I’m familiar with swimming. When boys and girls are 12, the differences in swimming times are very minimal, and some girls are faster than boys. But by the time boys are 13, their times start getting faster than girls by a lot; and a lot of good 14 year old boys could swim competitively at the highest level of women’s NCAA swimming. So to suggest that a 21 year old guy could do all the “transition” stuff and then swim fairly against biological women is absurd. And saying this doesn’t make me a transphobe.
What these people don’t want to acknowledge and outright lie about is that puberty had already done its job. No amount of hormone therapy is going to reverse increased lung capacity, bone density, height and strength. Lia Thomas and other “athletes” like them know full well they have a massive advantage, it is why they want to compete against women because they know they can win due to that advantage and why they don’t compete against men because they wouldn’t even place.

My high school daughters had to compete against a trans runner who qualified for the California state track meet and took the place of a biological female. Paula and her contemporaries are saving women's sports and carrying the torch for all the young girls and women coming up behind them. Thank you for your bravery!

Sharon Davis is very vocal about it, she’s the only swimmer I’ve heard speak up though I assume there are more that have just been silenced. There’s some female cyclists also that have opposed to men in woman’s sports. I think they’re afraid of having the J K Rowling treatment. They banned Caster Semenya who is female (she has higher levels of testosterone) and allow men 🤯
This story is so creepy. They just got the girls on the team off guard and just forced them to share a locker room. Even though normally it would never ever be allowed. Women’s rights include privacy!!!

It is so sad that these young women had to deal with this stress. Being an athlete, while also dealing with the academic rigors of college, is tough enough, without this added stress. Kaitlin Jenner says that anyone who went through puberty as a male, the way that she herself did, has no business competing in women's sports, period. Males have a permanent cardiovascular advantage, and a permanent skeletal and muscular advantage, if they experienced male puberty. No amount of switching to female hormones later in life, changes that.
Martina Navritalova did a similar interview with Kara Swisher. Martina made same statements as Caitlin, and had troubling stats pointing to damage being done to women's sports.

Horrible what happened to Paula and her team mates. Those responsible at the swimming body and at her college should be held to account. To create an atmosphere of fear and turn team mates against each other was despicable. Multiple people have actually complained but they have no ability to change the rules. People were literally protesting at the same event that Lia won.
Women are naturally more agreeable and risk-averse, so more women need to group together and fight this madness as a large group, and the men need to speak up with them. This is bigger than just sports. It affects everyone- bathroom use, fitting room use- there are some stores that have a big open space fitting room par sex. I first saw it at the store, that used to be called Lohmans. Also- there was a transgender woman (originally a man), who came on to one of the Korean spas last year. Mind you- it is the place where everyone is naked and women bring little kids with them to the spa. Everyone there was freaked out. But they where see as something was wrong with them.

I have NO idea how Riley found the courage to stand up and make this a full-blown public debate about this situation!! Personally, I can't wrap my head around the issue of "transgenderism." Yes, I realize that's probably not the right word. But having a biological MAN on your swim team and sharing your locker room is not right either! My 12yo daughter is a swimmer and we pulled her out because of this issue. I don’t want her (or me) to have to deal with it. We’re looking for another sport.
Yet another inspiring story for our young boys that they can really be whatever they want to be. We can tell them that if they want to be an astronaut, president, actor -- and even the best female sports athlete, the system will support them. You cannot tell this to your daughters though. They can only be whatever they want to be (best female athlete, miss universe, etc.) as long as a man doesn't want it too.
What an intelligent and brave woman. I love that her family supports her and is close with her. I’m also dyslexic (and I have ADHD) and used to play tons of sports growing up, including swimming. It really did benefit me mentally too. I am so glad she spoke up against this. She’s right, it’s not right or fair. It’s not “transphobic” because it has nothing to do with Lia being trans but has to do with him being MALE! Women’s sports are for biological females not males who wish they were female. Do whatever you’d like with your body but your rights do not outweigh everybody else’s rights. Women deserve to have locker rooms, bathrooms, teams, scholarships, and titles that belong to them and them alone.

