Well we will be in Wisconsin to 4 days starting next Thursday as we are going to visit the college for orientation. It will be nice to get away for a little bit for sure.
I totally agree with you Mary. We both work our full time jobs and so this for extra money but we both agree we have to make family time. Since losing my dad - I have realized life is so short and I wanna be around my kids. I hate when we go out to much and my boys are in there rooms playing games. We still make sure to come back and have a meal together then head back out sometimes. Money is nice but family is precious.
I’m a full time driver from nj I do all the apps mostly instacart and spark and I make around 900 a week for 5 days and my husband dose it to love your videos
Now THIS was good television! I love you guys and watch old videos while I’m doing paperwork! The new ones get my full attention and I am always learning something!
I’m disabled and have to live on basically $1k a month. It sucks..But you do what you have to do. I have two college degrees, bills, etc., Oh and btw…I still tip my DoorDash drivers!
I worked with my husband on 3rd shift for 4 years at walmart. Same nights off and everything. I just started day shift. I actually miss him. We barely see each other now with our different work schedules. I also do doordash on the side when I'm off cause I no longer have time now with my new work schedule. We got into some arguments at work and got a talking to by our managers. We also met at walmart. Lol.
Again I've been doing this since day one but I got to tell you guys it is not fun and exciting I do it with my wife full time people only do this to make extra money and a lot of drivers do it full-time to pay their bills I own the house in massapequa Park and get my ass kicked the property taxes if you want to make money you have to be out at least 50 hours a week and believe me anybody watching this video it might be fun the first month of doing it then it's a pain in the ass dealing with these people is a nightmare and these restaurants but we do it because you don't answer to a boss
Christy and I can relate to what you two are going through. We are old enough to be your parents and thought we had prepared for our retirement. Boy were we wrong! We do this to pay utility bills and savings for a rainy day. To answer your question we work 5 hours a day from 8am-1pm. It is stressful and we don't multi-app.
Oh Ive this conversation with my spouse too. He thinks I should take a break and everyday I go out and do DD. The money is too easy. It doesnt feel like work to me either. I can either sit and watch TV or make the water bill payment in a few hours. Its hard not to do it. I couldnt take a Saturday off unless I really needed to because the money is too good. Its hard. I get it. I see where your both coming from. God is good
We do 4days/wk between 3-4hrs a day and consistently make $100-$160 per day. It gives us 3days off and 4 mornings off. That's enough so far. We know we could slip in an extra hr here and there if we feel like it. We have found, after 2yrs, a good market that's easy to drive and safe and we get repeat customers who tip. We bring snacks and drinks for ourselves and often get to shop for ourselves before or after our shift. We start 4:30-5PM and have a plan for the day. We keep our own stats and keep a dialog about how things are going so we both agree on what we're doing or how to handle a situation. We have learned so much from you guys and Kim and a few others. Invaluable. Happy here in N California. Thank you!
Pick one day a week just to relax as a family together. Sounds like Mary just needs a break. She will come back stronger with a small break. Maybe Lou can do an evening on his own sometime.
He’s not feeling burnt out and he doesn’t look at it as a job. He has fun doing it. That’s why he’s saying if you’re feeling burnt out then you don’t have to come out there. She’s saying pretty much since she is feeling like it’s work she wants him to take a break too. Let the man make the moolah and enjoy his dash experience 💪🏾💪🏾. My wife and I do apps together at times also and we enjoy doing them together and spending time together making money. At the end of the day it is a job. You’re delivering something someone ordered from the store to them. So you may need to make breaks and things like that more often if frustration is building. You don’t want the apps to get in between you guys’ relationship.
The nice thing about gig work is the flexibility. I schedule everyday. Some weeks I'll bang out a few 12 hour days and take an extra day off. Some days I'm not doing much so I'll work shorter shifts, but work 7 days. If you both need money but want more time off. Maybe split the hours to have more time off. Both work separately for 8 hours a week to get the 16, or bang out a few longer shifts earlier in the week
I live on LI and love the show. You guys should comment on the crazy drivers that are on our roads. Or some Yogi quotes, “ Taco Bell, that’s so crowded nobody goes there any more.” Love ya.
