I think we’ll get to see the *actual* version of the Wheeler murder w/ Danvers & Navarro and it’ll be shown to mirror the Annie K murder carried out by Hank & Peter. Both are polar opposites to one another, yet they are the same in the end. That’s why Peter was so interested to know what happened in the Wheeler case. He shot Hank in the head before Hank could reveal that yes, whilst he was the one who *moved* Annie K’s body, it was Peter that was responsible for killing her.

  • @carlosgonzocastillo7784

To reinforce the theory about Peter Prior hiding something:
In Episode 2, while talking with Leah at the Ice rink in front of the corpsicle, Peter says something like "he who is raised by beasts becomes a beast", revealing as a game his evilness; later in episode 5, when Peter shoots Hank, he says before dying (note that Peter could have shot any part of the body but preferred to do it in the head to play it safe) Hank revealed to Danvers that he did not kill Annie K, he only moved her body, and then looked accusingly at his son while telling him "blood is blood" to tell him between lines that his hands (Peter's) are also covered in blood, in addition to asking without saying it that his son must be the one to kill him (avoiding suicide) for being family and to release him from being an accomplice and accessory to something very bad, (murder¿?). Note that Hank didn't even have his finger on the trigger when aiming to Danvers 😢. In that same episode Danvers inferred that Hank hacked Peter's laptop password to find out the truth about Wheeler's death, but there was no proof of this, Peter let Danvers believe it without confirming what his password is.

      @@mattgilbert7347 That's a very very acurate and científic explanation, thanks; I also read that some instructors at police academies indicate that the shot should be at center mass because it’s a much bigger target and easier to hit. But I can't stop sensing some kind urge in peter's behave;
but we're about to find out what was going on in Peter's head considering we already know what went through Hank's lol 😆

      @@carlosgonzocastillo7784 thank you!
Yeah officers are trained to aim at the centre mass area of the torso, usually in a 4-position grouping.
However, at close range with the target having raised his weapon to aim at the neck-head area, if you already have a bead on his cranium, and you believe they will take the shot, then an immediate devastating shot to the head is allowed and trained for.
There's also the "two in the chest one in the head" method as seen in the film "Collateral". It has a name, I can't recall - "Mogadishu grouping" or something like that. If Peter was out to kill Hank as soon and as quickly as possible, without provocation, that's probably what he'd have done. Either that or 4 in the centre mass then a headshot to finish.
The fact Hank's finger wasn't ON the trigger wasn't really reason enough to hesitate. If he'd just been put down but not killed, he could have still made a shot or two at Danvers before he lost his strength

Overall very underwhelming ending due to the following reasons:
    1. Annie, the midwife, with no formal scientific education, figuring out the top scientistic project details based on some documents.
    2. She destroys years of research as if those scientific and valuable documents are not electronically saved on hard drive, cloud or some other digital format !!!!
    3. She gets murdered by a group of top world class scientists with PHDs in their fields like they are professional killers.
    4. A cleaning lady spills water exactly by the underground hatch opening and gets her other cleaning ladies involved and somehow they put the whole murder case together like professional detectives.
    5. The cleaning ladies outsmart the scientists, and this expensive lab that’s owned by powerful and ultra wealthy Tuttle family, does not have one armed security guard!
    6. The entire world and millions of cancer patients did not get to use this incredible medical breakthrough drug because of some small town in middle of nowhere wanted to have clean water. Move those hundred people to a new town maybe?
    7. The overall story arch was very man hating. All the heroes were women and all the evil doers were men. A feminist extravaganza!
    8. What was the deal with the polar bear? Was there a spirit involved? The show did not explain half the weird stuff. This was very much like the show “Lost” where the creators did not explain anything and left us fuming at the end.

