      @MACARENA Sebastián Gaete No problem! Fun fact: Phil Collins was originally chosen to do the music for the Lion King, but he turned down the offer because he was busy. Phil Collins did the music for Tarzan and Brother Bear.

      The MUSIC was COMPOSED by Hans Zimmer, written by Elton John and Tim Rice. Hans Zimmer won for the soundtrack at the Oscars, not Elton John.

      @@radicalreactions1633 Hans Zimmer did the score. When I said the music, I meant the vocal tracks. Sorry. I guess I wasn't very specific. I know a lot about The Lion King, so, don't worry, I am aware of Hans Zimmer. But Elton John did compose the vocal tracks with lyrics written by Tim Rice. Elton John won the Oscar for "Can You Feel The Love Tonight".

    In the Broadway version, we see what led up to Nala leaving to find help, and the final straw was basically Scar coming on to her, and it's REALLY uncomfortable. I believe on the Soundtrack, it's called "The Madness of King Scar."

    The Lion King and The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride are my all time favorite Disney Movies! Can You Maybe React To The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride Too Please??!!!     The ravine scene when the wildebeest stampede is only roughly 2 and a half minutes long but it took them nearly 3 years to animate it 😩

    If I remember correctly a lot of producers left to do Pocahontas because they thought that was going to be the breakout Disney movie and the two guys that did produce this movie it was their first time ever doing one

    My goto comfort movies as a kid was The Aristocats and the lion king. When the lion king first came out in theaters in 1994 , I was in my moms tummy, my big brother was 4 and he was lucky to have seen it when it first came out. I grew up my whole life with that VHS over and over rewinding it lol

    I watched this movie as a kid so much I wore out 2 VHS tapes. Not only could I quote the movie beat for beat (including sound effects), but my mom also could because she was forced to see it so much

    Finally got to see the Broadway tour few years ago & instead of "It's A Small World" Zazu started singing "Let It Go" 🤣🤌💋
    ( Also the hyenas have overhunted the pridelands, so Nala & the others have to search further. And yes, _Hamlet_ )

    This is and always will be my all time favorite Disney movie, this movie means so much to me, I watched it every single day when I was little, I grew up with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis, so whenever I was having a bad day ( which was just about every day) I would watch this movie and it always would make me feel better, ( except for when I cried when Mufasa died.)
    And yes, you are right, I have always wanted just to go up and give Mufasa a hug, I even drew a picture of me doing that. 😁

    It’s the movie that saved Disney animated films after one of their biggest bombs (The Black Cauldron), and made films like The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin possible!

    My sister is the biggest Fan of this movie, Every time we’re at the zoo She like “Simba, Pumba, Timon” when she rolls past Lions, Warthogs, and Meerkats. Respectively. 0:34 1994. She named our cat “Nala” This was the first film me and my sister saw in the theater. Cause, Rerelease. 1:54 Yeah.❤ 4:59 2-4 months. Or like 1-2 months. 11:18 5 years. Simba is a full grown Lion at 5 years.

    Little fact for ya: In “Be Prepared” after the line “you won’t get a sniff without me” Jeremy irons (the VA for scar) isn’t singing. his voice broke when he said that line. So the guy who sung the rest of the song, was Winnie the Pooh

    well, actually nala was there in the forest cause there's a deleted scene of scar singing for nala that he needs a queen so he can have a sucessor when he die, so he was singing trying to "seduce" her, but actually he was practically forcing her to have a child with him (this song is on youtube and actually it still is in the musical), so obviously she refuse and he exiled her from the kingdom, so she ended up going to the forest.

    You can notice so many parallels when you realize that this movie is based off of Hamlet, if you know the play lol (I only read it in high school and I relied heavily on sparknotes to pass that class 😅 but I love how I never made the connection with Zazu holding the skull up until I was grown lol) but everyone knows the story of Romeo and Juliet and that’s what The Lion King 2 is based on

    It was 1994, but yeah, this was a fantastic movie. The Lion King is one of Disney's best movies. also this was Elton John who worked on the soundtrack, Phil Collins did the Tarzan soundtrack.

    Great commentary, my only qualm is that the part where Rafiki trolls Simba with the Asante sana squash banana song wasn't included... idk I just find that moment hilarious 🤷‍♀️, ik it isn't as iconic, so I can see why it was cut.