Omg i know I am 10 months late but I'm a newer subscriber of yours and OMG I literally peed my pants watching you guys do the uncle Giuseppe's delivery! I felt so bad you guys standing in the rain but what threw me into a laughing spell was when Mary you asked, "are you poverty?" Hahahaa I don't know how to pronounce the customers name but I know it's not poverty! Hahaa I don't know why that Made me laugh so bad! And Lou holding that heavy watermelon! Ughhh I bet in the moment you guys were instantly regretting claiming that order 🤣 anyways, awesome video glad you guys got paid out over $100 it was much deserved
My husband & I do instacart two to four hours a day five days a week. Usually unless we’re doing a promo or something. I think our longest shift was nine hours. I like working with him because I have been deemed unable to work due to my disabilities. So it is nice to be able to go & help him out with work. Versus when he was working a W2 job he was working fifteen hours a day four days a week & we only spent an hour together on work days. Then when it was his weekend he would always get called in because other workers wouldn’t want to come in. Does he drive me nuts sometimes yes. But at least we are spending time together versus me being a housewife & him working his W2 job. To me it doesn’t matter what we are doing as long as we are together.
Sometimes it seems that Mary is too hard on Lou and sometimes it seems like Lou doesn't listen to Mary (he hears the words but doesn't register what she is saying)
Mary is right. This summer I’ve dashed a lot less. If the family is home then I stay home. Sometimes spending time at home doing nothing is the best thing. No plan. No commitment. Allows for spur of the moment things to happen. Can be a 15 hour week or a 2 hour week. Can’t make deliveries a priority.
I drive calmly in Long Island and people That drive that way scare me the same way it scared you. Like what’s the rush, no rush in being safe and using your signals.
I can help with Cornershop if you need. A few things, the som is the person that you can contact if you have any issues during the shop. Quick tip, never weigh produce, just take the info from the receipt and input it. You can contact the customer up until you press delivered. After that, you can only contact the som.
At one point my husband was laid off and had to do gig work with me full time. It lasted three months and we fought almost daily and had to stop. However my roommate also male works with me now daily and I have absolutely no issues with him. He respects me, helps me and treats me like a boss. I've been able to do gig work, ten apps now full time for over two years. It's very area dependent and you have to treat it like a job to make your weekly goal. I've also driven 20+ miles for a $100+ order I loved Cornershop, so so sad it ended yesterday. I have #200+ bags I don't know what to do with. You do have to pay close attention to prices, you need to put in the sale price, you even need to calculate it if should be like a buy 2 get 2 free you need to break down the price per single item. Chives are not green onions or scallions, you notice it said 1oz. Chives are in the little herb shell containers ( like rosemary, thyme etc) so that was the wrong item.
My family owns a business and my parents worked there together for like 30 years until my dad passed away. Everyone including me would ask how do you do it🤔 it just worked for them. I think you guys are great together but if someone is grouchy or not feeling it they should stay home for that shift in the name of saving the marriage 😀👍 use your som for God sakes 😂🤣
Me and my wife go out together from 5:00 till 8:008:30 at night three four times a week and at times we get on each other's nerves because she does not think about how far it is when it's comes to mileage and money and we might have a little disagreement over it but other than that it works out pretty good. I keep telling her better money less miles!!
My situation is different I do full time right now I live in North Carolina so it Cost of living l Way cheaper I'm on disability so I can only work for 9 months as much as I want and then after that I gotta cut back but my house is paid 4 I just basically have utilities and stuff like that I basically have saved up about $10000 Since I started in December Also bought a car just to do doordash with for 3000 and put some money into it for guard repairs Otherwise I would probably have about 15000
My husband needed a new assistant and suggested I work with him. He said "we could drive together (45 min each way) and have lunch and stuff together. I said " Hell no!" I love him too much to be with him 24/7. Plus.. anytime we get in the car together, we become the Bickerson's. :D
omg ! my sister name is Parvathi and i phone called her to verify is she the same Parvathi (customer) your are talking about and she said yes that she ordered from uncle giuseppe's marketplace 😬 , i showed your video to her and she felt very surprised lol haha , anyways thanks for posting this video 😃
Haha that’s hilarious! I hope she got her order ok. We felt terrible leaving it in the rain! I always wondered what one of our customers would think if they saw one of the videos we delivered to them
@@TheLongIslandDashExperience that's okay , we really enjoyed your video 😃 and that app really struggled you a lot , thats bad ! Anyways thanks for the delivery 😇
You guys had a stacked uber order around 14 minutes in where you wanted to do it out of order but couldn't (at least you wanted to do that initially). While uber doesn't technically let you, if the 2 pickups aren't super far away you can just pick them up out of order anyway. In the sequence of steps you can see the customer name for the other pickup, just grab that then go to the pickup they actually wanted you to pickup first. At that point uber will think you have 1 order in the bag but you actually have 2 and should be able to mark both picked up immediately one after the other, then continue to the first dropoff from there. I've been as far as 4 or 5 blocks away from the second pickup and told it start delivery and it worked, but if you were farther it might give you trouble. Worst case scenario you just have to drive a little closer to the other pickup before it lets you start delivery. Still often more efficient than doing the order uber wanted you to, as long as the second pickup is ready to go.
