blip in the birth story later. That is one healthy looking boy. We are all going to enjoy watching him grow with your other kids. Good job, Heidi!
We've watched yall on RUclips for a while. My son was born at 27 weeks and 4 days. We spent just under 4 months in the NICU. It feels impossible, overwhelming, and scary, but just remember yall aren't alone. My son is 4 now and is thriving. He's the reason I started our nonprofit to help NICU families. You'll be amazed at how resilient babies are. Thinking of yall. Kelso has amazingly tough parents ❤
Oh my goodness! This story hits home so much. Our 4th baby was also in the NICU, and did get intubated. They had to drive her to a hospital an hour and a half away from us right after she was born so we were separated for a few hours. Hardest thing of my life! I hope Kelso is doing better, and that Heidi is also doing ok!
I am 70 years old and far removed from the time of our own childrens' births, but found myself moved to tears as I watched this. Thank you Heidi and Taylor for sharing this experience with us.
How is it even possible to look so good after giving birth to another human being? Heidi and Taylor: I love you, our heavenly father is with you, giving you strength through the toughness of the situation. You both inspire so many people, this got me the feels. We'll be praying for your wellbeing. Thank you for sharing this.
We had our third in Nov. Came super fast and didn't get all the fluid squeezed out....had a 5 day NICU stay. Your story touched us deeply, and we feel how it is to have postpartum not go the way you planned and not get all the baby snuggles and bonding right away.
From one NICU family to another, we feel your pain and excitement right along with you. Our little boy was in the NICU for four weeks last year, also from meconium aspiration. Your story hits very close to home, but know that you have a strong community of NICU parents supporting you. It looks like Kelso is moving along really quickly, so we pray you get to bring him home soon. Congratulations!!
This made me pick my 5 month old son up and hug and kiss the hell out of him! Our children are the best things that ever happened to us. Congratulations on the beautiful addition to your family!
Hang in there! I had two babies that needed time in the NICU for different reasons. It can be hard to spend that early time apart, but he will be well taken care of and home before you know it. Those NICU nurses are the sweetest people on the planet.
Congratulations!! My son was in the NICU for 9 days. It’s only been about eight months since he was born and I’m still processing how traumatic that was. Any amount of time there is hard. Praying you get to bring him home soon. ❤
I’m a doula in the springs! Love your little (now big family) and praying for your little guy! “He just needs a few more days..” there have been so many times my husband had believed for me or stayed positive in hard times with our kids. We have four too and while mamas are so strong and Heidi is amazing God gave the family a dad for moments like these!
God bless your growing family. It brings more meaning to the question " Are both mother and baby doing well? ". We need to treasure life and family as a gift. Best wishes for a full recovery to both. And may Everyone s nerves be at peace.
Blessings to Heidi for putting her life on the line to deliver this beautiful soul. Honor to Dad for listening to his instincts and showing the world how strong Kelso really is. Love and Blessings to Kelso, our sweet, perfect and precious nephew ❤
There's nothing like that moment you first see the face of the little person you've been feeling move and hiccup for all those months. I did this seven times and it was always miraculous. Way to go, Dad, too, for saving him from that invasive procedure. Congratulations! He is beautiful!
Watching this with my birthday girl as I relive my own daughter's delivery 6 years ago tonight. She is thriving and the delight of my life. We are so glad Kelso is doing better. 💜
Wow! Adding my prayers for Kelso's swift and complete recovery. Congrats to Heidi for going all the way with no meds. For me that was the best way. Nothing is more empowering for a woman than to give birth!! You're a great family.
I am just so grateful baby man is alive and well, and will be home soon. He is a Calmus, he is a strong little fighter, and he and his siblings are gonna beat this world together. He already surprised the doctors in a great way by taking to the pacifier and letting them know they were overreacting a pinch on the severity of things. Good man, Kelso. Good man.
I watch all of your videos, but I have to say this was my favorite. U could feel all the love and emotions both of you were feeling during this video. Congrats and I'm happy everything is going great with Kelso!