I still am trying to figure out the meaning of the polar bear and Annie K both missing their left eyes. The polar bear has a star shaped wound to its eye the same as Annie’s wounds. Similar to the shape both tsalal and the mines logo. Also similar in shape to spikes on the snow shoes we’ve seen. I also think more is going on with Pete. Could he be one of the people Annie K slept with? As Hank said she was sleeping with half of Ennis. Maybe he ties I to the mystery through that factor, not necessarily killing her. Also think Navarro will be pregnant at the end. Flashback to ep 1 with Qaavick and the intimate encounter. Maybe they are hospitalized after Liz is pulled from the ice and that’s a reveal. Thanks for the content. Very thought provoking and thorough!

Great discussion. I appreciate your video's this season. I had been concerned about Navarro's mental health since she heard Rose say in episode two "don't mistake the spiritual world for mental health issues but i think she is almost to obvious a suspect. The comments about Peter are interesting and I think that you are right that there is something that we are yet to learn about him. There are so many loose ends, I don't expect that they will neatly tie everything up. They did not in season one and Rust had to tell Marty that they had to take what they could get but I do home they clear up the Navarro and Annie K link to the scientist. I expect that most of the explanations will be of a human natural origin and their could be several people linked to the Annie K and research scientist deaths.

my crazy predictions: Annie K and Navarro were dating at some point, Clark kills Annie K in a rage for it or that she is going public about the mines and using him. Hank is told by Kate to move Annie's body from the mine property. Blair and Bee create a scenario at the station that pushes the scientists out into the storm so they are responsible for those deaths. Oliver assists them cutting the power, etc. Navarro kills wheeler. Connelly gets elected and Kate is really a Tuttle and is Peter's mom. Rose says to Navarro in an earlier episode to not confuse the spirit world with mental illness. She was talking TO Navarro, not about Navarro's sister. Liz falls in the ice, Navarro saves her but passes away, going into the sea. Liz and Leah leave the town. Peter becomes chief.

    THEORY TIME
I’m not sure who the killer is, but what if the reason Annie k was killed was because she stumbled across the source of the polluted water, which turns out to be bodies of missing persons who were murdered as part of possible cult/tuttle connections? Think about it, they are trying to tie this season to season 1 with multiple references to Tuttles and the spiral etc. what if there is an unknown cult presence in Ennis whether they are active or not, that stored bodies in the ice caves? It would be the perfect place to store bodies for a cult. And Annie may have stumbled upon accidentally due to her environmental activism?

@@LM20237 I was thinking maybe they were in the groundwater somehow. But that is a fair point. Because I don’t know how that’d work in the ice. Navarro shot Wheeler. I say this after Liz's behavior after Peter shot his dad.
Kate McCittrick is not Peter's mom. She tells us as much at the skating ring when talking with Hank.
I will be disappointed if Navarro is Annie K's killer. She has defended women - I don't see her killing women.
I think Hank killed Peter's mom and Peter suspects it or witnessed something about his mom's disappearance that makes him distrust his father.

I think she IS trying to solve the scientist's case, and the tongue being left at the scene was a message to Danvers. WHY ELSE WOULD IT BE THERE??? I CANT GET PAST WTF HER TONGUE WHICH WAS MISSING IS DOING AT THE LAB. Ahem. Yes. So, I see a finale of Navarro VS. Danvers in a way. Navarro defeats her demons, kills Danvers, solves both cases, adopts Leah, bangs Koc... Bar Guy. The End. lmao