I do this full time and I’m single. I do 10-12 hours in a row and will typically work every day since I figure why not. My rent is $2500 a month, and I have a $400 car payment. I earn on average $250-$300 a day and spend about $5-$15 on gas depending on what orders I take. I am extremely picky though with what I take and my car gets 40mpg.
I do live in the Greater Seattle Area though so our cost of living is a little bit higher but I try making $1700-$2100 a week after putting money aside for taxes/other expenses.
Lord that order was a headache! I knew it was too good to be true! So much mental gymnastics and emotional turmoil to do that order AND her address was weird as hell. Never again lol
It's tough since I'm partially disabled I just work when I can. I did ebay before and the wife hated me doing that so I switched to doing doordash and the other apps and she doesn't like me doing that. I went from working 80hrs a week for frito lay to not being able to do anything. Life is not well.
When I’m doing instacart. After I’m done with my order and I’m about to leave the store I send a message to the customer saying I’m on my way with their order and I’ll leave it at the door unless they tell me otherwise. I say I’ll knock before I leave. Usually they will say “ok” or “ that will be great”. If I don’t get a reply I leave it at the door anyways because they probably won’t answer when I knock when I get there anyways.!
Hey guys!!!!! Nice video! That 120 dollar order was nuts lol. Def never had that high of an order before. I don’t work with my fiancé thank god lol. She has a W2 job. I do this full time and also resell stuff on eBay and other sites. But yeah i work like 7 or 8 hours most days and can usually hit over 200 bucks. Sometimes 300 on weekends. I use flex and spark the most now. With food apps and shopping apps sprinkled in. I live in Indiana so not too high of cost of living so with reselling and doin gig apps i get by just fine. Keep up the good vids!
16 hours a week!! What a nice par!! Also I’m like Lou and will get burnt out, but not realize until 5 years later!! 😂 🤣 Literally been watching your videos and already signed up for all the apps. I work and go to school; do I have time to be a driver….ummm 🤷🏻♀️. But 16 hrs a week sounds doable!!! Get it! 😜
Actually Sundays are the busiest, if you stay out after families get home from activities. Saturdays were always crap shoot in Seattle for me. Sundays are the money maker. 3-10
I work 530 to 130 pretty much 5 days a week then go out and dash or ub until 830 pm. On my days off i have grandkids from 515 am to 4. Then g o out and dash and ub until 930 pm
No way could I work with my spouse for 8 hours a day! We do a lot of home renovation projects and every time we start a new one, we joke this could be the project that ends our marriage 😝
With Uber you can find the second order's name in a stack should the second pickup be more convenient. I had to pass the second pickup once where I saved 5 minutes by taking the 2nd pickup first. My fiance and I have worked each other's jobs. She has came along with me for my deliveries and helped me get business for my marketing agency. I have helped her with her home care duties as well. We've mutually grown with it. These orders that have higher payouts than the value of your order is quite ironic. Had a Spark order that was a pack of gum to one customer and a $10 beach chair to another for $26.
I have been watching you guys for months and I always wonder why Mary goes out. I get wanting to spend time together but she always seems like she hates it. She complains nonstop about driving and parking lots and shopping orders. Seems like maybe you 2 could find some time that you can just spend together without the gig work. I would definitely still watch if these videos were just Lou. It would probably be better for everyone's anxiety LOL
I just got it the other day. They sent it after completing 3 orders along with a welcome call. The day after the welcome call, I got the e-mail about them moving to uber eats lol.
I thought about your question about trusting self-driving taxis the other week. All of those self-driving taxis in San Francisco decided to stop working at the same time a few weeks ago, and at least one entire intersection was completely blocked for hours until actual humans from the company showed up to move the vehicles. See, don't trust them.