Heidi and Taylor, you did amazing! I can’t imagine how you must feel right now, my heart goes out to you, your family and precious baby. ❤ Also Heidi I admire the positive attitude you had during your pregnancy, I could have cut a slice of that for my past pregnancies. ❤
Thanks for the tears guys!!! So glad he’s doing better and congrats to you both!!! Way to go Heidi, you didn’t even have time to prepare for that little bundle of joy!!! What a blessing I’m so happy for you both ❤
God Bless you all! I’m so happy for you! My son came in under 15 mins in the 30 th month and spent 5 weeks in NICU. The Nurses in there are fierce as dragons and they know what they are doing. He will be perfect!
Woah! That was fast! Like super fast! Praying for Kelso, and yes, I'm so glad the Dad instincts kicked in. My husband actually didn't stay with me but with our babies as soon as they were born, watching the nurses' every move. We hadn't talked about it all (we didn't even go to classes, we got married very young, I was still in full time school, I read the books, we were naive about it, I don't know, I guess we didn't think about it). But there was just something instinctual about it for him and I didn't seem to take issue with it. I didn't need a lot of hand holding anyway. And I'm so glad he did. Our babies didn't have any issues, but looking back, I'm glad he was there for them from the beginning while I was getting taken care of by my nurses. Way to go, Dad! I look forward to hearing about more of your story. Thank you for sharing your story thus far. It's always a very intimate thing to share. Congrats!
Congratulations! This brought me right back to when our son was born two years ago. He had to be resuscitated after being delivered and was having problems breathing as well. It was so stressful, but taking him home from NICU was the best feeling ever! So happy for y'all!
Congratulations to the entire family! Heidi, you have a special place in my heart! You are a warrior and such a kind and caring human being! Blessings and prayers for Kelso and for you guys!!! 💕
As the Dad of a preterm baby, this gave me all the feels. Be strong; it gets harder the longer you are there, but just know he will be home with you soon ❤
I'm not crying,ok I'm crying!! So absolutely beautiful. And I know the very struggle. My oldest daughter was born with a severe heart condition and spent 3 weeks in NICU right after birth. Sending many positive thoughts and prayers for Heidi, and your beautiful family.
Guys, this is such a private and personal story. It’s beautiful and wondrous, even miraculous. Tears here. Thank you both SO much for sharing, even when it’s hard and vulnerable. Prayers for continued healing.
Congratulations and welcome to the world Kelso! What a beautiful baby boy! My twins were slightly early so they spent a little bit of time in the NICU too. Leaving the hospital without them felt crushing and I definitely feel for you guys. It wasn't long before they were home, but my heart ached for them. Now those two are healthy 18 year olds headed off to college in the Fall. And my heart will burst with pride, and probably ache again.
Praising God for baby Kelso! Praying for you Heidi! As a mother I can’t imagine how your feeling God will strengthen you and Taylor! And Kelso will be safe and sound at home with you all before you know it!
Thank you for sharing such an intimate time in your lives. To see the fear and joy upon both of your faces brings tears to my eyes. Heidi, you’re such a rock star ⭐️! Taylor, you’re such a great support for her. Praising her for the difficult task she’s of birthing baby and making sure she’s loved on and cared for after. You guys are an extremely humorous family but you are just as much or even more loving. Here’s to a speedy recovery! Congratulations! Welcome to the family, Baby Kelso! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
My granddaughter had the same issue, scared the daylights out of us. Thankfully, she’s a healthy and strong 9 year old now ❤️. Hang in there Mom and Dad, Kelso will be fine👶🏼. Keep us updated ❤️❤️
I had one of my sons in just under an hour. Kelso is so beautiful. Heidi didn't look spent at all right after delivery. Pretty as always. I hope that Kelso's lungs clear up without further issues. Congratulations on your new family member!
❤ "he just needs a few more days" praying for a speedy healing for kelso and heidi! Also taylors comments on his favorite part of pregnancy were SO beautiful!!