Not much of a theory but I looked into the names of the characters because of Hank and Peter’s last name being prior and I found some interesting correlations. The main character of the play Angels in America is named prior who is a prophet with HIV who has an angel appear and gives him information about the future. It’s interesting because Peter Prior always knows information pretty much instantaneously and Hank Prior is always talking about blood which is correlated to HIV. The name Peter also means “a rock” compared to the name Hank which is home ruler, and it reminds me of the quote “people who live in glass homes shouldn’t throw stones”. We all know Hank has baggage and is taking chances left and right very much like what the quote is saying not to do. Peter was also the name of one of the first two of Jesus’ apostles and also eventually the leader. The name Darwin also is a reference to the scientist Charles Darwin who wrote the book “The Origin of Species” which is correlated to the research being done at Tsalal. The name Evangeline means “good news” and it’s interesting because it sounds like evangelical and her and Danvers talk about religion quite often and Evangeline always sees the dead and maybe the finger means she is going to bring the “good news” of who killed Annie. Julia in the Bible is the name for Gods resting of the weary which correlates to her being tired of life and killing herself last episode. The name Elizabeth is very fitting for Liz because she is obviously know as the queen of England which fits with her being the police chief and it is the name of John the Baptists mother in the Bible, and John is believed to have baptized Jesus. It seems like these names were very specifically chosen and all have religious ties whether in referring to certain biblical implications or just talk about God in general. I think it also shows that in some aspect an occult presence is in the show especially since everything feels so intentional. I also think that Evangeline has complex PTSD (I have it and I noticed her symptoms quickly) based on the way she tries to “process” her emotions, and the way she interacts with the people she is supposed to have relationships with. She talks a lot about being alone/feeling alone which is another symptom. The way her flashbacks are filmed and shown also mimics the way a person with complex PTSD can be triggered causing them to truly feel like they are back at the traumatic experience again. Also in season one Rust Cohle talks about how he can “see dead people” but also counteracts that with blaming it on his days when he was an informant and doing drugs, so seeing that concept fleshed out into this season with the question of it being either supernatural or completely scientific and logical is very nice and a good call back! It’s also interesting that his Dad Travis is the person who is mimicking the drowning to Rose in episode one so I’m curious if they will bring him back again or if we only get to see him once.

The whole thing with the reindeer running off the cliff in fright parallels the Dytalov incident in which extreme athlete skiers in the back country of Russia died under mysterious circumstances. The interesting thing about the theories about what happened to those skiers is the last entry in one of the skiers diary states “the Yeti exists.”
There was also a photo that could be a Yeti in a camera found at the site months later. All had similar injuries to these scientists in Ennis. All had frozen to death but a few had brutal crushing fatal injuries. Eyes missing, tongue missing. Frightened expressions. So whatever is in the ice caves, it’s going to maybe be something that follows along those lines. Were the scientists awakening some ancient beast? Did they find a way to regenerate life? I’m thinking maybe it’s going to be in line with the Dytalov incident in Russia. One theory is sound waves cause extreme fright and hallucinations. Another is a large mammal scared them out of their tents without shoes and warm clothing. Another is local tribes. And then there’s the Yeti. Aliens also mentioned but I think not. Could be a polar plunge killed the scientists in Ennis and a real
Polar bear frightened them to death. Something was running in the lab by the delivery guy: was it human? Or an animal? It’s been an interesting puzzle.

Maybe there is a hidden entrance to the ice tunnels from the station and Danvers will find it. That's how Clark has eluded them. The episode 1 scene where they couldn't find how to open the entertainment center was probably a hint. I think Pete turns himself in after cleaning up and he uses the mom lawyer from episode 1 to work out the deal so Danvers doesnt get involved, the jail scene with Leah makes it look like Pete is already in jail and is probably foreshadowing his ending. His son is named Darwin and probably hinting at the evelotion and how Pete will try to break the cycle and not go along with the cover up plan. I bet a group of people in the town teamed up to kill the scientists. Rose was probably involved and why we see her gutting a wolf and why Navarro, Pete and Rose have been connected in many scenes. They all killed a wolf. Navvaro killed Wheeler most likely. The bad water is probably effecting those with ptsd more than others and causing flashbacks and hallucinations. The ice cores B 231-239 look like they were missing in episode1 when Danvers taps on the ice cores the core numbers jump from B230 to B240. Clark probably has the ice cores hidden in the Night Country since the cores would connect the mines long history of pollution and the water issues and be the evidence they need to shut down the mines 🤷‍♂️

As far Peter possibly being the one who killed Annie, just before he shot his dad we get a confession from Hank "All I did was move her body". Hank was looking at Liz not Peter when he said this so he was telling her not Peter who already would have already knew that Hank only moved Annie's body after Peter had killed her.
So by shooting him, Peter made sure Hank couldn't say anymore about Annie's death. Luckily for Peter, Hank was pointing his gun Starling's way, but that does not mean he was going to shoot her. Now why would Peter have shot Annie? Who knows maybe they were lovers, maybe Annie had some dirt on Peter and was going to tell others about it, etc.