I was laughing with lou trying to figure out 2.5 pounds of peppers 🤣 lmao

I had an aneurysm just from watching that cornershop order at least you were paid very well for the hell you’ve been through 😂

Lord that order was a headache! I knew it was too good to be true! So much mental gymnastics and emotional turmoil to do that order AND her address was weird as hell. Never again lol
Okay, I have to say that was painful on so many levels! 😳😳🤔🤔
haha
It's tough since I'm partially disabled I just work when I can. I did ebay before and the wife hated me doing that so I switched to doing doordash and the other apps and she doesn't like me doing that. I went from working 80hrs a week for frito lay to not being able to do anything. Life is not well.
I hope it gets better for you bud.
Thats a good way to do it!
Mary has let you live a very long time, lol 😂
Haha
16 hours a week!! What a nice par!! Also I’m like Lou and will get burnt out, but not realize until 5 years later!! 😂 🤣
Literally been watching your videos and already signed up for all the apps. I work and go to school; do I have time to be a driver….ummm 🤷🏻♀️. But 16 hrs a week sounds doable!!! Get it! 😜
Very doable! Good luck!
I work with my brothers at least 4 hours a few days out of the week and we argue. He is a major back seat driver. Lol
haha
Actually Sundays are the busiest, if you stay out after families get home from activities. Saturdays were always crap shoot in Seattle for me. Sundays are the money maker. 3-10
I do the evenings for like 2 or 3 hrs (during the week). Saturday and Sunday, I do ajout 8-9 hrs... Broken up between home drop ins, groceries, etc.
I work 530 to 130 pretty much 5 days a week then go out and dash or ub until 830 pm. On my days off i have grandkids from 515 am to 4. Then g o out and dash and ub until 930 pm
No way could I work with my spouse for 8 hours a day! We do a lot of home renovation projects and every time we start a new one, we joke this could be the project that ends our marriage 😝
haaha
I’m full time and I do 150 to 200 a day
Hey y’all should do the breakfast shift 5:30am-11 , I made 87.50! Love the morning coffee song btw lol
Waking up that early.. not for me lol.
🔥🔥
Thank you!
Buy a small scale & put it your back pack 👍
When no scale available I make estimate weight on produce. Helps me save time🎉or even Google average weight.
Ugh not putting away carts is so annoying
💜💜💜
With Uber you can find the second order's name in a stack should the second pickup be more convenient. I had to pass the second pickup once where I saved 5 minutes by taking the 2nd pickup first.
My fiance and I have worked each other's jobs. She has came along with me for my deliveries and helped me get business for my marketing agency. I have helped her with her home care duties as well. We've mutually grown with it.
These orders that have higher payouts than the value of your order is quite ironic. Had a Spark order that was a pack of gum to one customer and a $10 beach chair to another for $26.
You guys should have called the SOM once you checked out to get the app advanced. What a mess corner shop is lol 😆
No I don’t
Uncle Giuseppe's does have scales digital ones
I have been watching you guys for months and I always wonder why Mary goes out. I get wanting to spend time together but she always seems like she hates it. She complains nonstop about driving and parking lots and shopping orders. Seems like maybe you 2 could find some time that you can just spend together without the gig work. I would definitely still watch if these videos were just Lou. It would probably be better for everyone's anxiety LOL
Cornershop didn't send you that huge box of bags to use?
I just got it the other day. They sent it after completing 3 orders along with a welcome call. The day after the welcome call, I got the e-mail about them moving to uber eats lol.
Luv u guys🌸🌺Lala
Thank you!!
27:22 I would drive 21 miles!
Wow thats nuts!
Maybe 1 Saturday a month do gig apps. Compromise?
I hate noisy restaurants. You can't even talk to your dining guest without shouting! Pass!
I could never work with my husband!!! I can barely live with the guy🤦♀️
I'm dying lol.

33 to 40 MI
I've been watching a few videos this weekend. Did you guys lose a lot of wieght or was it camera angles?
Does Para still work? Still showing expected payouts?
No DD keeps changing code to combat them
I knew as soon as you weren't weighing the produce at the time you were going to be 'reviewed',, it's so annoying.
Why don't u buy them a scale, like 75.00 on amazon...lol, but yes why don't they have one. A scale!
Didn't put thr cart back ?
Which order?
@@TheLongIslandDashExperience just pushed it away by your cat at end of video
