Rolex is arguable the king of watches . There is absolutely no parallel. If Rolex wanted to make high horological watches they certainly have the resources and craftsmanship to enter this arena . Love their robust, practical and functional watches ,watches that serves a purpose and transcend generations

Maybe it's just me but gold just looks better on darker skinned people. So on you this looks spot on, while on me it would stick out like a sore thumb. So I chose rose gold. It was my holy grail for a while and I finally got it.

You are right. The watch is loud specially in yellow gold and with the baguette dial but you can pull it off, not sure I could.
On another note, I wouldn’t replace Audemars Piguet as part of the trinity for any other brand. If anything, I would get rid of Vacheron if I had to but I wouldn’t do that either. I’d leave it as it is but AP more than deserves it’s place on the trinity.

I love my 41mm date just2. The bracelet is comfortable and effortless to wear.
My absolute dream watch for over 25 years....of course then it was only in 36mm but 40 is such a modern upgrade.
Bought my DD40 thinking Id keep it for a little while before trading it at some point… now there is no way this leaves my collection. Everything is perfect about it, the style, the size, the proportion. It also shines like a disco ball. This watch checks so many boxes

Yes thats why according to mr Philipe Dufour : Rolex is king of sport watches and Lange king of dress watches. AP makes around 50k watches a year and 95% are Royal oaks. They make fragile so called Sport/dress watches. For me quality is reliability, durability, material and accuracy not only finishing. AP RO only have nice design, finishing with nice bracelet. But no good quality. I own 2 RO and don't wear them any more because to many problems! I Love A. Lange watches...the quality and finishing is much better than Patek and VC👍 great video

Great Video Rid. I have this same watch as do we have similar AP lineup so it’s funny how close are collection is become. Anyway this is not the largest Rolex box there is a x large box for platinum. I can tell you I wear my day date over my yellow gold sky dweller now. Never thought I would say that. I love it though. The bigger diamonds is what really does it for me. Keep up the good work.

You are a well travelled person I wanted to ask do you think Rolex supplies to AD is more in certain countries more than others like I went to Dubai and they said date just would you be around 3 months while here in Australia they are like it might be a year or two as I don’t have any history with AD. It's a beautiful watch I got the daydate II 218238 with diamond hourmarkers in grey market. Would recommend the champagne dial if you get an offer from Ad.

Any recommendations on a good starter watch? I’ll be graduating next year and want to gift myself a nice watch for finishing grad school and passing my CPA exams. First, I love all Rolex watches...and I love the look of a gold watch. Nonetheless, it's either stainless steal or white gold (stealth wealth) for me. The more casual life style in Texas is about something nice that can do it all. Work, play and date night. Also, if you don't treat me right, I will pay more to someone else that appreciates me...its about the personal connection.

Love it. Congrats 🎉 I’m gonna get the new platinum Day-Date with baguette diamonds. Already in talks with my AD. I 100% agree with you it’s all about connections and service you get. A year before I thought I would never be able to get any Rolex at retail now my AD is so nice to me and working on getting all the high in demand pieces that are hard if not impossible to get. I would say to anyone who is trying to get Rolex at retail don’t lose hope it is definitely possible to get at retail and not paying those crazy high grey market prices. Love your videos. I was fortunate to get a wg meteorite daytona on oysterflex end of last year, I’d pick that based on its rarity. I hope to get your day date in Jan for my 40th, i tried it and the identical everose a couple of months back and it was Richard Mille moment, never really lust after or desired a day date until it was on my wrist, the penny dropped, in that moment i understood how special they are. Hopefully you are never in this situation, if you could only pick one Rolex, which would you wear for the rest of your days?

Royal Oak all the way bro! Not sure which one you’d be able to pick up but even though the day-date is a cool watch it’s miles behind in my opinion from APs amazing design, class, movement, style, status and so on. There is just no comparison in my opinion. However, you should be able to get a day-date easier. APs are way tougher to get.