Everyone talks about a mother's intuition (which is totally a thing and is an incredible miracle), but I think that a father's intuition is a very powerful thing too. Way to be in tune with your inner dad-ness. Congrats!
Heidi & Dude Dad, you don’t know us but I feel like you’re part of our family. This was incredibly emotional to watch. What an experience-I’m crying over here tears of happiness for Kelso’s arrival as well as tears for what you must be feeling. I hope you can feel our prayers from Pennsylvania ❤️
You guys are what we need right now. In this world, in this nation. You love life with each other and you two are still so in love with each other. Dont ever lose sight of that and never give up on each other. God bless!
Thank God baby Kelso is healthy. Taylor, you giving Kelso the pacifier was 💯 divine intervention. Heidi, you made giving birth look so easy. Glad you’re doing well. Love and blessings to all ❤ Congratulations Calmus family.
My son had the same experience when he was born and had to stay the first few days in the NICU. It is a tough thing to process when things don't go as they should. Prayers for you and your sweet boy, and congratulations!
Congratulations! It's so hard when they're taken to the NICU and you're all alone. I'm still processing that myself almost 2 years later, but you work through it in waves. We'll pray for your family. ❤
Ecxactly. I felt like someone stole my baby, that first night without him was a nightmare. But Baby are fighters, he willl come through. Wish you lots of patience and God’s comfort through these days.
Aww congratulations! My son did the same thing and they found holes in his lungs as well. He was on a CPAP in NICU for 3 days and then nasal cannula and then came home on the 5th day. He is a jumping health boy of three now and had no lasting effects. Praise the Lord. Praying for you all and hope you have a quick recovery as well.
Oh my goodness! Glad you made it to the hospital before Kelso arrived. That was emotional enough, then to see everything else? Wow! Very moving. Hang in there! Sending hugs and love and wishes for a quick recovery for everyone!
This brought me to tears. You are such a beautiful family and the way you treat eachother is so special. Sending good vibes for a speedy recovery for mom and babe and for everyone to make it home safe very soon.
Heidi talking about processing that first hour hit me all over again. I had twins that were whisked away with breathing problems and taken 1/2 hour away by ambulance to NICU. I was a mess until I was able to hold my son the next day. Then I knew it would be alright.
This made me cry! When I had my second son, he was born with a pneumothorax and they had to put a small tube down his throat and feeding tube. I was a wreck those first few hours because they swept him away and he didn’t come back down for 10 days. I understand this feeling so much! But my son is now a bouncing 4 year old with immense energy 😂 Taylor, your dad instinct to give him that pacifier at that exact moment was amazing! It saved him from having to be tuned. ❤️ Heidi, I feel your mama emotions from here. I understand 100% what that feels like when they take your baby away in a rush and all the hormones come rushing through because he isn’t in your arms. It’s overwhelming and completely relevant! I’m so sorry he’s going through this and you two are watching this happen but I’m praying for baby Kelso and for you and Taylor! Praying Gods peace overcomes you and that baby Kelso recovers quickly and without incident. I love watching you guys! Your videos are funny and inspiring. Keep it up! You guys are amazing and God is with you and in control of this whole situation. You need not fear for He will be with you always. ❤
My neice was in the same situation. But the nearest hospital to treat her was 90 miles away. My sister couldn't be there for several days. She pulled thru & she's an adult now living her life! Congratulations family! Pulling for you Kelso!
97 hours of labor with a 4° episiotomy...my daughter was covered in meconium. She aspirated it too. They kept her two weeks on antibiotics then she was fine. Congrats on all those kids! You are so lucky. 💖
And I thought my 36 hours of labor, then 3 hours of hard pushing was long. Turns out I had nothing to complain about, lol. They ended up doing a C-section where they accidentally cut into my uterine artery, so we ended up staying a week in the hospital. I didn't get to hold our baby for the first time for over 24-hours, but his dad did, so that made me feel much better.