I’m familiar with swimming. When boys and girls are 12, the differences in swimming times are very minimal, and some girls are faster than boys. But by the time boys are 13, their times start getting faster than girls by a lot; and a lot of good 14 year old boys could swim competitively at the highest level of women’s NCAA swimming. So to suggest that a 21 year old guy could do all the “transition” stuff and then swim fairly against biological women is absurd. And saying this doesn’t make me a transphobe.
What these people don’t want to acknowledge and outright lie about is that puberty had already done its job. No amount of hormone therapy is going to reverse increased lung capacity, bone density, height and strength. Lia Thomas and other “athletes” like them know full well they have a massive advantage, it is why they want to compete against women because they know they can win due to that advantage and why they don’t compete against men because they wouldn’t even place.

My high school daughters had to compete against a trans runner who qualified for the California state track meet and took the place of a biological female. It is so sad that these young women had to deal with this stress. Being an athlete, while also dealing with the academic rigors of college, is tough enough, without this added stress. Kaitlin Jenner says that anyone who went through puberty as a male, the way that she herself did, has no business competing in women's sports, period. Males have a permanent cardiovascular advantage, and a permanent skeletal and muscular advantage, if they experienced male puberty. No amount of switching to female hormones later in life, changes that.

Martina Navritalova did a similar interview with Kara Swisher. Martina made same statements as Caitlin, and had troubling stats pointing to damage being done to women's sports.

This is bigger than just sports. It affects everyone- bathroom use, fitting room use- there are some stores that have a big open space fitting room par sex. I first saw it at the store, that used to be called Lohmans.

Really great interview. The only thing is that I wish that you had spent more time on the Psy-ops portion. How did the Psychologists at UPenn try to convince her that it was a good thing? What phrases did they use on her, if any? Glad she's speaking up. Men need to speak up against this, too.
And the men’s sports not effected at all. When will women be free of having to always fight for their space and rights?

I have NO idea how Riley found the courage to stand up and make this a full-blown public debate about this situation!! Personally, I can't wrap my head around the issue of "transgenderism." Yes, I realize that's probably not the right word. But having a biological MAN on your swim team and sharing your locker room is not right either! I'm grateful I've never once thought I somehow was put into the "wrong" body at birth. Life itself is quite challenging without struggling with that issue! Thanks, Riley, for opening up and having the courage to share this experience and how it impacted you.

It is easier said than done. If you are bullied by your school system. And you have a scholarship on stake.
If there are no competitors to swim against there isnt a event to win. Maybe the schools need to provide mental counseling for the trans.

My 12yo daughter is a swimmer and we pulled her out because of this issue. I don’t want her (or me) to have to deal with it. We’re looking for another sport.

Yet another inspiring story for our young boys that they can really be whatever they want to be. We can tell them that if they want to be an astronaut, president, actor -- and even the best female sports athlete, the system will support them. You cannot tell this to your daughters though. They can only be whatever they want to be (best female athlete, miss universe, etc.) as long as a man doesn't want it too.

What an intelligent and brave woman. I love that her family supports her and is close with her. I’m also dyslexic (and I have ADHD) and used to play tons of sports growing up, including swimming. It really did benefit me mentally too. I am so glad she spoke up against this. She’s right, it’s not right or fair. It’s not “transphobic” because it has nothing to do with Lia being trans but has to do with him being MALE! Women’s sports are for biological females not males who wish they were female. Do whatever you’d like with your body but your rights do not outweigh everybody else’s rights. Women deserve to have locker rooms, bathrooms, teams, scholarships, and titles that belong to them and them alone.

I like that these girls are willing to speak out. The transphobic label you get auto assigned and even begin to believe about yourself is so wrong. This is not about being against someone’s right to chose what gender identity fits for themselves. This is about fairness in competition for sports. That’s all it is about

My wife has a friend that is trans and I feel 100% it is wrong he uses the girls bathroom he likes men and woman. I do not think men with mental health issues should use the girls bathroom for safety for young girls and older woman
