Maybe it's just me but gold just looks better on darker skinned people. So on you this looks spot on, while on me it would stick out like a sore thumb. So I chose rose gold. It was my holy grail for a while and I finally got it.

You are right. The watch is loud specially in yellow gold and with the baguette dial but you can pull it off, not sure I could. On another note, I wouldn’t replace Audemars Piguet as part of the trinity for any other brand. If anything, I would get rid of Vacheron if I had to but I wouldn’t do that either. I’d leave it as it is but AP more than deserves it’s place on the trinity.
Bought my DD40 thinking Id keep it for a little while before trading it at some point… now there is no way this leaves my collection. Everything is perfect about it, the style, the size, the proportion. It also shines like a disco ball. This watch checks so many boxes

First, I love all Rolex watches...and I love the look of a gold watch. Nonetheless, it's either stainless steal or white gold (stealth wealth) for me. The more casual life style in Texas is about something nice that can do it all. Work, play and date night. Also, if you don't treat me right, I will pay more to someone else that appreciates me...its about the personal connection.

Yes thats why according to mr Philipe Dufour : Rolex is king of sport watches and Lange king of dress watches. AP makes around 50k watches a year and 95% are Royal oaks. They make fragile so called Sport/dress watches. For me quality is reliability, durability, material and accuracy not only finishing. AP RO only have nice design, finishing with nice bracelet. But no good quality. I own 2 RO and don't wear them any more because to many problems! I Love A. Lange watches...the quality and finishing is much better than Patek and VC👍 great video

A year before I thought I would never be able to get any Rolex at retail now my AD is so nice to me and working on getting all the high in demand pieces that are hard if not impossible to get. I would say to anyone who is trying to get Rolex at retail don’t lose hope it is definitely possible to get at retail and not paying those crazy high grey market prices. Love your videos. Great pickup! I got the WG black baguette dial last month, really love it. By the way the DD box is large size (for precious metals), but the platinum comes with the XL box.

You are a well travelled person I wanted to ask do you think Rolex supplies to AD is more in certain countries more than others like I went to Dubai and they said date just would you be around 3 months while here in Australia they are like it might be a year or two as I don’t have any history with AD. I can tell you I wear my day date over my yellow gold sky dweller now. Never thought I would say that. I love it though. The bigger diamonds is what really does it for me. Keep up the good work.

Totally agree with you Ridah on both points. Firstly, the best yellow gold watch in the Rolex line up in my opinion is definitely the Day Date. The overall design of the watch just suits yellow gold the best. I am not that fussed if its 40mm or 41mm really. Secondly, A Lange should replace AP in the holy trinity. PP, VC and Lange have so much to offer in dress to sport design compared to AP. No doubt, the royal oak is a beautiful watch but there is only so many iterations of it you can do. Plus the offshore is so big and looks so dated and clumsy...it hasn't evolved.

Not sure which one you’d be able to pick up but even though the day-date is a cool watch it’s miles behind in my opinion from APs amazing design, class, movement, style, status and so on. There is just no comparison in my opinion. However, you should be able to get a day-date easier. APs are way tougher to get.