I am so sorry Kelso had issues and was taken so fast. That’s got to be ROUGH mom & dad! Heidi soo precious to see all your births. Thanks for sharing, and thanks Taylor for creating!. Amazing family. Kelsie is my name. Nikname Kelso, I APPROVE 🤪
Congratulations Taylor, Heidi, the Calmus family, and Kelso welcome to the world! Everything is going to go well. She didn't even have time to take her jewelry off! And then super dude dad comes in and saves the day! What a story!!! Taylor, we hope you are promoted to Chief Pediatrician after this!
Kelso welcome to the world. Huge hugs hugs congratulations to the whole family. He's strong like his mom and dad before you know it he'll be keeping you up all night
I wonder if it’s something about the 4th! My SIL had her 4th so quickly - we were supposed to watch her olders when she had the baby and she was perfectly fine at dinner… The next morning we woke up to a picture of the baby! I had missed the call and she had the baby after about 2-3 hours of labor. Edit: and my mom’s 4th was born before my dad could park the car.
@@Rosie_C My first baby was born 8 weeks ago, only 26 mins after my water broke & pushing for only 3 mins! If the next babies are faster I will have to be prepared lol because we got to the hospital 20 mins before he was born.
My little guy ended up in NICU on a cpap and it was the roughest 4 days of my life. He is 5 months old now and doing fantastic. Praying Kelso recovers quickly and gets to come home.
Praying for you guys! God is with you. What a blessing this sweet baby boy is. Congratulations guys!!! Kelso is so blessed to be a part of your family.
That's so hard. My twins were born via emergency c-section (just this December) and I couldn't see them for close to 36 hours and it was so hard. The first night I could hear the babies in other rooms crying and being comforted, but mine felt like they were on another planet. I'm so happy he's doing well 😍
@dude dad congratulations to u both🎉🎉 super scary for sure my first born spent 7 days in NICU on cpap .. even had to go home without him. Much love ❤ and congratulations again.. hopefully scary part is over
ahhh my forth came that quickly too!!! I wish I had someone filming with the minutes counting down like that! Nurses delivered my baby girl the moment I finally was able to move from the wheelchair to the stretcher! Can't wait to hear about his full recovery! praying for you all.
Our third baby came so fast as well and she breathed in amniotic fluid and we were so worried. She was able to cough it up and they monitored her closely because she was also getting phototherapy as well right after birth. I’m so sorry you didn’t get your golden hour with your sweet boy. But grateful your care team recognized his needs and he is being well cared for. Best wishes to you all! And congratulations on that sweet baby boy!!
Oh gosh, I'm crying. I love watching birth stories and seeing that face of aww and wonder that your miracle is finally in your arms. Many congrats to you, Taylor and Heidi!
Congratulations, and thank you for sharing. I have been praying for a safe delivery. This issue will hopefully just be a blip in time and you will be home with him! Great job, both mom and dad! Share his weight and length when you get the chance!
We went through the exact same thing with our now-16-year-old daughter. She was in the NICU for four days, and it was the longest four days of my life. I feel for you all! God bless you and send healing to baby Kelso!
I've had two babies go straight into the NICU. I know how heart rending it is. It's ok to grieve the loss of the experiences you thought you'd have and the things you wanted for you and your family. Heal, rest and be well. ❤️ Be strong, Kelso.
Subscribe and stay tuned for the rest of Kelso's story!

You'll be amazed at how resilient babies are. Thinking of yall. Kelso has amazingly tough parents ❤
That was emotional, holy cow. Congratulations, he is just a precious little nugget!
he's so perfect
As a nicu nurse this birth story brought tears to my eyes. ❤️ Hang in there! He is such a sweet little boy. He just needs a couple more days! ❤️❤️❤️
💙
I am 70 years old and far removed from the time of our own childrens' births, but found myself moved to tears as I watched this. Thank you Heidi and Taylor for sharing this experience with us.
How is it even possible to look so good after giving birth to another human being? Heidi and Taylor: I love you, our heavenly father is with you, giving you strength through the toughness of the situation. You both inspire so many people, this got me the feels. We'll be praying for your wellbeing. Thank you for sharing this.
Fast labour--at least 7 out of 10 times.