As silly as this may look/seem, I haven't seen anyone chatting about why Clark was shaking before he says, "she's awake". I think Clark was a wearing an electronic warning device whenever their subject wakes up in the caves. Maybe the electronic device also short circuits the facility to warn the other scientists (that is why Annie K's video short circuits as well)?
Maybe their subject or subjects are women that are kidnapped, just like those that were kidnapped in season 1 (this may be how they are trying to tie season 1 with season 4 with the carcosa sprials and how the Tuttles are funding the facility).
Anyways, we'll find out tomorrow. Thanks for the videos.

I think Peter's good boy, over diligent cop act is an act either to misdirect or due to guilt. Either way, the season has boxed itself in to the point it almost has to pull off a major shock/twist (such as Peter being involved in Annie K's murder) in order to tie off all the loose ends it's casted off into the audience. I've enjoyed it nonetheless, the performances have been spectacular.

In season 1, the Tuttles were able to cover up murders because there were never any corpses. It was always only "missing persons", (save for those saved in the woods when the assailants were killed by Rust and Marty). This is significantly different from discovering five dead scientists and brushing it off as an avalanche. If there were any signs of foul play, it couldn't be covered up. So, the question is not "who killed them", but rather, "why were they naked with folded up clothing" before the avalanche took them. Of course, if the writing ends up being shabby, anything is possible. The cave likely leads directly to the Tsalal building and may even be where ice cores were being sampled. Again regarding the scientists, these guys are credentialed academics and to think they traveled all the way to Alaska just to cover up for a mine is far fetched, so there's a lot to unpack with them that I have a hard time seeing to fruition in one episode with so much to unravel. The writing will need to be stellar. My original fear about this series was that this is another Lost with the truth being that this whole environment is simply some kind of hell - seeing as everyone appears to have something awful in their past, and they keep re-living things over and over. We shall see... look up "Tsalal" in the context of Edgar Allan Poe's "The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket". Even Annie K. was labeled "murder", even though it remains unsolved.

@@MovieFiles - If the scientists were murdered, then cause of death is actively being covered up by the Anchorage Police (which I assume is essentially the Alaska State Police). Now, once can say that in season 1 there was also a cover up, but there werre no bodies only missing persons. I don't think that even in Louisiana they could have covered up things if bodies were discovered - maybe diverted blame, but not claim that foul play had not occurred. This is where season 4 is on possibly shaky ground.

Second to the blue code or wall of silence among police officers to the misdeeds of their colleagues, which creates a “blood bond” of sorts. My question is, did he choose the lesser evil?!?

I don’t see how they can finalize everything in just one more episode. Unless it is 1-1/2 to 2 hours long. It seems like 6 episodes is too short especially for a show like this. Shows that do 6 episodes tend to rush through storylines & there isn’t enough time to flush out the characters storylines.

I think Pete is one of the best and most normal of all the characters. I haven’t gotten a bad feeling from Pete at all. Pete is working OT on two of the biggest murder cases in Ennis history and his wife kicks him out, which totally sucks like give the guy a break for a couple weeks while they work on the case. Leah was also giving him a hard time about not being a good fun loving husband even tho he is working hard on some brutal murders. Leah needs to chill on ripping my guy Peter. He also had to stay in the cold shack in Liz’s backyard which considering he has done a lot of work on the case is a really tough break then. Then he had to kill his Dad to save Danvers. Peter is the good guy. I’d be shocked and mad if they made him a bad guy which I’m pretty sure they will not do.

I think there’s a parallel thing going on. Scientists were locked in a freezer together and froze to death together which explains the agonizing and twisted fate they faced. Then moved to outdoors where they’ll be found. Folded clothes put there by the perpetrators to scare everyone.
