Is that reduction of image quality near edges on Maven S2 12-27x56 spotting scope when using maximum magnification happening also when looking with your eyes or it's just due to optical limitations of the used camera?

That’s a great question! It’s not as bad with your own eye for sure but some edge to edge clarity loss. With my phone I’m using iPhone 13 HD 60 so the quality is downgraded. It’s an impressive spotter no doubt. I still lean towards a full size spotter and in general don’t like using any spotter at max magnification as you lose eye relief and some clarity. I’ve never looked through one but if you were looking into compact spotters the Kowa 554 is another one to consider. Hope this helps! -Kyle
