    Have been working on making this room into my craft room.. Is an old farm house was born in 1865.. So that means I love this house buttt it has a lot of quirks, like small rooms and NO closets lol, Is a host of good problems. I gave my living room furniture to Marianne, and little by little I am getting this done. lol My office chair Mike put together for me, and the small kitchen table is coming in here to join the office chair.. I have always wanted a room with all handmade things in it. including the drapes and rugs.. this pattern is going to work in here beautifully... Thank You for sharing this pattern...

    Hi Everyone! I have tweaked the stitch counts for Row 9 (51 sts), Row 10 (58 sts) and Row 11 (65 sts) - just dc in any remaining sts at the end of the row after you've finished your last complete set. When working Row 12, you only have 1 big gap at the beginning of the row, the rest of it works out neatly :)

But at the minute just stuck with the polyester yarn I found, not brought any cotton yarn off Amazon or anywhere else off the internet. I am just writing your half circle pattern down now. ?????? can't decide what colour to do?????? I might make it again like your circle rug in pink & white???? then I have both in the same colour, ha ha! 😁 Erica x

      Hi Brenda, yes! You could use nylon, cotton, wool or blends (these are stronger yarns and can take being walked on). You can also use a single strand of a thicker yarn, if you can find it :)

    I've been crocheting for just 6 years and on my own so your videos are a huge help, your close ups and careful explanations are brilliant. Why though when you start the eyelet rows do you have to pretend that the first stitch isn't taken? I except it , but my brain needs details ha ha. Also I have some of those acrilic hooks but avoid using them because they are sticky and drive me mad. I was told they get worn in and yarn slips better over time, have yours?. X

      Hi Doreen! Thank you for watching :) Sometimes, just to make the math work, we skip some stitches or even use them twice! I have a few plastic hooks and I really like them for the bigger projects since they're light weight. I've been using Susan Boye hooks and I don't find them sticky at all. Smooth and cool. On occasion, the odd one has a little 'burr' at the tip which I've had to sand off prior to first use, but that's it!

      Hi Blair, acrylic yarn is great for blankets but not for rugs (if they're going to be walked on) because acrylic doesn't hold up as well as natural, stronger fibers. Having said that, if this is going to be mostly decorative and not stood upon or walked on much, then acrylic will be fine 😊

    hi Jayda i need your advice, i have 600 gram of acrylic thick yarn( i use 10mm hook) does this pattern fits the yarn i have, or do you have any other idea for a rug??? thank you

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  4 года назад +1

      Hi! 1 strand of that thick yarn might be fine (rather than using 2 strands like I did here). I used around 800 yards for this project, so if you're only using 1 strand, you will need around 400 to 450 yards (since the weight categories are different, 600 g of thick yarn may not go as far as 600 g of lighter weight yarn)

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  5 лет назад +2

      HI Carmen, due to the nature of this pattern, this is about as big as it will get before too much warping wants to happen. However you can always use 3 strands of yarn together with a 10,00 mm hook and it will get much bigger, you will need another third the yarn requirements however :)

    Hi Jayda :) I just love our area rug and the half circle rug. I made one of the whole circle rugs. I'm thinking I could make a bathroom rug ensemble. With a couple of tweaks to the half circle rug, I can make a contour rug for around the bottom of the toilet. Have you washed your rugs yet? How do they wash up? Thanks for the videos. Jackie

      The circle rug pattern is so pretty. I will probably make one or two more of those. Congrats on 100k!

      Hi Jackie! I used cotton, and I've used this cotton for other projects and it washes well. I've been using my circle rug as the bathroom rug for a few weeks now and it regularly gets wet and dries and is holding up very well. In fact, the repeated drying is making it lie nice and flat! Always follow the washing instructions on the labels of your yarn, however, to ensure the safest results!

    Hey Mrs. Jayda. It's me again...lol hope ur new year is starting wonderfully!! I have a quick question. I made the half circle rug, however, I need mine to be bigger. I measured my space wrong. 🤫 how do I make this bigger? I put the final scallop on it and then realized I need it bigger. Thank u ahead of time

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  2 года назад

      Hi! This half-circle pattern doesn't continue to size up without "warping". Your best option is to take off the scallop edge and add a couple of rows of solid double crochet (you'll have to wing it with the increases, the math doesn't matter too much as long as you keep the stitching even and flat 😊) then add the scallop back at the end, which you might have to cheat in here and there with the stitch counts, but that's ok...just aim to make things look even!

    I made the round rug and love it, so I am making this one too. I’m using different yarn though, and it’s so small! Can anyone help me with the calculations for adding a couple more repeats of the solid-eyelets? I’m trying hard but struggling to keep the bottom flat. I keep getting more a 3/4 circle than a half circle.

    • @JaydaInStitches

      Hi Wendy, you'll have to experiment if you're using different yarn and it seems small - there is no exact mathematical increase used in this pattern - so really, whatever works :)
