This river is one of the most frustrating places to fish. I’ve got 43cm bream, 78cm flatty and shitload of monster perch and whiting. Some days can’t get a touch and other days it’s not stop for an hour it’s insane. Definitely some monsters in there though just all about timing
Brett, I have to agree with you there after this session I didn't think this video was going to even happen. The place is nice though, it's got a different feel to it. Hopefully I can come across some of those fish in future sessions!

@@ShroomFishing stop wait for it lol every one in north thinks the frogs are good for top water jacks well last 3 weeks before i did my knee i pulled 2 500mm jacks and a 600mm on top of tide in a space of 45min. but here is the kicker i got fish on the POWER POP FROG THEY HAVE BEEN OUT FOR AROUND 5 YEARS. WORK THAT OUT AND THEY LOOK NOTHING LIKE A FROG LOL.

I live on the Georges and fish it every day (plastics and hbs), and the past month has been soul destroying in terms of outcome. Before Xmas I would land 3-4 fish every session but atm I am going weeks without even a bite. Something has shut them down.

Shroom are you left or right-handed? I noticed that in different videos you reel with your left and right hand. Is this something you just switch up, or is there a strategy behind it?
Graham, I fish and cast both hands so that’s why sometimes it might switch mid-video. It might be mental but if things aren’t happening I try to switch it a bit to see if slight changes makes a difference. Also it changes the side I can work the lure if I’m working it to the side and with various wind directions I think it makes a difference

Do you put much consideration into the barometer shroom? Or just hit it when you have the opportunity? I've tried to hit peak periods for the last 10 years given the chance and can confirm it matters, certainly isn't a rule of thumb though because it's fishing after all lol

Hey bro, I am local there haven't had much success there.. it's literally snag after snag with all the rubbish and tree and sticks in the water, I made the mistake of flicking some lures there, def go with the soft plastics better value for money lol 🤣🤣

I get some, as far as I’m concerned, great paddle tails, from a local Mid North Coast market stall. They are a Chinese made soft plastics manufacturer called Glugg. Woppa Paddle Tails. Also do a few different soft plassies like grubs etc..Got meself a Flatties on one, and we’re talking a paddle tail of only 2.5”. Flattie went 94cm. Was a total weapon of a fish. Before I got that fish, wife kept saying, they’re crap lures why do you bother using them? Changed her mind somewhat now…Ha!!
Only do a small range of colours, but I reckon bang on, colours they do have. If I were a Flattie I’d eat them.
Love the vids Shroom, but seriously get away from the three headed fish of the Cooks River and up Parra, man try some more pristine locations. If it has to be Sydney, try the East. E.G. North side and actually Southern end too of Spit Bridge. Here land based, you can score some tanks of Bream family there. Honestly trust me, such a nice place to fish. And you don’t get those fish leaking nuclear waste.
