- Hank Williams, Jr. hosted a press conference in Cullman, Alabama, on May 10, 2011, after devastating tornadoes hit the city in late April. Williams was touring the state in preparation for a benefit telethon to air on CMT on May 12, 2011.
Losing my brothers to lightning in a fishing incident in 2008 he wrote my Mom the most touching story he hugged me in a tackle store one year later when I introduced myself and thanked him he advocates weather conditions and truly cares. Thank you Hank❤
I use to go to Hanks Montana Exchange in Cullman when I was young, my dad took me there from our hometown of Blountsville Al u could get free T shirts
Hank is a REALLY NICE man. I got his autograph TWICE here in NJ...
in '73, when he was famous but not a SUPERSTAR yet...and...
later, around 1980, after he had become 'the man' in country music!
He was VERY NICE to me BOTH times!
REALLY like him! SUPER guy!
I am black.
AWSOME
That's so cool! You met him twice! I think it's pretty awesome that you're a fan of Hank Jr too. I don't know many black folks who even like country music, let alone Hank Jr. I think having an open mind is a beautiful thing.
What does being black have to do with it?
More importantly, you’re an American citizen with Red blood.
That's how it's done in the South people. We don't sit on our hands and whine about the government helping us and depend on government help. We jump in and help our neighbors out. Special thanks to Bocephus for jumping right in on this and calling in all those favors. God bless you bud.
He’s giving back 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I'm
He’s got a huge heart
I’m from NJ God bless Alabama 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Hank a legend 🇺🇸🇺🇸and a patriot
the girl reporter was right about the house in Vinemont. You turn off 31 and go behind the skating rink and he lived off a gravel county road. His gate with musical notes is still there. He lived here at the time he was visiting his place in Montana when he wrote Country Boy Can Survive. He was writing about his place in Vinemont he bought after he sold his A Frame on Lake Catoma.
God Bless Sweet home Alabama, and this Hero
Hank Williams Jr's Daddy would be very proud of him. This is how his Daddy would want him to be, without having known either one. He has a heart for others. From A Nashville Girl (MUSIC CITY USA PROUD!)

A true Good 'Ol Boy! See a good 'ol boy never forgets where he hailed from! He lifts folks up when he can. "Home" is a bittersweet word. And its a prideful thing for him to ask for help, but ya'll are neighbors. So he figures he can reach out! Please don't forget us! Come help!
A Blessed man !!!!
I wonder how much the telethon raised to help Alabama. Anyone know?
Hanks a good man.
This was a total destruction and this was a very touching story how so many people worked together and brought help!
So by the looks of this video it was 11 years ago... Hank said it'd take a decade for it to come back. Anyone in Tuscaloosa wanna give an update? Are yall back yet?

And it's racist too.
@@rodjohnson3045 That word has no more meaning,so go f..k yourself!!
A good man god bless him
He sounds a lot like his father how he speaks. No question about that
Nashville was overlooked by Washington in their bad flood and so was Mississippi, Alabama and Lousiana in this tornado outbreak. Wrong part of the country for obama to get involved with I guess.
Hank is awesome!!!!!!!!!
All the good that you do and your not in the country hall of fame it's a shame your heart is 100% I always wish you and family the best
In case you didn't hear he has FINALLY been inducted to the Hall of Fame!
So.. I'm trying to figure this out - Hank was born in Shreveport La., but somehow made his home in Cullman Al, Tennessee and then some? And likes jumbalaya and Cajun food? I'm confused 🙂. How'd he get from jumbalaya to Cullman?
he was born in LA, his grandfather lived in Alabama, hank has several home, one on kentucky lake in henry county tennessee, one in montana.
@@tncountryboy06 Thanks for the feedback. So, correct me if I'm mistaken, jumbalaya is a Louisiana thing, right? Not Alabama? Different food culture down there. I passed through parts of it years ago in pursuit of bluegrass music. Love good BBQ, but chitlins are a little over my head 🙂
You may not know me but I do know that you had a great man that had played in your band for a long time before he had getting a divorce and he had to go his name is Joe Hamilton his grandmother was my mother's baby sister who was me i just love you hank Jr and I love your music you are the greatest of all if you ever see this love you hank keep up the good music
You ever hear about the legendary country singer/songwriter Hank Williams senior, He was Hank jr's dad and was born and raised just south of Montgomery Alabama. He and HANK JR'S MOTHER are buried in Montgomery! Hank JR has deep roots in Alabama!
Just found out that the telethon will air again Sunday, May 15, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. Central Time! As he said the lines will stay open for months. Ya'll come!
Hank for President in 2020 !!!!! Hank your the man !!! You and Hank 3 are your own legends ! Love to you Hank !!!!

Sherry - last time I checked, Hank lives in Montana anyway...lol...
(He has active cattle ranch out there, so probably isn't leavin' anytime soon either.)
Many CLOWNS in this world...
Hank if i may at this time take a moment to look at Dr Claudia Albers this is 2019 March be cautious of planes!
Right here in this footage, if Hank Jr would've been standing 30 feet away from the camera, he looked almost identical to my dad. My dad was several years older than Hank. The body build, shape of his face, those sunglasses, hair color, beard & all........exactly the same. Hank's nose is a tad broader & shorter than dad's was. That's why I say "at 30 feet away"........lol. Of course they would look more different without the shades, and due to old injuries/scars, Hank always wears those shades in public.
what is causing this crazy stuff? A tornado on the ground for a hundred miles. Come on Hank! I love you man.question this for us. we have no power
if i was that kid in the background ida been fliping out that im in the same room with hank williams jr!!!!!!!! and not lookin like o my god stop tatlikg and go away !!!!!!
Bocephus!
Who cares he will lie to you
Of all the people I love, he's got to be the least likeable lol. What an ego.
Dose he chew? Sure sound like he's got a chaw in his mouth.