No kidding. I didn't look this good after one let alone 4. Heidi you are a rock star mama. ❤
@@AlbertaRose94 I had three fast labors, and I looked like I just ran a marathon! 🥴 Heidi is ridiculously beautiful. 🤷♀
@@AlbertaRose94nah I gave birth in two hours and looked like a troll 🤣
We had our third in Nov. Came super fast and didn't get all the fluid squeezed out....had a 5 day NICU stay. Your story touched us deeply, and we feel how it is to have postpartum not go the way you planned and not get all the baby snuggles and bonding right away.
Your stories make me less nervous to have my own child. Thank you for sharing your life with all of us.
You got this!
Why am I crying….prayers for Kelso and Heidi and Taylor. Taylor I do believe Kelso’s Guardian Angel was helping. Congratulations!
I’m tearing up. Great job Heidi - can’t believe he arrived in 2 minutes! and thank God Taylor found that binkie! Congratulations and welcome Kelso! 🎉
Hang in there! I had two babies that needed time in the NICU for different reasons. It can be hard to spend that early time apart, but he will be well taken care of and home before you know it. Those NICU nurses are the sweetest people on the planet.
We are very lucky that you chose to share this story with us. Much love from your fans!
Thanks!
I’m crying here! I’m so glad he was more stable than they thought - paise God!
Well, now I’ve thoroughly washed my eyes and face 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Sending all of our growing and healing love to Kelso and Momma and good job daddy
Heidi and Taylor, you did amazing! I can’t imagine how you must feel right now, my heart goes out to you, your family and precious baby. ❤
Also Heidi I admire the positive attitude you had during your pregnancy, I could have cut a slice of that for my past pregnancies. ❤
Thanks for the tears guys!!! So glad he’s doing better and congrats to you both!!! Way to go Heidi, you didn’t even have time to prepare for that little bundle of joy!!! What a blessing I’m so happy for you both ❤
❤
God Bless you all! I’m so happy for you! My son came in under 15 mins in the 30 th month and spent 5 weeks in NICU. The Nurses in there are fierce as dragons and they know what they are doing. He will be perfect!
These videos always make me cry, tears of joy and worry and everything. Love you guys, and praying for Heidi and Kelso and the whole gang!
Congratulations. Gosh I didn’t expect to cry so much, and that was before I saw the issue. Best wishes to your beautiful family.
Congratulations!! I started out with tears of joy and they quickly changed to tears of concern. Praying for speed to normalcy for baby Kelso. ❤🙏🏽
Thanks for following along Anna!
Love and blessings to all ❤
Congratulations Calmus family.
Thank you :)
Praying for all of you ❤ Thank you for sharing his story in the middle of all that you are going through!
Oh my goodness! Glad you made it to the hospital before Kelso arrived. That was emotional enough, then to see everything else? Wow! Very moving. Hang in there! Sending hugs and love and wishes for a quick recovery for everyone!
Thank you for sharing and keeping us updated to date...praying for you all! And congratulations, he is beautiful 🥰🥰🥰
Thank you so much!
But my son is now a bouncing 4 year old with immense energy 😂
Taylor, your dad instinct to give him that pacifier at that exact moment was amazing! It saved him from having to be tuned. ❤️
Heidi, I feel your mama emotions from here.
What beautiful children! 😍 Heidi is the best. Ohh and so is dad.
thank you, I think so too :)
That is one super long labor! My first labor was 40 hours and I’d never heard anyone say there’s was more than that. Glad it ended well!❤❤❤
Girl I had a super long labor too! 4 1/2 days. I ended up with an emergency c-section because baby's heart rate dropped from 187 to 87.
Our family's 4th baby was also born very quickly, and it is so scary. Sending you all love. ❤
Congrats!!!
I just got back from my first appointment confirming our third pregnancy, and this video is the first thing I see.
Congrats to you!
Congrats from one dad to another! You have a beautiful family. Welcome to the world Kelso.
Beautiful! Thankful that God in His grace put that thought into your mind. Way to go Taylor! God is good!
